Five Guys Hotdogs?

It says burger “preferred” but have you ordered a hotdog? I have no preference, per se, but sometimes a man gets bored.

I order hot dogs about 1/3 of the time. I just get tired of hamburgers sometimes, and hot dogs are generally $0.40 less expensive.

Do you like their burgers?
I like their dogs and order one once in awhile for a shop. I get peppers and onions on them, and they're good! IMO. And the bun is usually nicely toasted, better than the burger buns are. I've never had oil dripping from mine. Maybe it depends on the specific location.

I refuse to get a hot dog where they don't offer sauerkraut. How hard would that be to open a jar of sauerkraut.
They’re ok. I get them in a bowl, no bun, with grilled veggies. Unlike ordering the little hamburger, reimbursement covers the dog.

I get the hot dog in a bun and the hamburger in a bowl with veggies.
I get the hotdog once in a while for variety and to keep expenses down. I like their dogs.
The dog was excellent. The cashier recommended jalapeños and relish bacon cheese and mayo / mustard.

Dude kept upselling me.

I said "Little Fry" and he goes "Regular Fry"

Sneaky. Sneaky.

One of my favorite shops, even if I go over. Easy report. Good food. Pay is higher than most fast meal places I can find.

Me, too.

I recently began getting the hot dog on a hamburger bun with grilled onions and grilled jalapeno peppers. Getting it on a hamburger bun is neater and they can easily put more vegetables on the hamburger bun. The amount of "grilled" in grilled jalapeno peppers varies from one location to another.

Grilled cheese with grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and tomatoes is my go-to.

Grilled cheese with bacon and tomato is also really good!

You're a visionary! I didn't even consider this.

That sounds amazing!
I get they have to upsell, but don't ask if I want cheese on a BLT. That's just wrong.

I had a dine in shop yesterday. The person next to me had a bowl of fries with bacon, onions, cheese and something else.

I'm going to figure out how to get that fully reimbursed on a shop..

I was intrigued so I searched online for Five Guys French Fries secret menu. I found that you can order cheese fries which come in a bowl with melted cheese. They may or may not charge you $0.50 for the cheese. Some day I might try ordering this, but I wouldn't want to end up with my shop being denied.

It is costlier than a burger believe it or not. It is maybe 4" long and can be eaten in 6 dainty bites or 4 regular. Not worth it.
It's more expensive if you add cheese or bacon. Plain, it costs the same as a BLT which is not more than a Little hamburger.

The hot dog costs $0.40 less than a Little Hamburger. The absolute cost of a hot dog is less than the cost of a hamburger patty.

A hamburger patty at Five Guys weighs 3.3 ounces. The hot dog served at Five Guys weighs 167 grams = 5.98 ounces. So, the cost per ounce for a hot dog is much less than the cost per ounce for a hamburger patty.

Believe it or not, the hog dog is less expensive than a hamburger by both measures of cost.

BTW, for our West Coast aficionados of In-N-Out Burger, an In-N-Out Burger patty weighs only 2 ounces.

WOW! What a great secret revealed. After purchasing the shop requirements, upon departing 5Guys I might just have to order one of these french fry with cheese bowls! Thanks for the tip.
In-N-Out has a neopolitan shake which you can order, no extra cost
I do the veggie sandwich with extra mushrooms, jalapenos instead of green peppers, hot sauce, and pickles on the side (because I usually bring most of it home, and they don't microwave well). Skipped the hot sauce this week, since I put a leftover chicken breast on it when I ate most of it for dinner once I got home.
$15.44 today for a little burger in a bowl, little fries, and regular soda. I did this one for $3 less than I usually do this location because I hadn't done one in awhile and want to stay in the MSC's good graces--plus I really, really, really had a craving for their burgers and fries! (BTW, the fries were delicious today and I got a zillion extra ones--which, sadly, I forgot to take home with me. Put them in the outer bag, then walked out without them).

But I am *not* doing any more of these shops for less than $25 anymore--not when the reimbursement keeps falling short of the required purchase. The prices keep going up, the reimbursement doesn't, and the fees keep going down.

Birdy when I want a cheeseburger, I switch the fee and reimbursement on my spreadsheet. This way, I have $18 to spend on my meal.

I don't mind so much when I do the location that's 6 minutes from me, but this particular place is a 20-minute drive one way. So I want the cash! LOL.
