Whole Foods Delivery Shop

Has signed up for these or done them? They seem to be new. You have to order a specific list of items for delivery and you are reimbursed.

Yes, I am currently doing them. I decided to sign up because the reimbursable food purchase items are things I buy anyway and I'm happy to bring down the family's grocery bill when I can. The first shop I did took me around an hour to do and fill out the report. I'm on my 3rd now, and I have it down to about 35-40 minutes.
I applied but so far, even tho the job is due today thru the 25th I am still pending.
Whole foods is on top of its evaluations! Very interesting that there seems to be 3 different companies with different WF projects. I am doing that delivery shop in a few days. It seems easy and they are basic grocery items, which is nice. I am also doing a huge test eval in Washington DC that is going to get me over $800 in reimbursed groceries. There's another company that's testing alcohol purchases in Whole Foods too.

I just received my delivery and according the instructions, I'm supposed to wait to start taking the temps when there is 15 min left of my 2hr delivery window. This makes no sense to me. I'm supposed to leave the items in the bags at room temp? The ice cream was partially melted when I got it. How am I supposed to consume these items after I've let them sit out and then stuck a probe thermometer in them? Seems that is just asking for food poisoning. I swiped on the shop when I thought I could order 35 bucks worth of anything, then I found out it was a specific list of things. This is an ongoing monthly project for a full year. Seems like a lot of work for the amount of groceries that I won't be able to eat and the measly 7.00 pay.
I got the shop assigned and realized the items on the list were something we don;t normally consume. Except for the milk and eggs, nothing was organic. I buy from Whole Foods only for organic groceries and this seemed a waste of my time. I asked them to be removed from the program and I was.
They did do a sub for me to grass fed organic beef. My original beef that I chose was 3.00, this was 8.00. I don't eat conventional chicken or eggs( only pasture raised). I'm going to give some of the groceries to a family member.

Guess I misread the instructions and pay.

A Dad shopping the Ark-LA-Tex and beyond.
When I applied, I stressed NO DELIVERIES and I was notified I had not been chosen. Predicated upon the prior posts, the MSC did me a favor.
I don't believe that there's any requirement about organic vs. non-organic. The directions give suggestions for using the 365 brand because that's the easiest way to stay below the $35 reimbursement limit. However, I've gotten organic chicken, beef, eggs, milk, yogurt, and ice cream -- just not always on the same shop because of the reimbursement limit.
If one is willing to use a 50% off "coupon", then you can order up $70 and be fine. People who regularly order from Whole Foods would appreciate a 50% off "coupon".

I believe we DO have to order the 365 brand in ice cream, eggs, cheese, and bread. I'm reading the instructions now and that is what is says. You can chose something else ONLY if the 365 is not available.

STILL, I can't believe I have to keep everything on the counter for 1.5hrs before taking temps. The ice cream is totally melted.
OK, so an "out of the box suggestion". Does it say that you have to bring the order inside your house? In my area of the country, I could just leave everything that is not perishable (fruits, vegetables, etc.) outside and right now I would have to worry about freezing, not melting. When I have ordered from Whole Foods early in the COVID days, everything came packed so that they would stay cool during Spring here.

Instructions say to "meet the driver". I had a horrible choice of times this morning. 6-8am or 8-10. I picked 6-8 thinking there was no way they would be there at 6. They were texting me at 4:30 for substitutions. They showed up at 6:25. I'm in SoCal so its not freezing here. It was 54 when the groceries arrived.
they want you to wait 15 mins after expected delivery to make sure the food is being packaged properly to preserve the correct temperatures. Not sure where you live but here on the east coast it's winter and freezing. The temperatures have been in the teens and low 30s. You won't get food poison for 30 minutes or so.

man that store was a mess today! I waited in line for about 30 minutes then had to wait another 15 minutes to get a cart. I only did two shops because it was so crowded and busy. By the time I started shopping around 2ish, half the produce was gone, no more fish and people were packed like sardines.

I hope as the months go on we can make changes to the items ordered. I don't eat meat but figured i'd give my dog the chicken or donate to the nearby shelter.

You can't start temping until 15 min before the end of the delivery window. So, I had to wait until 7:45. Theoretically, the bags should keep the food cold, but it didn't. I'm in SoCal.
I am hoping to get one of these shops but after reading these posts I am wondering...can you do this shop without going over the reimbursement? I will be giving some of the food away and if I have to go many $$ out of pocket to order the required items it is not worth it for me.
They upped it to $50 now

@sandyf, I went over by 3 bucks and changed because of a substitution( 8.00 beef for the 3.00 beef I chose). The scheduler approved the overage.
I don't even see these shops in my area. I would take a few. I haven't seen any of the usual grocery stores shopped since pre-pandemic.
I was just assigned a Whole Foods assignment. Thanks to everyone for their helpful tips.

@ SunshineQT I believe the "$50 now" is when a delivery shop only. $9.95 for the delivery charge and $5.00 tip. So whether you have delivered or pick-up the food reimbursement is $35.

You get 35 worth of food since you're tipping 5 bucks and 9.95 is the 2hr delivery window fee.
Just was approved but have a few questions...can I order my temp probe with other personal items from amazon to avoid a delivery fee? Can I sub out similar foods that are not 365 if the 365 is available but I prefer a different brand? So for instance the list of cheeses are pretty plain, can I order a different 8oz cheese which is more exotic? Or do i need to get permission to do that.
MY job is listed as $35 but I was told the reimbursement has gone up to $50, If that includes the delivery fee plus tip then it is still a $35 reimbursement for the ordered items.

I was under the impression that it had to be the365 brand because those are almost always in stock. One of my items was subbed so I told the scheduler and was approved the overage. Yes, you can order the thermometer with your other items. Just circle the amount plus tax.

reread the shop instructions. There are first choice options and second choice. Second choice should only be used if first choice isn't available. This shop has very specific ordering guidelines.
