It would be my 1st shop - and I dont want to mess it up. I'm on the site: $10 pay + uptown $15.45 reimbursement. It lets me assign a date - and tells me the required time slot. Assignment Scenario says "read all paperwork before going to shop".

QUESTION: It says *no* details on what the requirements are, what kind of report or pictures needed, submission deadline, etc etc. Do I click "accept the assignment" and then I get the details? I Thanks

Yes, that's the way it goes. They might be able to send you the form if you email them. Most restaurants now require food photos not this one. You don't have to worry about photos, but the receipt.

Sorry, I honestly didn't know. FWIW I hadn't accepted the shop at that time but either way I won't identify both entities from now on.

ShopperGirly thanks for reply. When I click the details I do see a bunch of forms, with blanks -ie asking for comments on food, bathroom, outside cleanliness, etc etc etc. Do you actually print those forms, hand-write the answers, then upload it back onto the mystery shopper site? BUT on the shopper site I also see "Report Shop".... if I click that it asks me if I completed the shop. IF I say yes -- will then prompt me to just answer the questions on their website? Or - do I print the forms, handwrite answers, and upload? Because to me it looks like the only thing they want uploaded is the recipt Thanks

Yes. The receipt is all you need to upload. When you click report shop, you can enter all the details of the shop.

report the shop, upload the receipt, then go to the tab that sat Contractor Payment Invoice and enter your electronic signature at the bottom. If you have any difficulty submitting, there is an e-mail address. Include the assignment ID #

Also, please don't take the Five Guys shops at $10 wait for the bonus to go up. I'm guessing it started at $5 for you. One of them was at $35 MAO (Make An Offer) near me yesterday, but it's not unusual for them to get to at least $18 around me.

I had one a couple weeks ago offering $40 PAD for a late-night shop. Wasn't able to take it at the time. The one time I offered $32 they turned me down, so who knows the magic amount.

This is a nice food shop. You will have to time the exact minutes, seconds until your food is ready. I use my Apple Watch, and put notes on my phone app as to how many people were in line ahead of me, who's the manager etc. If you like their food, which I do, its a nice job, esp when you can make an offer on the job.

Let's say I time it without being obvious, it's 9 minutes 12 seconds. Can I just write 9.12---- or do I have to include pictures of my phone stopwatch etc?

I think this is going to be too complicated for you and you should just not do the shop. Some of these questions are really ridiculous. You have been told what images/pictures you have to upload by @DRJ. Why you are continuing to ask?

I can't not do it. I mean, even though Whoppers are better -- this is still a cheeseburger. And even though its not McDonald's - there's fries. And - fountain coke. If it was something minor like a cure to Covid or attaining world peace - then yeah I'd not do it. But this, is important stuff. My first foray into the culinary arts and high finance. I'll even play Madonna's Like a Virgin on the way there to set the mood. After that - what happens is between myself and myself, a gentleman never tells.

BTW - sorry for the questions. The sole reason I asked about proof that I timed it is - for many years I owned a few decent sized companies. Around 41 employees in each - and on different days, different people would be serving customers. We had the *same* mystery shopper almost everytime- she was so obvious. And every time we saw the report: One of the questions was how long did it all take. 6 out of 6 times in 5 years.......... she wrote 28:12. She estimated and fudged it. Perhaps the Shop company didn't catch on (corporate folk often dont)....but I asked, just in case behavior like that had made for more stringent proof requirements.

This is truly one of the easiest shops to complete and report. The only upload is of the receipt. You need to know the time you enter, the time between when you order and receipt of food, and the time you leave (at least 15 minutes after receipt of food). You need to visit the restroom for most locations. The gender, age range, hair color, mustache (Y/N), beard (Y/N), height, ethnicity, and shirt color of the cashier. All very standard stuff. Pay attention before you go to make sure this is a standard order in the restaurant, eat in the restaurant scenario. They have others as well. All are easy. They also have delivery shops. The initial $10 will not cover the delivery fee, and the $15.45 reimbursement will not cover the inflated costs of delivered food in my area. I won't do a delivery shop for less than $20. Also, the delivery shop requires photos of the food as delivered.

