Are the Exxon shops considered a white glove inspection?

you are welcome. You likewise and hopefully you can get some bonused Exxon shops.
Thanks---Should be a simple exxon test but I am having trouble passing it.
yeah, there are a few tricky questions in there if I remember.
I finally passed !! yes, there are some tricky questions. I was beginning to feel like a idiot . I hope I can get some decent bonused shops .Have a good day MSing.
woo hoo!! As for the shops -- they seem a bit overwhelming at first because it seems like there is so much to remember but after you do 5 or 6 they become super easy and the most annoying thing is how long a customer will spend at the pump when you need to get a picture of it. I once had a man fill his car and then 5 different gas cans and then sit in the car for about 7 minutes and then go and buy washer fluid and put that in his car and I only needed that one last photo.
I am still trying to get my time down on these mystery shop + reveal. I recently did one that took me 55 minutes on site. Since the internet was spotty I did the picture upload at home. It was a small gas station and they were having problems. I was 15 minutes in and was still in line to make the small item purchase.

I had two drivers leave their cars in front of the pumps, so I had to wait for them to move them. Once they got back to their cars, they took their sweet time moving, of course.

What kind of times do you average for an Exxon -- on site and reporting? I might've gotten the time down to under 45 minutes on site without their internal issues and maybe under 40 without two drivers being super slow to leave, but this still seems high compared to what others have reported in the past.

Is there a way to attach the photos to the questions, but wait on the upload later until there is a better connection?

When that happens after waiting a while i get the picture the best I can. In comments I state that there was a car rhere for a long time. It has never been declined.
I fill out the entire report but take the photos in my camera (not the report and upload then when I get home. I am not doing routes just 3 at most 4 at a time. I live in a historic area which is horrible for cell coverage since they oppose cell towers and it takes forever otherwise. I can get all the photos and report done in 20 or 30 minutes (I won't do any with over 12 fueling positions).

I was given a 9 once because one editor said one of the stores I did was "too white gloved"! This location had thick dirt on the pumps and canopy poles, paint peeling off of the building in big chunks, and the main sign had thick dirt built up. The editor said that "normal customers" wouldn't see that thick dirt. There is NO WAY in heaven could someone drive up to this location and not see this THICK dirt! I know I can be OCD sometimes, but this place was so dirty! But other editors wouldn't have penalized me. This is the only location they said was too white gloved, and it's the second dirtiest one I inspected.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
That is the problem with their editors. There is no consistency with the editing. Each one seems to do their own thing and make their own interpretations on the guidelines. I really think the honcho needs to get all the editors on the same page. I know some people do not mind a point taken off, but I would mind if they are wrong. And some people do not care as long as they get paid. That is not the way I view it. Those scores tell about the shopper and sum the shopper up by that number. If it was not important you would not see that number every time you log in with that company and see it on the top of the page. It says something about you.

I'm amazed that you actually remember which shop you got a 9 on, and why.
@purpleicee You are so right. An editor once gave me an 8 and said I need to do a better job of paying attention. I was like what the heck does that mean. She said the report said it was a Chevron shop and I clicked on the Texaco button further down in the survey. The editor said if I had put the correct information, thet I would've earned a 10.

At first I thought I was losing my mind because that was my last stop of the day and I knew it was a Texaco. The receipt did say Chevron, but in the report I included pictures of the canopy, the MiD, and fuel pump and anyone could tell it was all Texaco branding. They should've reached out to me before closing it to find out if I had uploaded the correct pictures or get a clarification.

After doing a little digging, I noticed that this station previously was a Chevron, but they had changed it to a Texaco. I told the editor that I had no control over what was on the receipt, since the owners did not bother to correct it. I told her if she looked at the pics I submitted in the report, then it was clear that it was a Texaco gas station.

I also asked them to correct the grade to a 10 since I did not make an error. They said it was too late. Once the grade is submitted it is over. So I am held accountable for the editor's mistakes too?

I did a series of Electronic Mystery Shops and mostly given 10s. One location had an employee that was rude, clearly did not want to be there, and was deficient in her product knowledge. I gave them a low score and the editor gave me an 8. Like others have said, do they want an honest account of how the shop went or do they want a false report that says everything is spectacular and the associate has all the answers.

I reached out to one editor that consistently gave me 8s for tips on how I could improve my score. I was amazed by this person's spelling and grammatical errors. That editor was apparently from the other side of the pond or down under I think @purpleicee is spot on about needing consistency across the board from these editors.
@heywave - I had the same thing with a Texaco that used to be a Chevron and the receipt still said Chevron. I happened to notice it when the attendant gave me my receipt and I asked. They said they used to be a Chevron. I wrote that in the comments and was not docked. But, I did not need to do research for them. My photographs showed the address as did the receipt and they could discern the change of business name. Also, when you call the customer service number for store locations, whether using the number on the Texaco APP or the Chevron APP, the telephone agent will ask if you want Texaco or Chevron on either number, because they are in business together!

Regarding the grade being final...no, it is not! They do say that all the time. It wastes my time, of course, but I have been able to get a score changed every time the editor made a mistake. I just keep at it. Like I said, a waste of my time, but in the end, my stats are correct. I just do not function well when someone holds me accountable for my work and they do not have the same accountability. Especially when you have provided absolute proof.
There are certain areas of the inspection in which the editor should not be allowed to comment unless they first ask the inspector who, by the way, was actually at the location.
One of those would be the pump condition (oily and wet due to diesel spill). sure, question the inspector about it first, but do not assume that the area was indeed as you thought from looking at the photo. Trust that the inspector was there, noted it and determined it was not as you thought. At least ask the inspector before adjusting the score downward!
There are other instances, but, this is one that is most often cited by an editor.
I've been doing gas station audits for over 12 years. I STILL give myself an hour on site for each one! More than one reason, too. I often travel over 100 miles to do a shop; I review every question before I leave the site, because the cost of returning for one missed photo is high. I have the same problem as OP in these rural areas: sometimes apps won't even OPEN, moretheless function properly!

Also, I'm old. I'm slow. AND, I actually do all that's required in the guidelines, LOL.

I know other shoppers brag about doing 4 stations in an hour. Not me!
It's easy to remember when you get dinged for something you never thought you would.

I suppose so, if such things matter to you. I am usually given 10s, but once in a while I see a 9 or 8 and think, "Hmm, I wonder why." After that brief moment, I don't give those ratings a second thought! Of course I care about the job I do and strive to do my best, but what matters to me is getting paid. Remembering shop ratings, or trying to find out the reasons behind them, days or weeks later? Nah. Not worth the energy to try and figure it out or to take offense with it - unless maybe it was a 6, but that's never happened to me. They can take a point or two here and there if they want, as long as they pay me on time.

That test is a pain! Took me over 20 attempts and I am not sure what item I changed in order to finally get 100 percent. Worse than a damn Rubik's cube.
sometimes I squeeze in between their car and pump so I can get the photo! So annoying!
