Not in love with Red Lobster and I clicked on the ordering requirements and seems like $75 with tax and tip will not be enough and all the pictures required- thinking of cancelling.
I have done 2 since they switched and easily scored a 10 each time. The unlimited shrimp at $20 helps keep the cost down if one person orders that. The pics are the same as before.

I was considering signing up - first time ever, but it says we will tell you what to order. I can not see in advance what the order requirements would be??
My sister shops and called to ask me to go with her as 2 people required. She wanted me to take the 11 required photos . I read over what was required and told her I did not want the hassle of so much photo taking. It takes away from the pleasure of dining. Too many photos! . Taking a photo of rest room, lobster tank, door, all food and drinks and outside selfie a bit much. God forbid photos rejected and she would be out the money. She declined the shop as she had no one else to take plus I read reviews of local place which said it was a dirty restaurant.,

no selfie! I posted the exact requirements on another thread. Please feel free to leave them all for mesmiling smiley
I jump at these since I enjoy Red Lobster. The work required is fair for the reimbursement.
I just grabbed one. I'm willing to try it. There are mixed comments on it. I get that some people want full coverage of meal...but if they are covering $75, it can't be that hard. Hoping it's as easy as Panda or Sonic with just more pictures.

I don't do seafood, but wifey does. So that will make her happy. i can just get Chipotle afterwards and let her and the kids eat. After this shop...i will have to decide if it's worth it to do another.

I love Red Lobster but I am not crazy about shrimp.

I stand corrected. They have added the selfie requirement since I did this shop last week. All the other photos are the same as before.

I just got one, but I don't feel comfortable outing myself with a selfie. I have done this location with the old MSC.

I'm not doing it if this is mandatory.

The whole selfie in front of the Red Lobster sign does not appeal to me either. What the heck do they want a selfie for? The store in my area is not in a desirable area so I am not inclined to linger in front of the place taking a selfie of myself and seeing if it looks ok. Sounds rather silly to me.

I haven't read the instructions yet. However..if selfie is required...who says your face has to be visible? You could wear a head covering (like a hijab) or do the picture from your neck down. If the instrx do not say FACE...then you can provide selfie without showing your face. Maybe i'll have my kid do a selfie with the sign.
I contacted them for clarification. The last thing I want to do is take a "selfie" that they won't take. I don't need to spend $75 at Red Lobster.

A selfie to me is your face. I'm pretty memorable, so this would not help being a "mystery shopper"

Selfie to me means showing your face. Taking a photo from the neck down or covering your face with a hat or mask or head covering or whatever probably will not fly. The Red Lobster in my area is in a minority area- I am not a member of the minority so I would not look like the typical customer nor the typical server. Standing in front of the place trying to take a decent selfie of myself when you already look like you do not belong there is stupid! If a bad report is issued they know who you are and you better not go there again! What the heck is the purpose of being covert if you have to attach a photo of yourself. Seems to me the number of photos required is a bit much for food that is not great anyway. And if for some reason the photos are not up to their standards you out $75 and a lot of time.

I'm not doing it with the selfie requirement and will ask them to remove the shop. Good point about knowing who we are and the consequences. This is where I live, go to the gym, shop, etc. I can very well see these people again.
Was there another shop with this company that wanted a selfie with a shop or was it another company?

I remember reading someplace bit I forget which company
I don't like that the new MSC reduced the reimbursement to $75 from the old $100. I also do not like the selfie requirement. There are 2 on the board in my area right now and I'm letting them sit there. I don't see myself doing these anymore. I did a number of them with the old MSC.
How would a selfie benefit the client? I have been asked to submit a license to an MSC and have a selfie.

One MSC wanted a full body shot of what I was going to wear to the shop (this was for a car shop where you needed a luxury vehicle to do the shop and needed to look the part).

No idea why they want a selfie- to prove it was you who did the shop? I also once did a study which paid quite a lot- it was not a mystery shop- what I had to do was take a selfie holding my drivers license up to my face. Paid $400 for an online study about garden products. This Lobster shop sounds like too much trouble with 11 pictures including of the fish tank???; Who the heck takes a photo of the fish tank- Yelp reviews often have photos of food but not the fish tank- plus taking a picture of the rest room? My husband quipped that if a male was doing the shop and went into the rest room and snapped a photo there might be some issue with gents using the rest room as to why he was taking photos. The fee is not enough to cover the food where at least where I live is not good and reviews of the restaurant consistently report that it is very dirty and disgusting so a no go for me- plus given the demographic of the area we would stand out a lot without taking a selfie outside the place in an area which is known as a high crime area that we usually do not frequent.

The shop looks the same as the one from the former MSC. The pictures are not a big deal except the dining room picture is awkward. The selfie is the deal breaker.
I can think of 3 MSC that have had my picture. One is an east coast SASSIE MSC that is 3 letters beginning with A. They do a major national bank visit/account opening shops. The other 2 are NEVADA msc where I have to get the license and submit it to them. My picture is on the license.

There is NO need to have a picture of the shopper for Red Lobster or any other restaurant/fast food. I wonder if this MSC will start requiring photos on the gas station visits next.

I'm reconsidering and NOT doing my shop. I thought about doing selfie with my kid instead, but then they could deny the $75 payment and that would be NO good.
Good move to not do this shop. Selfie is unneeded invasion of shopper privacy. Plus other photo requirements too many to do without being obvious.
