Anyone Wish the Whole Foods Shops Would End?

If you want it to end, how about opting out of the assignment and giving other shoppers a chance. These were assigned on a long-term basis, and if you didn't get in, you didn't get in. I applied several times, but never got it in my area. I would have loved to have had a chance at those assignments. The best I can tell, the only time they come open is if somebody opts out.

I just got an alcohol add on for the first time this month. There are limited items you can order - like a $3 bottle of wine.

San Diego - CA
$3 for a bottle of wine? wow that is really getting cheap. I am kind of surprised they even have wine at that price at Whole Foods. I also got an email the other day strictly limiting what we are allowed to order for other foods to only their own brand.

Is the scheduler texting everyone to ask for you to let them know when you order? I find this frustrating. I’ve asked to stick to email in the past and my requests have been ignored. I really prefer having all work conversation together in my work email.

Yup - have been asked for text confirmations for the past couple of rounds.
I have not been asked to text. Only to order only 365 brands. At my store there are 3 yogurts I can get, all full fat and not greek. Only vanilla, strawberry and blueberry. Also cleaning only the bathroom/general spray or dish soap or toilet bowl cleaner. Very limited things to order over and over. I did get bagels this time tho. I never get an email anymore when my report has been accepted.

Do you actually respond to the text? They must be getting a lot of flack from the client if they are micromanaging like this.

I do respond - it doesn't really take much, and the scheduler is super nice so I don't mind.

Did you catch any flak for the bagels? Has anyone else ordered bagels or tortillas?

Nope and I have gotten them twice now. Bagels are listed on one of the lists in the instructions now. The everything bagels do not have much everything on them but they are pretty good. I did ask about english muffins once as I consider them sliced buns of a sort but I was told no so i have not tried that.
I have not ordered the hand soap and stay away from the tile and general cleaning as I do not like that foaming spray nozzle. I am thinking of trying to put a spray top from some other bottle I have in the cleaner and see if I can get it to just spray a mist.
Has anyone tried to use the soap with a different spray? For the hand soap I guess I would use a pump instead. Unfortunately all the spray tops I have seem to fail right before I use up the bottle it came in.
I've gotten the hand soap with both the foam pump and regular pump, and both were fine. There's also a 365 toilet bowl cleaner that has been regularly approved as well.

I think openings only become available when the regularly assigned shopped either quits or gets kicked out....

Are these still available
I am wondering if anyone has ordered non 365 and it was okay. i really would love to order the other brands, esp my yogurt since my store only carries full fat (non Greek) yogurt in three flavors with no plain. Last week the Ben and Jerries was on sale and was cheaper than the 365. I had to keep my finger from ordering that instead.
My total is hovering in the mid to high $40 range every week. This week they sent me over 2 lbs of chicken and did not adjust the price. Just that one thing was over $15. I do a pick up shop in a converted 365 store (the less expensive store they had for a while) which is smaller than most and has limited stock.
Thanks, i have never been made aware and I always write a note about why my shop costs so much and it has always been accepted. I cannot even stay under the $35 the guidelines quote unless they are out of stock on an item and I do not order it. Prices keep rising little by little but the $35 stays the same.

I have been doing them since Jan 2022 and I love them! It's such a treat to get the groceries and was thrilled when they extended the program last year. Why would you want it to end?

I always try to spend my full amount. Sometimes I'll get the liter size shampoo or fancy bread. I get as many organic items as I can get and stay under $50.

My reply to the question "why would you want them to end" : I did them for 18 months. I was fairly quick about taking the pictures and filling out the form. Ultimately I only spent around 20-25 minutes taking pictures, temps, and filling out the form, so that wasn't the issue. My problem was that when I got an alcohol shop, which was at least once, and sometimes twice a month, I was tied to my house for potentially 3+ hours waiting on the delivery. Often, my alcohol (attended) delivery was early -- up to 45 minutes early, but sometimes I waited the whole three hours before it arrived. When the shop was changed so that you could *only* get the 365 brand, I opted out. I did some research at my normal grocery store, and if I picked out the items on the WF shopping list, I could get them for $17 vs. $35 (I don't normally get organic stuff). Since you couldn't add any extra items to the order, even the delivery nature of the shop wasn't a benefit, since I still had to do grocery shopping anyway. I hope the shop went to someone who really was a Whole Foods fan and I wish them well.
With the non-alcohol delivery shops, the reimbursement is the same, but $15 of it is eaten up in the delivery fee and tip. So you are left with $35 to cover the required items, which means you might go over even if you get the cheapest of everything.

Just stop doing them. Sure someone else will pick them up. What the question?

The question I asked is below. Are you currently doing the WF shops? If so, what are your thoughts on them?

These are so easy, yet so mundane and tedious.

I’m thinking of opting out after a year or so. Anyone else?

I have found that people often make statements and provide unsolicited advice due to not actively listening or comprehending what is being said. People also listen to respond versus listen to understand.

I appreciate your advice for me to just stop doing them, that is a viable option.
I ordered shampoo once and I was told not to order it again but another shopper has gotten it. I think that shampoo and those types of items are "cleaning supplies". It does not hurt to try sometimes when you have been doing this job for a while and are all stocked up on the few possibilities. If you read this thread thru you will see that some shoppers have gotten other items approved.
Thanks! I have read through the thread, and even tried ordering hand soap a couple of times myself. It never fails, we always get the mass email every couple of months *reminding* shoppers to only order what is on the approved list. I would just feel bad reaching out to ask permission to see if I could get a different freebie because I have "Too Many" of one of the required products LOL.
