McDonald's Mystery Shop - Anyone try this today

I did 3 of the mobile shops and all 3 was sent back for revisions. One was asking for all the beverages in the Sweet and Treats section but there was no Sweet and Treats section so I put the menu order pages in the upload that clearly showed no Sweet and Treats. The other two was sent back because of Q.5 . They were telling me to check all the beverages in the list but I wasn't given a list because it wasn't any POP Material. One of those requests wanted the McCafe section uploaded but it wasn't any upload space left after putting in the Beverage section. I have not been paid for any of those shops. Two are still awaiting review after the revisions and one was rejected which I appealed because I reached out to them for advice because the other two I resubmitted had not been reviewed again and they never responded. I completed the shops 11/18/22 and 11/21/22.

I just got my first email about these shops (not sure why I didn't get any of the others), and the fee is now $20--if this is the same shop y'all are talking about, and I think it is. My first thought was, sure, I'll do one for that. My second thought, on reading this thread, is no thanks. I did a route of shops a few years ago where you had to take several photos of the menu boards, inside and out, and the different "rotations" they made. I found it was very hard to photograph the brightly lit ones. And trying to take photos discreetly outside wasn't easy, either.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
@MShopperMs they have a poor appeals process. You don't get a confirmation email that the appeal has been received, who is reviewing the appeal, a date when you should hear either way, or what the verdict was. It's very frustrating. I appealed some Visa shops and only found out I won because the locations were removed from the map and I went to my completed jobs and saw the change in status and subsequent payment. After those early wins, none of my appeals, which were Visa jobs, have been successful.

Has anyone had success with MOBILE shops? Has anyone had MOBILE shops getting kicked back due to pictures clarity?

I should know better, but I am considering doing a mobile version of this McDonald's shop.

If they hadn't kicked back all of my first wave drive thru shops due to unclear pics and had approved them with the speed and expediency of other jobs like the gas station shops, then I would've done more of these. If they had answered the simple question of how to fix the picture issue, then I would've made the correction and tried at least one to see if it sailed through.
The fee started at $20 and is too low for the required work. Are you talking about the drive thru, kiosk or online order. I always saw the later at $20.

These shops sound like they would need to pay triple digits to get me to try one...no way..ut ah, 20 foot pole

The drive thru ones aren't bad. I happily did them for $10 plus treating my kids to a few fries & nuggets.
The new round for $20 isn't worth it for $75.....

You get faster after doing a couple. I upload the photos to Google photos and do the report on my desktop - its much easier that way. Wondering if anyone is getting this error only on the Menuboard pictures: "Image is too small. Minimum allowed dimension is 1799 pixels; image provided is 1010 pixels x758 pixels" I got it last week one one drive thru shop - messaged back and forth with support but did not get resolution. My menuboard pics are the same size as all the rest. Not sur what is going on. Submitted another ticket.

Scroll through this topic and someone had a resolution. I think it worked on one of my menu board drive thru shops. For this error, I wound up using a program that allows you to manipulate image resolution. For this specific error, I doubled the image resolution, saved the file, and uploaded the new file. The image is too small message went away and allowed it to proceed to review

Tech support has been MIA when I have asked them about this job.
@PaulaL I am not sure if the solution about the small pixel size is in this thread or in the Visa shops (either contactless or the debit shops). Using that program to double the pixel size did work for me though. Another poster talked about changing setting on an Android so that you don't have the issue in the first place. It worked for a couple of shops I had, but not all.

I did two of these today. It's really not bad at all. The questions are mostly based on the pictures, so as long as you get those then you are golden. My only issue is that it is difficult to toggle between the app and the pictures to count the beverages or get prices, so I sent the pictures to my husband's phone so I could view simultaneously. You can view your uploaded pictures on the app but it looks grainy to me.

I live under the same "worry" myself.

The 3 McDonalds evaluations I performed this past weekend were all weird insofar as the PoP items that they told me to look out for were not there on any of the restaurants I visited. Whatsmore is that the drive-through menu boards didn't have the drinks listed; they just said "soft drinks"--not Fanta, Coke, Sprite, etc...

What was also a bummer was that I went during the times of 10:30 AM to 3:59 PM as directed. The first McDonalds restaurant I visited was still serving breakfast at 10:48 AM. So there was no listing for the McFlurry or the Dasani.

So I don't think they will accept my shops but I really don't know what I could have done differently to remedy this.
@metro the issue is the grainy pics. I, along with others here, got our shops tossed back for grainy images. The app does something to clear images for this shop, but works fine for other jobs -- for the most par. I would've done more of these, but not without having guidance on how to submit clear images. The back and forth with the editors telling you to fix your images means that it isn't a money making shop.
I'm seeing one location that has ELEVEN pins, including drive thru (there is none). Somebody could spend a whole day there! Not me.
I rarely cancel a shop but I signed up for this one and cancelled within 10 minutes. Waaaay too much bullshit is required. Confusing and uploading probably 150 prices because they want a picture of all drink shakes and mcflurries in every size and type. too many entrees and confusing. NOT FOR ME. The jobs are not moving off the board. McD got CHEAP and is trying to make FOUR mystery shops into ONE. PLUS they want prices for all the APP drinks! PLUS a drive through food visit? NO NO NO

Same thought, I was actually asked for a LOA by the general manager who happened to be doing work at a table. This was after I ordered. I even tried to say I was taking photos for a friend. I was asked to stop taking photos on private property. I submitted shop for what I was able to get, but it got rejected. Had to do a lot duplicates because all the photos required something to be entered to be submitted. Then I informed scheduler Jennifer immediately who just said it was not supposed to be a revealed shop. No @#$%&. After rejection, I contact her again and nothing. No help whatsoever.

