The last two I did at two different carriers were a pain.

They both returned the phone no problem. One never cancelled the plan and I had to fight with them to credit the account for a month and a half of charges.

The second company did cancel the account with a due date 30 days out. They then proceded to send it to collections and ding my credit report.

Thank

I thu it was a one time thing, but now given this situation I am going to just avoid them then.

Thank you

Wrosie, Thanks for letting everyone know. These are the kinds of details it's important to know. Even though you go according to the guidelines, some shops can result in financial damage through no fault of your own.
And don't bother asking the MSC for help, they will tell you that it's your problem.

This same thing happened to me the first and only time I completed one of these. Thankfully, I had only added one of them to the route of phone shops. I was doing for the same company at the same store. The purchase and return shop was different though, and it paid much more, so I added it on to my route. This was several months ago and thank goodness I only had one of them because it was a total nightmare to get my money back, and I still never received all of it. It’s funny how even the scheduler wasn’t willing to help me with my problem either and acted like I was the only one that this had ever happened to.

I won’t ever do another shop like this again.
I try to never be absolute, BUT, these shops are a definite waste of time and a pile of aggravation. I think it took six calls for me to completely shed myself of this mess. Nothing short of $500 would tempt me, but I am in for $1000.

Edited to add that, as with Ms. Judi's need. I would jump on the shop at less than $170. Neither the buy nor inquiry are the problem with this job; it is the return.

I did it once..ONCE, but only because I needed a phone and did not have to return it. So, it was a nice discount on my phone, which I still use.

Yep, this is probably the only way that I would even think about doing that again..
