Pizza Hut

Looks like a carryout shop.
I've never done one, are they a PITA?
I know we're each different in how we assess that, yada yada yada
but feedback is appreciated.

Life was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on

What's a carryout shop?
It's a few specific pictures and/or screenshots from the app. Overall pretty easy.

Order food, go in the location pick it up and eat it somewhere else.

Yep, easy, especially considering there's hardly any comments required. Out of the way locations can get decent bonuses after a while.

There was another thread about it last month - [www.mysteryshopforum.com]
@BarefootBliss

Its several pictures including flipping the half the pizza upside down. It's not hard, but you have to like what they tell you to order (no modifications). I have done a few, but it's not something I get excited about or look forward to.

Love them Pizza Hut shops.

I did a small route through West Texas one time...I think there were 4 of them along Hwy 83. I’d stop, pick it up, drive to a parking lot somewhere else, take the 6 pics, eat a slice then give the rest of it to a homeless guy or gal. Made me feel good to do that--lord knows the last time they had something hot to eat. I think they were $28 each. Listened to the ballgame on XM radio eating pizza and drinking coke. Not a bad way to spend a spring evening.
@metro25782

Glad you like them so much. I would rather do a 5g meal with more pay and less play (pictures) and order what I want. Pizza Hut is not great. It will feed you, but PH, PJ, Dominos are all versions of BK/MCD/JITB/Wendy's for pizzas. Nothing great, but serves a purpose.
Just make sure you have your Sharpie handy! They are pretty easy shops once you get used to the various picture requirements. I suggest not eating your first pizza until you have all the pics uploaded and the shop submitted.
These are great shops if you’re traveling. We often look for them when on vacation, especially when staying at a timeshare. This week we are traveling in Maine. Picked one up for lunch on the road tomorrow. It’s easy to order and pick up the pizza, take it to a park, take a few pictures and then have lunch.
In addition to your Sharpie, make sure you know what you are supposed to write and where on the inside of the box you're supposed to write it. They sometimes make minor changes to this guideline.
Pizza Hut shops are pretty simple a few very specific pics, and times. I think my son told me that they are pepperoni and mushroom this time so I'm not interested, I don't eat mushrooms. But even at base pay it's not a bad deal.
@Morledzep

You can pick the shrooms off after the pictures. It's not that big of a deal. I don't like mushrooms either, but I did this round.
LOL HB, Nope.. can't do it. I can still smell and taste the mushrooms. It's not a texture thing, which is usually my issue with foods that make me gag. This is a flavor thing, the smell and flavor of mushrooms is as disgusting to me as liver and onions and strawberries.
Just as an aside...I was, I’m sure, this location’s worst nightmare one day. Did the shop (a local one), came home and put on my nitrile gloves to do the pictures.

I notice the pizza (medium pepperoni) looks weird but whatever...

I turn over the first slice and all of the pepperoni falls of. The same with the second slice. All of the slices don’t have pepperoni that was baked into the pizza with the cheese. They cooked the pepperoni after and put it on top.

Now they either had a cheese pizza laying around with the same crust style and just cooked the pepperoni and put it on top.

OR (and this is likely what happened....)

They, for one of the few times ever, just forgot to put the pepperoni on the pizza that was purchased...by a mystery shopper....who works for a company....that demands pictures of a pizza...turned over...

I don’t know what sort of Perry Mason type treatment the employees may get when they screw up but I could just see the manager with the pictures laying them out like Gibbs on NCIS.
Regarding the mushrooms-lo- I like mushrooms a lot, but these mushrooms tasted earthy and gross. They would be better using canned mushrooms than uncooked mushrooms. So I am cosigning @moreledzep who said they can't just pick them off-it's possible they leave behind a flavor. Also general PSA: the pictures and questionnaire are slightly different from the last round of pepperoni pan pizza, so be sure to review before you do the shop/eat your first slice.
handtossed- the crusty is too doughy and bland. not enough marinara. bland. but i am not allowed to ask for extra marinara or a longer bake time.
It's now 7 photos of the pizza and of course the confirmation email and the receipt photos. Not hard to do. This month it was pepperoni, Italian sausage, and mushrooms. I like all those things so I do them when I have other shops for other MSCs in the area. This round it can be done anytime after the location opens up until 8pm, I believe. I will do a few on my way home from whatever other shops I am doing and take the photos, then I come home, eat a slice of each, and freeze the rest. I like pizza for breakfast when I am on my way out the door to work. This works for me.

You had me at Italian Sausage
I enjoy these. You order carryout thru the app/site, log the time it takes to receive, observe the customer service, upload some screenshots/pics of the paper receipt/emailed confirmation and then a series of pizza photos. Make sure you get some napkins while you have to manipulate the pizza for the pics (one slice, underside, all apart etc) and have a handy sharpie in your car to write the location/date on the inner-box for some of the photos.

As for what you order, yes, its a specific type/size of pizza that you can't divert from - medium pan with pepperoni, large hand tossed with sausage and mushrooms, etc. I grew up with the brand so I still dig the flavors. I just wish they reopened their dining rooms under that distinct roof line so I can wait for it to finish while playing a tabletop Ms. Pac-Man.

Note to self: Take all the top pictures before flipping over the pieces lol.

I am disappointed these aren't on self-assign this round. I was going to do the one in my town this saturday, but I was already out running errands and didn't want to wait to see if the scheduler would assign it in a short period of time.

I believe in some cases they don't do self-assign because they have a quota and won't assign more than needed. I was able to self-assign one of the medium pan sausage pizza shops, though, while the other shops for sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom required me to apply.

Ah, that makes sense. I think they used to just block out all the dates once they hit quota, so you couldn't ever self assign without a date.
I did a couple a few years back. No issues. Last couple of times they were crazy picky...online order had to be done in a certain window and pickup the same. I think they banned me...

It seems they don't work weekends so anything you apply for Friday will still be sitting in your applications by Monday. Happened to me - several times.

I guess they don't need shoppers, then! But I am pretty sure that if they aren't self-assign, they have basically met the quota, at least for now. Sometimes they'll adjust them so you can self-assign, and that might be because there were cancellations or reports that were not approved. Maybe someone from the MSC can provide more insight on this.

I applied for one for two Saturdays ago and it sat in My Apps. Saturday passed and it was still there, but the shop was still on the board. I canceled my app and applied for the same shop for Monday. Monday morning passed and it was still in My Apps. However, now the same shop was on the board with Self Assign for Monday's date only. So, I canceled my app and assigned it to myself for that same day (Monday). Weird.
I did exactlythe same thing. Definitely wierd.
