Five Guys new questionnaire - what's with the 2 invoice uploads?

So I guess the questionnaire is "simplified" (though now it's even more useless - asks more pointless questions and less insightful ones that might actually help improve guest experience). Now takes about 5 minutes to complete if you just say everything was great. Even stupider it asks at the end "how did you like doing this stupid survey - what was the hardest part: Reading? driving a car to restaurant? (more inane options).

But the confusing part: when you get to the invoice upload page, there was space for 2, and it wouldn't let you pass without uploading 2. I tried to just upload the one receipt twice (didn't work). The uploaded a picture of the restaurant to move forward. The shop didn't include a milkshake - anyone know wtf they want a picture of here?

They want a picture of the receipt that is stapled to the bag that your order comes in. Its all so stupid and redundant.

Well I read the new instructions, and I've even done 1 or 2 five guys shops since they changed them (where you now have to stupidly order just the burger... and THEN the fries and drink), and I never uploaded the receipt attached to the bag before, or even read in the guidelines where it says to do so - does it really say this now?

wonder what's going to happen to my shop, because god knows i can't afford the outrageous cost of 5G if it's coming out of my own pocket!

Yes, the Guidelines now say that you have to attach images of the receipt and of the grill slip that is attached to the bag.

Also they are now required to ask if you want fries, a drink, and a milkshake, If they miss any of those, you have to report which one(s). I have noticed in the last month that they have gotten very good about asking about all three of them. I assume that some stores lost bonuses for not asking about all three.

It seems as if they are asking for a picture of the PICK TICKET that some places attach to the bag. I haven't done one yet with this requirement, but just sitting here reading all of the comments and suggestions and folks calling the PICK TICKET a receipt is starting to grate on my nerves.

No matter how you slice it, the pick ticket is absolutely not a receipt. And the receipt is itemized, and shows exactly what you ordered, so having a picture of the pick ticket seems redundant, at best. I don't ever remember getting a pick ticket on the bag at 5G, it doesn't make sense to put it on the customer's bag.

It might be something that would be good for meal delivery services like doordash, but the drivers don't need to know what's in your bag. They can't correct the order, they aren't even supposed to open the bag, so how are they supposed to know what actually went into the bag.

There is always a piece of paper (call it whatever you want to call it) stapled to the bag at Five Guys. It has to be there since it has the order number on it that they call so that you know it is time to pick up your food. If it is a take-out order, it has the name of the person on it rather than the order number.

Why that piece of paper is useful to the Five Guys as part of the report is unknown to me. But it is there, and very easy to collect and to then attach the image of it. I often use that piece of paper to take notes while sitting at the table.

My assumption is for the "They gave me the wrong order" stuff to see what was on the kitchen ticket.

Also, stapled? I only ever see tape.

The annoying thing about the new "receipt" requirement is the photo they provide shows both "receipts" in one picture but the report makes you submit them individually.

Yes, I took one picture of both "receipts" next to each other like it shows in the paperwork and tried to submit it like that. When I clicked to go to the next page in the report, I couldn't because it required 2 pictures.

So, submit the same picture again. Yes, it's dumb they show you 2 receipts together and require 2 uploads. That should be sufficient for 1 upload since you are following their guidance. I would say submit the same image with both receipts and see what happens.

Lol I don’t mind this since at least they got rid of questions asking how enthusiastic and happy the employees were. Like why should people be forced to be happy. So stupid those 2 questions.

I like the new report form. Besides doing away with the "enthusiastic" question, they now only ask about the employees you interact with. I hated the "choose ALL that apply" option for employees, but then could not choose both "happy" and "unhappy" or "friendly" and "unfriendly" when one employee was one and another employee was the other. They DO ask what the manager was doing and provide a list of several options to "check all that apply." They also now ask about the toppings on the burger: mushy, fresh, overcooked/burnt, etc. Oh, and they now want to know if the salt or Cajon seasoning level was too much, too little, or just right. I've been attaching one pic with both 'receipts' for months now as the guidelines requested, but yesterday's report was the first one that required two pics. No problem, I just took another pic of each one individually and submitted those.

They should also be concerned about how greasy the grill receipt is. My last one was almost translucent.

Page 3 of the guidelines apparently melntion this 2nd receipt. I only knew to include the bag attached receipt because of you all here. I did not see it in the guidelines, but the helpdesk politely told me where to look.

It won't let you submit the same photo twice. I tried that and got an error message.

Now I'm stuck on the combo thing - maybe it's only in certain areas but on a shop I did yesterday (after patiently waiting for her to offer fries and a drink after I ordered a burger) she said, "Oh, let me give you the combo then, it's cheaper.' I must have seemed puzzled because she told me they started offering a combo after January 1st and the only thing different is a smaller drink size. Since it seemed suspicious not to take it, I took it - but am still waiting for approval. I would have expected the form to mention it one way or the other.

I uploaded the same receipt twice and it was accepted. I did have to explain that I missed getting the grill ticket.

Am I the only one who has trouble reading the "order ID"? It does not seem necessary, anyway as they ask for the store number, date, and order number.

Just take 2 pictures of the same receipt, and upload each of those. Oila! two different pictures.

I ran into the issue that I didn't get a 2nd receipt and couldn't upload it. I didn't see instructions on how to proceed of that happens. I'm not going to out myself by asking for a 2nd receipt. I didn't think to upload a 2nd picture of the same receipt. What is the point of this even?

It should have been taped to the bag of food. It shows the order, not the payment details. If you did not get one, then you tell them you didn't get one and be very clear about it. They will probably watch the video to see if you truly did not get one or lied about not getting it. My suggestion would be to upload the payment receipt both times and clearly explain the "order" receipt was never attached to the bag of food. If that is true, then you should be okay. If you mistakenly threw it away not realizing that was the other "receipt," then explain that, but don't tell them you didn't get it if you did because that might invalidate the shop.

That extra receipt might have saved me on a recent overpriced 5 Guys that paid well above the starting fee. For some reason, I was charged twice for a drink. It was an online order and the receipt sort of made it look like I ordered two drinks...one was listed, then another after a slight indentation on the receipt. I was wondering why a regular fountain drink would be over $6. So, the receipt taped to the bag showed only 1 drink with my order and shop was approved. Of course, I explained in the report and expressed my displeasure as well. HOWEVER, the total cost was over $23 for a little cheeseburger, fries and one drink which was $6 above reimbursement and it was over $5 to park in the stinking mall lot. They'll have to pay me even more to go back to that one....At least it was approved.

Out Five Guys is getting rid of paper bags "in the name of sustainability". There's a sign asking customers to bring their own bags in for their food. So, I'm not sure how that's going to work, for either the tickets or the sustainability.
