Lighter shop payment

Has anyone gotten paid for these Lighter shops yet? I submitted my expenses on May 26th and it just shows entered. I think maybe it has to do with the fact that the ligjters need to be shipped back still but they can't figure that out and that's not my problem. I am glad i didn’t take more!

Will send an email out to them later but was curious if it was just me.

I imagine you wont get paid until you ship the lighters. In exoenses it asks for your tracking number for your shipment. You really aren’t supposed ti enter expenses until you've fully completed the project.

That is the issue. They dont know how to ship a flamable object and it has been weeks. This is on them, they should have figured thst out before the proejct started.

Hmm, that's odd. For hazmat shipments normally they have us attach a hazardous material label to the box and call for fedex to pick it up (I've done many shipments of alcohol, aerosols, etc). I didnt work this lighter one.

If you call, Mercedes has been working Saturdays and Natalia is in office Sundays. Normally no one is there on weekends but a month or so ago Natalia said they were trying something new.

Not every Fedex will be willing to pick up, sometimes they make you go to specific location to drop off instead. It shouldn't be a problem tho They did the hair spray last time which was also flamable matierial and they should have experience dealing with it......The biggest problem that I see is how they can ensure the lighter won't accidently trigger itself during transit...and that's something they should have figured out with vendor prior of starting the project.....

Not paid yet either, and really glad I didn't take another round of these. They were hounding me to do so. I my city there is exactly one Fedex where you can drop off hazmat items, and its a ways away in an industrial area on the way to nowhere. The crazy slow pay and the need to drive across town without mileage compensation is a hot mess. All puns intended! I usually love working with these guys, but this project is an exception.

Over the past 19 years I have had the opposite problem when shipping hazmat for RQA--FedEx normally will refuse packages I try to drop off with the hazmat label, but they will pick up from my residence. I live about 4 miles from the main shipping center for FedEx in my area.

Nope, I responded to Eric's email from a few weeks ago and he has not gotten back to me. I even sent a second one the other day and nothing. No payment either.

I did hear back from someone today, after they called to ask me to do more shops!!! They did say they were waiting to get the fed-ex thing straightened out and they want us to be able to add that expense to the report (as I expected), but it has been some time now. They said if needed, they are happy to advance money for lighters spent and if I was willing to take more locations, an advance could be provided for that as well (I am guessing she just meant for lighter purchases).

I said I won't be doing more until it is straightened out.

I have never known RQA to pay until after they receive the product, even if the delay on getting the return labels is on them.

If they offer an advance it is usually for the shop fee. For example, if you had 10 locations at $15, they will advance you $150.

I thought from the beginning this lighter project was a job to be avoided and didn't take any locations.

Is your nearby FedEx location a FedEx Office retail location, or a FedEx Express depot, or a FedEx Ground depot? I've been shipping containers of gasoline for over 10 years (and other random hazmat stuff for much longer), and the only location that will accept/ship stuff like that is a FedEx Ground depot, at least in my area anyway. The FedEx driver will pick up the shipment from you home and then take it to the proper depot for shipping.

I've got all of the above. The main hub ny my house does both ground and express. There are also several drop off and office retail locations within 10 miles. I rarely use those locations, mostly because of the hazmat policies, but no need if they'll pick it up, and the main hub will pickup anything from my home. RQA emails me a label, i tape it to the box, and I call FedEx to schedule a pickup.

Same for me, again! smiling smiley I really like working with these guys and normally would be game to help them out, but the pay on this is too low (especially with no mileage) and now very delayed payments and shipping fiasco are steering me away.

Even if they were in my town I wouldn't do them.