This seems to be worse than the first wave of McDonald's.

I agree with @sil2222 that there should be a LOA. The first one I did today didn't have a kiosk at the store, so I'm probably not going to be paid nor reimbursed for this "food." If they don't have a kiosk, why offer this location as an opportunity? Shouldn't they know which locations have a kiosk? Incredibly frustrating.

I took pictures of all four sides of the inside of the restaurant. While I am waiting for my food order, someone comes up to me and asks me if I was taking a picture of them. I told them no. I guess I wasn't covert as I thought. I checked, the flash was NOT on.

On top of all of this, the app is screwed up. It asks if the order is accurate. I chose Yes and it insists on my selecting what was wrong with the order. (response required). They need to fix it.

I clicked I'm Done a bunch of times and it throws me to an error page. "We're sorry, something's gone wrong. Please return to the previous page and try again."

I did this for another FF location today. One pic inside of a board and the employees are looking at me like Who TF is this guy? I bought food even without a reimbursement just so it wouldn't look so weird.

Once you complete a pin for a location, the remaining pin disappear from your map. looks like it's restricted to one location per shopper.

It's been a few weeks since I've done these shops, but has the requirement changed? 150 prices? really?
I only had to do 23 size medium prices on my previous shops.
OES, yep, it says right in the description that there would be more than 100 pictures. I did a couple of the drive thru shops. And I hated every minute of it. Then I did one of the online order shops, through the McD's app. That was less than 50 screen shots, and a sore neck. I hated that one even more..

By the time the online order shops came up I was done with these shops, but when I saw the instructions for the delivery shops, Istopped to read the instructions, then I backed out of the page and ran a whole different direction..
I have never done them with the old MSC but would it be better to them to to go back to the old MSC?
The Mobiles turned out to be alright. Once I got the hang of it I could do it quickly enough for $20. (Always pick the Medium shop as it's the default size and that will save you a bunch of clicks.) They're all gone from my area now though. All that's left now is Kiosk which is ridiculous and Drive-through which they're going to reject anyway.

(I still haven't heard back on my appeal for that shop a month ago. I did finally get a reply back from their team lead on a separate email, but all she told me was to go file an appeal.)

In my opinion, asking for the individual item screenshots for Kiosk shops is unreasonable. If you don't trust me to type in the price on a Medium Latte without proof then don't give me the shop at all. Plus, what I learned from the Mobile shops is that the list in the guidelines doesn't match what they might ask for later. God help anyone who did the shop, went home to file it, then realized they were lacking a photo.

The only problem for me, is that I’ll do mobiles for three different stores, and I wish I could use the same screen shots for all three.

I did a mobile one a couple of days ago. It's still awaiting review. I don't think I'll do another one. It seemed like too much work for the pay.
I completed my first mobile app report then the next day received an email telling me to send the screenshots by email instead - so I did. Now today I get a message that my shop was rejected because I missed the deadline. I did not miss the deadline.
Is appealing the only possible avenue here?
This one smells real bad. I would advise everyone to pass on this.
The location usually disapears for me if I've done one, sometimes only for one day someone permanently. But the deadline must be near because I was able to take a small and medium pricing slot at the same location for the same time. Turned into a headache with all of the pictures. I always buy the cheapest stuff even though they reimburse up to $10 and Shoppers pay is 20 for kiosk and mobile app. Drive thru is $10 pay and Reimbursement. Delivery $25 and Reimbursement for delivery is up to 17. I've done about 6 and denied once. It is so tedious and presto is so slow and glitchy. They do have a comment box at the end of the survey. I write in it every time. Once the police çame and everyone had to leave the lobby. I couldn't get the rest of the interior photos so i sent exterior photos and explained why, it was accepted. All locations and methods of purchase ( in person, in app, delivery) have slightly different prices. Mostly on drinks that are not soda, but on delivery the soda goes up as well. Sometimes i get paid in one day and sometimes it takes up to one week.

Anyone else notice they started listing it as a regular shop labeled QSR on Presto? Still not gonna do it. Just more annoyance to scroll through.
The shops that have been around a while I've only seen in Presto.

I did see many on the job board of an MSC listed as QSR. These might be the ones you're seeing in Presto now as QSR. I do believe it is a different MSC, but it appears to be a very similar or the same shop. I have done neither after reading the horror stories here.

Perhaps the client or first MSC enlisted the help of a second MSC to get these done?

Edited to add: Is the client McDonald's or the drink manufacturer? Seems from what I'm reading it's the latter.
