Apartment phone and on site shop

Signed up for apartment shop. Directions are contradictory. One page says do not make appt for visit just show up same day as you call up to 5 times if you do not reach target on recorded line. A second set of directions say to call day of appt to confirm agent is there. I have had issues getting report form to load. Each time I try to log in I have to use change password option. I wrote to company for guidance. Got email that person in charge off until this upcoming week. Wrote to back up person no reply. Shop set for tomorrow. I have read reviews of the msc and there were several negative reviews saying company uses any excuse not to pay. Shop location is close and pay is not great but ok $40 but thinking of all the confusion am debating declining it. I know it is not good to decline shops but to be honest have bad feelings about this shop and company. Do not wish to waste time to have shop declined. MSC company based in Irving Texas used to have female name. Any advice?

James, I completed my first apt. ship in 2005; the fee was $40. In addition, experience has taught me that conflicting guidelines sounds the trumpet of trouble. Finally, is your gut telling you to cancel? I am NOT suggesting one's inner voice is always right, only that it is usually correct.
I would cancel the shop. I think I know what company OldMan is referring to. I saw the $40 apartment shops and as I had not worked for the company googled reviews by shoppers. Seems quite a few shoppers had shops declined and were not paid for various reasons if any reason at all was given. I prefer not to spend time wasting my time and getting my blood pressure up to boot for nothing. Always good in the case of a company one is not familiar with to google reviews- I had an eye opening experience reading several shoppers with the same problems related to such shops.

I also suggest you search comments here about the MSC you’re dealing with. There’s a lot of good experience shared here that can save you much grief.

I just got done doing one for them and It went fine. I have another one coming up next week. They were looking for someone to complete it this week. I told the scheduler that I could not complete this week but could next week if that was ok. They scheduled me the job. It is a shop anyone but in the guidelines it still says call 2 or 3 times a day. Anyway, I have gotten to emails now that says their records show that I have not been calling. I replied back and said that when I took this job, it would no be completed until next week. The due date is July 16th. I then asked why do I need to call everyday if it is a shop anyone. They replied and I quote "The due date is 7/16. Please keep in mind the due date is the date the completed report is due to us. Also, it may take more than one day to reach someone. Thank you." All I can say is that if it takes more than a day to reach ANYONE, the apartment complex has some serious issues.

I just did an $220 apartment shop where I called 3-4x/day for 11 days. Yes, about 35 calls!!!

It was pretty outrageous, nobody answered the phone - the agents just switched over the phones to the Call Center from 10-6. Finally got someone by calling at 0959 and they accidentally answered when they picked up the phone receiver to transfer all calls to the Call Center, lolol.
Great pay for never speaking to anyone! I guess the agents were not anxious to rent anything! And I bet the owners of the property will not be anxious to keep them employed.
