Regardless of the category you post this in, my, answer remains the same.

Frankly, I have no intention of telling all of my friends and the friends of my friends that I am a mystery shopper.

Agreed it is a terrible idea to host anything like this on FB. I cannot even be FB friends with people I know who work at MSC's because the clients I shop Google me, and that info is public.

Also...can you imagine moderating a group of shoppers where complaints about MSCs are not allowed?
I'm perfectly fine right here.

1. I don't Facebook ever.
2. We bounce ideas off of each other.
3. I can kvetch if I want to.
4. There is a section for job postings, as difficult as it is to weed through.

You'll get no additional ad dollars from me. Thanks-no-thanks.
Well one thing I found funny already in the FB group (which is btw Private, so your Facebook friends wouldn't see what you post, but I get the concern nonetheless) is that right off the bat some guy puts up a post about how he's trying to do a shop for an MSC. And the MSC doesn't respond to his calls or emails to answer his questions. I'm sure everyone can immediately guess who the MSC is. Well, someone from that MSC is in this FB group, was tagged, and eventually had to respond. Of course their response was curt and terse and par for the course but I did get a chuckle out of the whole thing. Whatever the forum is, the feedback is the same.
The entire concept, as I see it, is to move any discussion away from this format, to one that the MSC staff control.

My concern would not be as much about friends knowing that I MS, but the clients I evaluate knowing that. And it seems that anyone who became a member of said private group would then have access to who all the members are...so not really that private.

Back when I worked for an MSC, I would take meetings with clients who would often ask, "How can we improve our scores?" My answer was usually, "Stop spending time & energy trying to figure out who the shopper is, and simply treat every customer like they are a mystery shopper."

The MSCs can apply the same logic to their operations. If they want to avoid complaints and criticism, simply operate their business in a way that is beyond reproach.
I am in such group or similar for some years. Nothing got or picked. sort of waste of time

Shopping Eastern Pennsylvania since 2009
I have accessed many of the FB MS groups using an alias. Without exception, none of them have proved worth my time to read - or even sign-in,
