Did BJ's Brewhouse Move to a Different Company?

As a note in Los Angeles area where there are probably more than 12 locations they would send me in a twenty mile radius there have only been two to three with one job at each one this month and last month. So they seem to be doing very few jobs each month right now. Hopefully that will pick up eventually and go back to three or four different shops at each location each month. Right now in LA you need to be vaccinated to enter a restaurant so these constant changes I am sure are keeping their bottom line from being in the black. This is a new rule as of a week or so ago.

Well, I found out why I can't access my account through the MSC's website. They're now on Gigspot, and since I have a Gigspot account, I have to go there to see this MSC's shops. No BJ's posted yet, though....

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

I am going tonight. They added some additional questions and photos and they are reimbursing the same with no fee and higher covid prices. In my city if you wait for a bonus on anything you usually have no work. Lately some others will not do because of covid get bonuses. I have never seen a bonus on BJ's.

I too have GigSpot. I emailed them asking them to delete my account so i can go to each individual MSC website, as I have heard that GigSpot does not get all the shops. It has not been deleted yet and it was a few weeks ago that I sent the request.

Hi @BirdyC, just so you know, there are only two locations left right now. Longview, TX and Charlottesville, VA. The client initially asked for several shops at only certain locations, but then changed their mind and opted to do just one shop, but at every location. For some reason, the BJs shops fly like hotcakes (must be the Pizookie)! But they should be posted for December within the next week.

As for GIgspot, I do wish we could help you more. But our hands are tied, I don't even have access to the system.

You need to keep at it. I finally got it taken care of but had to work on it a few times. I know it is not fair but neither is their broken platform not giving you all of the options to go make money. They can deal with the multiple emails per day.

Thank you, Kate! I appreciate the information and will keep an eye out for December shops. The nearest location to me is around 22 miles away, so we don't go unless I'm doing a shop. Then it's worth the trip.

I know you don't have access to Gigspot; I just didn't know the MSC had moved to that platform as an option. It can be helpful for shoppers to have access to multiple MSCs' shops in one place, but can also be frustrating.

I finally took one of these shops for next week, and got an email today saying that they are suspending them again as of Friday due to Covid. The email said that they hope to restart them in 2-3 months.

Damn! We love the place and the food, and miss those shops. I'd been hoping they'd be back in our area soon, but looks like not.

Thanks for the heads up. I have a scheduled shop at BJ for Monday. I never received notification it was cancelled but after reading about that here I looked and my shop is gone. Our Covid numbers are coming down here but I ate on my own dime last Monday and very few diners were in the restaurant. Thanks Mr. Bill.

Someone snagged the BJs San Bernardino-nice central location. But the high desert shops linger. I’ve noticed most companies need more high desert shoppers.

Odd that you did not get notified. And also odd that they're suspending them now with Covid numbers coming down, although I guess that's not the case everywhere.

Ever since they hit the new platform (non-shopmetrics), I have only seen 1 posted. I'm in SoCal so I should see anything from West LA thru Orange County. I can't imagine doing a BJ's in San Bernadookie. Heck, I can't imagine doing anything in San Bernadookie as that area has really become a hell hole. I worked for 3 months (IT contractor) out in San Bernadookie in 2021 until I got a WFH gig. I was amazed at what a warzone it has become.

Maybe with the new platform, they just get taken much quicker. I'm not actively looking for them all day every day. That is one thing I really love about Sassie. They post and you get notified. No searching for work required. Guess I don't get the great stuff because I don't put in the extra effort.

Hmmm....I had one scheduled for Tuesday and never received the cancel email either. Just checked and no more shop is listed on the site. Bummer. Glad I read it here..Thanks

BTW, mine was not on a Sassie site. It was with the same MSC that's had them for a while. So, I'm confused about the "New" company referred to above.

Yeah, I'm not sure about that either. But this was the latest BJ's thread, so I posted here about the cancellations.

FYI, they are still with the company that uses the Shopmetrics site. Maybe that's why you've only seen one shop posted on the other site you're referring to.

yes, i know they have NOT changed MSC,....but I was under impression they went to non-shopmetrics site. Am I wrong about that? Or are they still listed on shopmetrics platform?

I am guessing it was approx. 12 yrs. ago, that I accepted a shop at an eatery that was assigned by MSC #1, who was desiring to obtain a client contracted with MSC #2. When #2's scheduler contacted me about doing the shop for them, I responded that I had been paid more with a higher reimbursement by #1. A few days later, I received a call from the owner of #2, requesting the name of #1; I refused and heard no more.

I'm guessing they just found some other shopper who didn't care about the rules and gave up the info. You did the right thing, but as we see all around us in most things...there are many willing to bend/break rules all the time.

April shops were posted today. I took one for the end of the month, so hopefully they don't get pulled again!

I just looked 50 miles out in my large city and do not see any. Perhaps this region is not yet ready, We have had tight restrictions on indoor dining until this week...proof of vaccination was required and still is by individual location.

Edited to add they showed up today (April1) and I was able to get one! That will make up for the one that was cancelled earlier this year.

The email I received listed one location in each of NY and NJ. But that's all that I ever saw in my area.

I saw a ton posted this morning, but when I logged in, the closest one was 15 miles away. The ones closest too me were already gone. I skipped this time, I had seen 1 or 2 locations from time to time, but this was the FIRST time I saw an entire list together.

I'm not sure why, but the location near me was not taken until late this month, and one was available for next month when I checked earlier this week, so I took it. Actually, maybe I do know why, since the service at one I did last month was terrible and the place was pretty empty. But at least the food was good.
