Planogram Shops @ Big Box Store

Has anyone ever done these shops? Where you go into a big box hardware store or big box electronic store, and take pictures of the pricing for different department appliances? It doesn’t seem too hard and the pay is decent. Would like to hear your feedback if you’ve completed them smiling smiley

Never saw it before today. It piqued my interest. I was hoping for a Best Buy, where I could spend the whole day, crow like a rooster and still draw no attention from employees. But there might actually be someone paying attention in the stores I see listed. I might try one if they're still available, but I'm booked for now.
I picked up one at BB to try. I skipped the ones at the big box hardware stores because I figure they’ll have a lot more displays. Hopefully it goes smoothly.
And, POOF! They're gone! I guess they reconsidered that pay rate. I knew it was too good to be true.
I haven't done one. There's a lot available where I am, though. Skimming the guidelines, I did a similar fact-finding mission some weeks ago to purchase some new kitchen appliances.

These stores are huge, though, with a large amount of inventory on display. Unfortunately, not my cup of tea.

I picked up two at Best Buy. Hoping nobody bothers me. But they don't have a huge appliance section so hoping it goes well. The pay was too good to pass up.

I know that I'm completely invisible in most stores, especially hardware and electronics stores. I can stand in front of an associate and take pictures of anything, they will never engage. They will look at me and pretend they didn't see me, then turn and walk away quickly. It happens EVERY time. ONE time I went to Lowe's and an associate, older man about my age, asked me if he could help me in the major appliances section. I almost fainted, no one ever talks to me voluntarily in those stores.
Yes, I have done a dozen of them over the past three months. Yes, the pay is decent, but these shops are about the furthest from simple or easy that you will find. After doing a dozen of them, it takes me about four hours each to do one of them. It is much more than merely taking pictures, checking stock, and deciphering a plannogram. You will probably not be able to get through one of these shops without some pre-shop coaching and reading the guidelines several times. However, the pay is great.
It's good to research the stores. The Best Buy's near me are huge, too. Further out though, it's much smaller.

If it takes 4 hours in addition to drive time to and from the store, the pay is not so decent IMO. They are $50 each in my area. That’s less than minimum wage!

I think you may be talkkng about the other best buy jobs that are more involved. These are taking pics of appliance pricing only. No inventory or anything else. These just popped up on presto.
I completed one at BB yesterday. They have more appliances than I thought. Just need to be organized. Luckily, the app only allows you to upload 20 pics in each category so you will likely have 40 or more pics of fridges for those that are not part of a display or an endcap. It is good that I had extra because some came out blurry or had a glare. It did take some time to sit there and upload all of the pics. I DON'T recommend doing the pics in the app. We all know presto likes to not save certain pics at times. Plus it takes longer because you have to wait for each one to upload a save. I did the endcaps first, then the displays and then I did all of the in-line shots. Nobody bothered me, not a soul. Nobody even in the appliance area.

I have another tonight but I have to make sure the time won't run out before I can upload the pics.

How long would you say that you were at the store? I have one tonight and after reading these comments I am a little scared.

I was in the store for about 35 minutes. Uploading the pics took some time but I did that at home.
I was prepared to say I was doing research as I am about to replace all of my appliances. At first I pretended to look at stuff, open doors, etc but nobody was around so I just said screw it.
Did one today for FREE! I took almost 90 pictures and while uploading in the various photo section ran out of time and Presto ended the job. Lost all my data and have to wait 24 hrs if it is still there. The job was not easy to do but surprisingly the survey was structured in a format that was easy to follow. The employee working the departments is key to the successful completion. In my case he didnt care thst I was taking the photos but did inquire as to whether I needed assistance.if asked to leave it is a partial payment however I did not see what that amount was in the guidelines.
There must be multiple of these because the instore is anout 30 minutes and then an hour to upload at home for the one I did.
I did a similar shop at a chain vitamin store. I took hundreds of pictures, verifying the planogram. I made my cash purchase and requested a receipt. The cash register was broken. I think that's why this location was shopped.

My Best Buy audits are Presto, but I think you are correct. I was not aware there was a short version Best Buy audit that included only appliance pics.
These jobs had the word "Planogram" in the title.

Does anyone know how long it takes for these to get approved and paid? I know some of the jobs on Presto take longer than others.

I think it said up to 5 days but i am past that. Did 2, wanted to do more but not until i had feedback. Don't feel like getting screwed. Besides something easier came along for the same money.
I decided to give it a try and am doing my firs for the otter, at Home Despot- appliances.

No issues with the employees whatsoever, but the instructions asked for more than 200 photos and didn't specify if it was all brands or just the sponsor’s.

We are required to do everything on site and each item requires a perfect image of the item plus Tag and all info …but there is only 1 bar of LTE reception and no WiFi inside the building so can’t do them in the app as required. Only workaround I could think of was to just shoot them all and hope to get them uploaded in the parking lot after.

2 hours already and counting. Due by morning.

Any tips are greatly appreciated…

On the report, it only allows you to upload 20 pictures per appliance category…. So maybe they just need 20 in each category?

Also, not all categories had end caps and fixtures… I guess I just respond no…?

And the stoves and microwaves are really not in fixture frames, but are stacked one over the other in that aisle. Is that considered a “fixture? “

And each place in the survey requires a “response” photo, except there are only 3 end caps with refrigerators, and they want 5.

Check this out before you go- No cell reception or WiFi , so the app was useless. Same story in most big box and grocery stores.

I had to shoot without it, then do manual uploads in the parking lot (because the instructions (as opposed to guidelines) warned that if we drive off site without uploading and answering all and the app closes we could lose all the data and they can disqualify us)… but there were just 3 bars, so the app kept crashing and I had to reload 3x anyways.

Photos were a breeze to get but I’ve gut 4 hours in and can’t submit because there are blank spaces in parts of the report because the store didn’t have all the displays they asked us to shoot.

I reached out to “support” but no reply. Anyone know work-around for that?

This could have taken less than 2 hours without the malfunctions,

There should be no blank spaces. If the section is for end cap photos of dishwashers and there were none, you chose NONE and then the photo option goes away. Each section has this question so go back and make sure you chose an answer for each section. Send me a private message if you need more help!! I did two, neither of them reviewed yet so who knows if I did it correct!

Unfortunately I’m not able to make changes and there has been no reply from “support” in over 24 hours, even with a follow up outreach, so this is my first and last “Presto” Ipsos assignment.

I won’t work with anyone that refuses to communicate, especially about a first assignment.
