Sitting in Five Guys for 15 minutes after getting meal.

Does anyone think this is ridiculous if you are the only one in the place? Obviously I follow the rule and sit there for 15 minutes but at times I think it makes me more obvious if I am not eating everything. Directions say Five Guys watches cameras to be sure you sit there for the full 15 minutes. Any comments

I just eat the peanuts. I take the fries home. I agree sitting there is sometimes dumb. Luckily for me the last time, it started getting busy with several people coming in, so I wasn't the only clown sitting there.

I have had times when I was the only one.

I'm sure the employees can figure out who the shoppers are because who's looking over to see the shaking of the fry basket. Most customers that order in are not paying attn to anything other than their phone.

The best scenario is the online order. But that does not come around often enough. That is when I don't bother staying.
I work on my report during that time and enjoy my Freestyle drink.
The worst is the 9:30pm scenario. You know 99% of the time no one else will be there. So it's the "lets all watch the shopper" show for the employees.
I must be a slow eater. I'm usually there over 15 mins. Well, when I got those higher fee shops...those were the days, my friends, we thought they'd never end...

Ah, the last scrapings off the grille.
Eat, drink, shell some peanuts, look at your phone, work on the report, get up and go to the rest room-those employees couldn't care less about you, 15 minutes is nothing.

I would go in at 9:32 and there were almost always take out orders after mine. Now they have all changed to being open until 11 PM, so the shop winfow opens at 10:30 PM. I won't go for my normal fee. Just too late, and while eating dinner at 9:30 is a stretch, eating it at 10:30 is not reasonable fir me.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
Sitting for 15 minutes seems normal to me. I don't want to eat faster than that. If I'm not eating everything, it's just a nice amount of time to catch my breath.

I think some of you all are misinterpreting their instructions. It's 15 minutes after you're served, not 15 minutes after you finish your meal.
Anyone who scarfs down a meal in under 15 minutes is not someone I want to be hanging with.

Oh! I was so confused. I took it as they aren't eating the food, they are getting it and then taking it home after sitting 15 minutes waiting for it to be OK to leave. In which case, yeah, they absolutely look like a shopper.
I knew 15 minutes after i get food. It does not take 15 minutes to eat a burger (fries are taken home). I use the time opening peanuts and reading content on phone. Just looks dumb when you are the only one there.

This is not In N Out which is packed all day long every day.

Although one time I did the online order, the place was so busy that they were way behind on all orders. I had to wait over 20 minutes after my pickup time for my order to come up.

I eat slowly but can definitely be finished with my little bacon burger in under 15 minutes. I don't eat but maybe 3-5 fries as I don't really like their fries that much and the burger fills me up. I read emails and exchange a few texts with friends or family in between bites to slow it down (I usually am eating alone on those shops).

Last year I was eating at one of the many locations in my area (I think there are 5 of them within a 15 mile radius) and I saw a manager standing in the doorway leading to the back room behind the kitchen with a photo in his hand staring at me and back at the photo. I was the only person in the location at the time. He looked at another employee and shook his head no, as if to indicate it wasn't me. I had heard that they do take stills from video when they think the shopper might be there to get an idea of who it is. Since I only do these shops when they are highly bonused, I might eat at the same location 2x a year, though lately less because someone in my area is taking them at $9...so guess they have someone else's pic.
Orrrrrrr...you could take part of the 15 mins to write something provocative and thoughtful like Maverick does on the MysteryShopForum while you are waiting...or just write something funny!
Any idea why the report requires the Transaction sequence- a long series of letters and numbers- when the receipt is attached to the report?
Perhaps to void the transaction from the stores' P/L statement or bonus programs that may be in place since the purchas is reimbursed by corporate? Don't know, just speculation.

Oh, you were talking about the report smiling smiley

Please don't feed the MSF trolls!

Feeding the MSF trolls bread or other human food is detrimental to their health and the environment. It can lead to malnutrition, disease, and behavioral problems in trolls, as well as water pollution and the spread of pests. Trolls are capable of finding their own food sources and don't require human assistance.
I sit at restaurants all the time after I finish eating. Not a big deal.
Let me understand what you're saying here... you guys are ordering your food, watching the kitchen while your food is cooked, getting your food, eating your food and then waiting for 15 minutes AFTER you finish eating? Do real people do that? Have the guidelines changed that drastically in the 3 or 4 years since I've gone to Five Guys?
Morle...You have to stay for 15 minutes after you receive your food, not after you've finished eating.

It's never been a problem for me. I eat slowly and observe the goings on, check restroom, refill my drink and 15 minutes are gone.

As I said above that's not the requirement. Some people were badly misreading what they said.
Thanks Weatherman and MsJudi, I didn't think the guidelines could have changed that much. I don't think I eat slowly, but it still takes me more than 15 minutes to eat my burger, and fries, then go to the restroom after I finish eating. So I don't hang around after I'm done.

I don't have any exes here in AL, but I still can't bring myself to sit with my back to the door. So I find a table against a wall so I can see the door and the rest of the goings on.
haha. it takes you 15 minutes to eat a burger? are you taking tiny baby bites?

Or, like Carls, to make sure you’re not earning points in the app for a reimbursed meal.