Edited to add: I wasn't clear about the delivery shops. The amount allocated for the delivery fee is not enough, so I have to use a significant part of the shop fee to cover it. The amount allocated for reimbursement does not cover the prices when they are increased for delivery.

The Hedgehog shops they used to have were even easier, but more photos. Those are largely gone. They do not have any brands of food shops in my area.

Unless you're in a heavily-shopped area, the fees do go up. I'll occasionally do a $15 if I really want lunch and I'm passing by anyway. Also bear in mind the current reimbursement is unlikely to cover more than the basics. That said, the MSC is quite reasonable in their requests and consistent with payment. It's a good shop for getting up to speed.

Things to keep in mind:
* Note what the cashier looks like. Including approximate age, hair color, height, and shirt color.
* Start a timer when you get your receipt. Stop it when you get your food. I delay about 10 seconds each end to ensure I'm not spotted.
* While you're waiting for your food, watch the kitchen. Specifically how clean it is, how many times the fry cook shakes the basket before dumping it, and whether the grill cook changes their gloves after raw patties. (They frequently do a small shake on the fries then put it back in. That doesn't count.)
* Visit the restroom.
* Observe cleanliness, including smudged windows and doors.

And then while you're eating your food, note the quality. Firm but not crispy fries. Juicy but cooked burger, with some toasting on the bun.

The report is a bunch of yes/no questions, a few ratings, and I think 5 narratives of around 200 characters each. The only photo is of the receipt.

The same MSC has other fast food clients that are easier than this one. The Five Guys report can be a bit annoying if you select "No" (aka something went wrong).

While 5G is very easy, I agree with @boridi

Both chicken shops RC/DHC are even EASIER and shorter reports than 5G. The 5G requires several sections of commentary. While it's not long, it's many pages because they cannot do like Sassie or Shopmetrics and have the entire report on 1 page. I love SASSIE and their "oops."

Fill out what i want and come back later and jump right to the "oops." i normally do all the yes/no first and save the narrative for later.

The Cajun Fries (available but not always posted on the menu) makes this shop worth it.

Five Guys is my favorite shop. I always stress the first time I do something new, but they all get easier after you do a couple.

5G shops are the easiest. I don’t even worry about timing unless it’s over 8 minutes and give them the benefit of the doubt unless it’s egregious. Since a few shops have been accepted at $40 MAO in north NJ, I won’t accept less.

Ok my report is submitted. I guess it's a while before I'll know if it was accepted but....if I can say that I got paid to eat a burger and fries - well, that would be a major fantasy come true. Sadly, those other ones remain unfulfilled and I highly doubt anyone will pay me for those but I digress. Thank you to everyone here who replied to me with suggestions, feels good to see people wanting to help people. Hopefully - I can gain some experience doing these and one day answer the questions of others. Thanks again all.

You'll know when they pay you..or reject it I guess. They are not very communicative.

If you click on my shops, it will disappear when it has been approved, They pay about the 20th of the month.

Top right click on your shopper number drop down to my account there is also a payment history tab with lots of good information.

I agree with the "NO" if chosen. It is almost as if they don't want to hear what was wrong.

We shall see. I felt I'm working for the MSC - who supposedly F% wants real feedback for. I gave 'perfects' in almost every category because I meant it. One of the categories is - did the guy giving your food bag say something like "enjoy" " have a good day" "here you go" - -truth is he didn't. It was the manager . So I wrote fairly: Manager was present, he was hands-on working, he wasn't rude - - but I"m not able to describe that moment as "enthusiastic" or "warm" etc. I'm hoping my shop isn't rejected - I like knowing I'm fair in my observations be it as a shopper, or just writing normal reviews online.
