How much would it take for you to complete this shop?

Go to the location for a drug test with a bottle of fake urine. When it comes to test time, show a $50 or $100 bill and see if they'll accept it. If so, leave the premises and report the incident. If not, walk out. All for $40.

I don't think that's bad for a $40 fee, though I'm not sure I could pull off trying to bribe someone.
Yeah, the money transfer shops were extremely uncomfortable and I will never do it again. I'd pass on this one too. For any amount of money. I'm not a very good actor.
I would be very leery of such an assignment. Like someone mentioned, it sounds like a sting. The parameters just don't "feel right," but that's merely my opinion.
I would do this. I used to love doing the perfume shops where you purchased in cash and send a partner in and let them know they found your bag and purchase with the receipt in it.

I need atleast $100 to get real weird on a shop. The attempt to cheat and then fail the professional exam shops are the most awkward I've had to do. But I'd do them again for the $150 fee
Ha, never occurred to me that this might be needed. I bet their are various family recipes passed down over generations that could lead to great debate on our boards.
And if they take the $50 or $100 bribe, how do you prove this so you can get reimbursed for it??? No one is going to give you a receipt for accepting what is basically a bribe!!
Because the results wouldn't actually matter they suggested apple juice :-)

I believe there was a geolocated photo of you holding the money before you went into the location. Other than that I guess it was a matter of trust.

Are they going to reimburse you the $50 or $100 for the bribe? I know the instructions say to leave if they will take the bribe, but can't you say they grabbed the bill? At this point, it's all about dishonesty.
Agree about the bribe stress. My heart pounded for miles after a WU attempted bribe, even though the employee was perfect. I would probably pee my pants with this wee bribe shop...

speaking of awkward shops...the testing one is now 3 hours long and it's going for $120!
(I can't take the exam because the requirements say you can't have taken a professional exam in the past year or the upcoming year, and I've done/will do both, but I am so curious what the exam is that is! If you need to be there for 3 hours, it's probably at least 4 hours long!)

I would assume that the rooms where this type of interaction would take place would be video recorded. So if you reported that the bribe was taken, the client would be able to review the video to see for sure.
I regurlarly do nightclub drug sting shops for more than twice that amount. I would consider doing this shop, depending on the client, requirements, and msc. I record the serial # and email a scan of the bills to the msc before doing the shop. This information is also uploaded when I submit the shop.
Is the nightclub sting operation through mystery shopping? I think I might be too old for this but I'm always curious.

Yes. They are common in Las Vegas. No age limit.

I don’t do either of these shops. I’m too convincing. Everyone would get fired every time. No thanks.

Well the bribe itself wouldn't be difficult. You just flash the bill and ask them if they could maybe tweak the results a little. You're probably not the first they've ever encountered. But I'm curious who you're supposed to bribe. The receptionist? Because you won't even see the lab tech.
Actually, if they take the bribe, you don't leave immediately. You use the fake urine to fill the collection cup with the observer present, and it gets sealed and submitted. While they technically can't prove that the bribe was taken, they can prove that there's fake urine in the collection cup, which means the observer did not do their job.

@AZwolfman can you give a hint as to which companies do nightclub sting operations?

Las Vegas only. We work for the same MSC.
Ah okay thanks! I was thinking that AZ wolfman was in arizona.

Yes. All ages visit nightclubs and ask for drugs. I was born in 1950.

Mostly NV, but also CA, AZ, and occasionally some other states if price is right.

Of course they reimburse; it's a required expense. For most positions, the bribe is legal and proper, but in which case the bribe must be pooled with the staff tips.

Actually, Nevada. I have done such shop in northern NV also.
