I have not yet built a spreadsheet. I have ledgers, copies of everything including receipts, collateral, and even some old and/or unnecessary stuff, and printouts of online information. It's a little fussy. Unless/until I get the software I want, I am sticking with my old school method. Software and digitized information are in my future...
