The impacts of late reports

I've read a number of posts here over the years about people whose submitted reports took a long time to get approved.
It's been happening to me lately.
But here's my thought? isn't this a big deal for the MSC?
I am out some bucks while the approvals are delayed - but isn't the MSC out even more $$? aren't they incentivized to get reports in and that's why set rigorous deadlines?

What would be a reason that an MSC would not be in a hurry to get a report approved?

All seems reasonable, but, the MSC's know their own pay cycles for receiving payment from their clients, just as we know our pay cycles from the MSC's. So, they know they can, if needed, wait for deadlines to approach before editing if they are short-handed and there is a lot floating in the editing pool. It seems to me this happens a couple of times a year, when I am waiting for my own to be edited and I see them still in "completed" status. Sigh.
I agree with purple. I also think some of it is they are understaffed for all the reports hitting all at once.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Just another of the dichotomies of the biz.

MSCs expect attention to detail from their shoppers while not practicing it themselves. So they can stick their nitpicky guideline bs where the sun don't shine.

They have sticks up their collective asses about late reports, but do not take responsibility for the works clogging up post-submission, making their performance late.

The way I roll with my routes I tend to get behind with reports.

The nature of the Ipsos scheduling approach allows considerable flexibility. I will try to knock out as many reports as I can while onsite, and then get as caught up as I can when I sit down for meals, but there are only so many I can effectively crank out in a day on the road.

I've yet to have a report bounce because it wasn't in by midnight on the actual shop date.

A couple of other MSCs that I work for monthly know they are going to get my reports first thing in the morning following the scheduled shop date.

When I've been out for hours on end the last thing I want to do when I get to my hotel is transcribe a car wash audio recording into a poorly formatted online report form.

I can guarantee more efficiency and accuracy when I have a cup of coffee with me the following morning.
