McDonald's Mystery Shop - Anyone try this today

I didn't count but didn't come anywhere near 180 questions.

Same. But that's okay. They can all just leave the shops for me!
First time shopping since June of this year. Kinda blows what they expect for so little money.
All sizes of soda still $1 where I live. But the addition of the Dr Pepper is brand new in my area.

@wrosie The survey says list the prices stated on the menu board. I was going to put the price listed on my receipt for the large coke, but figured that is wrong since it wasn't on the board. Unlike another poster to this thread who had all soda sizes and prices listed on the board, I only see small sodas listed for a buck on my menu board.

They must've ditched the all size drinks are 99¢ program.
The prices of the drinks are all still $1 here, no matter the size. I looked at my son's shop before he submitted it. He was exagerating.. if any more McD's shops get done here, it'll be me doing them.
To get someone to do it.

My son did one dinner shop. Now the lunch and breakfast shops aren't showing on the board at that location. Why did they split them out to 3 different times if all of the time slots go away when one of them is done?
I'm waiting for three to be approved before doing any more. I agree that the form is a bit constraining and confusing. For example, it says to upload photos of all four sides of the building and the main sign if you do NOT find POP there, but what if you DO find POP? It still makes you upload 5 photos total. So, I've just been uploading the POP and the remaining sides of the building. The guidelines aren't clear to me on this. Anyone have theirs approved yet?
Easy meal, IMO.

Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

I'm wondering the same thing. I did mine on the 1st but they haven't been approved yet. It said that it would be approved within 5 days.
@dafizisblue @JulieC I did a couple on the first day and haven't received approval either. They are still in Awaiting Review. I would like approvals before moving forward with more.

One day the pre-sale sign wasn't functioning properly -- 1/3 of the screen was dark. The next day, this same location turned off the pre-sale sign.

Seems like luck of the draw if you get a long line or not, I had two McDonald's in between two other shops for breakfast today. As I drove up to the closer location, the line was too long so I didn't bother choosing the location. So I selected the second location and it was just as long as the first one. It was a time waster, but I enjoyed the breakfast.

If they do this again in the future, they need to adjust the survey so that it isn't so cumbersome. As stated already, there is a lot of back and forth going from your pics and the survey.

A ton of questions that are answered with the pictures. The two pictures of the menu board is tricky. You have to time it right to get the second screen with your order since it doesn't stay up for long. There is also a third screen, but neither of these stay up that long.
I've never used this app before. Gave it a go today. Was raining like crazy, so I left the location with may pictures and figured I'd do the report from the comfort of a building instead of a busy rainy parking lot. Whoops! Didn't "check in" -I thought that's the point of the geo coded pictures. Ugh. Can this be fixed by going later? Or will it tell me I'm there at the wrong time?
I think you have to Check In at the time of visit or it won't count. I am not sure that if you had left without checking in and went back an hour later that they would accept it -- even if it was still breakfast time (or your assigned meal time). They will say the receipt doesn't correspond to the time in plus wait time.

I am still waiting on approval on the ones I did and won't do any more until they are. I wonder when these will end since they did not provide that information. In my area, there isn't a mad dash to do these.
That's a downer. It doesn't say in the instructions to "check in" but that's my fault for not being more aware. It merely talks about setting up your location services for photos, and all the required items. Welp, I'll write them anyway, and maybe I will redo or delete the app forever.

I sent an email to the scheduler to ask a question, and I got an auto reply stating they were out of the office and would answer the next day. In that email they had a list of what I guess are common problems, and one of them said if geotagging isn't enabled, you may have to return to the location for verification. So it sounds like it wont be a problem to go back and verify.

Another useful tidbit in that email was that it's ok to order a combo, as long as it's a large.
Yeah I wasn't specifically looking for them today, but when I popped open MSC's app looking for a quickie I saw "car counting" and other usual suspects, but no McD's. Guess it was a short run.

@Tanischri87 Their in-house jobs are always "Check in on site." (At least in my experience.) It was almost a significant problem for me last month when I was at a site and could not get a signal. So now I just think of those as "app jobs." They have a website which is useful as an aggregator. But if I'm taking one of their blue-pin jobs, I just tell myself I'll accept it on site, start it on site, and probably finish it on site.

(Mcdonald's became an exception for that third rule. Too many checkboxes for me to be confident in the small screen.)
Woops, nevermind. I didnt realize that there was a merge in companies, so payment shows up under the same MSC even though when you log in it still has the name from the old company.

I am still waiting for payment for these though since both shops I did were accepted.
I ended up doing 4 of the $10 drive thru shops. Today a new bunch popped up. Looks like it's doing something similar inside at the kiosk. Three different sized drinks for each meal period. But some of the instructions are unclear. They tell you to buy a breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns for dinner and lunch, and some say the lunch and dinner shops reimburse $10 while other lunch and dinner shops say they'll reimburse $7. I didn’t download the guidelines to see if there are clearer instructions. I may just skip these because of the picture requirements. Way too many pics to remain covert in an empty dining room.
@Morledzep Did you notice if the number of participating stores was less than last time? In my area, the locations that I did are not available this time around. At least these have a better pay rate.

I did not see any disclaimer that indicated the grading of your work would take up to 5 days like the first round posted.

These shops should be revealed not mystery. They want pictures of the restaurant 4 corners and the front counter 15 in total there is no way not to get noticed. Then you have to take pictures of the kiosk and the menu board and also the drink list ? They are listed at 20. in my area ,but I would not do these without an LOA. I did a similar shop at a burger king , but it was revealed so it was not too bad, but a mystery shop with all these pictures can go sideways very quickly.
Saw the same thing and it was like HOW am I going to order a breakfast sandwich after 4:30 pm??
Do they now offer breakfast all day? I don't go too often so this may have changed but somehow I think somebody screwed up the directions.
15 photos?? On a covert shop? Really?? LOL
For those that have done these before, are the ordering requirement pretty stringent? Wondering if I can order more than the required purchase? If I use my app deals, I can get even more food for the same price, ie free mccafe drinks, free happy meal, etc.
This seems to be worse than the first wave of McDonald's.

I agree with @sil2222 that there should be a LOA. The first one I did today didn't have a kiosk at the store, so I'm probably not going to be paid nor reimbursed for this "food." If they don't have a kiosk, why offer this location as an opportunity? Shouldn't they know which locations have a kiosk? Incredibly frustrating.

I took pictures of all four sides of the inside of the restaurant. While I am waiting for my food order, someone comes up to me and asks me if I was taking a picture of them. I told them no. I guess I wasn't covert as I thought. I checked, the flash was NOT on.

On top of all of this, the app is screwed up. It asks if the order is accurate. I chose Yes and it insists on my selecting what was wrong with the order. (response required). They need to fix it.

I clicked I'm Done a bunch of times and it throws me to an error page. "We're sorry, something's gone wrong. Please return to the previous page and try again."

I did this for another FF location today. One pic inside of a board and the employees are looking at me like Who TF is this guy? I bought food even without a reimbursement just so it wouldn't look so weird.
I had the same issue exactly. This company was recently acquired by another. I spent about four hours emailing explaining what you just said. I listened to a scheduler condescend to me and belittle me, After telling me that all the photos I loaded up were duplicates when they were distinct, as there is a glitch in the report system used. She told me that I would be paid for the jobs, but then she got offended and said she was going to ruin my mystery shopping career. I never had any problems with this company before the merger and had done 120 shops for them.

This is the worst I have been treated after doing about 5000 mystery shops.
