scanners/cameras

Now mind you that I am not set up to do this remotely. I use a scanner and have seldom had any complaints about docu clarity. I really prefer it b/c I am all set up and easy to scan and upload. However got an email from a scheduler indicating that I should use a camera phone b/c the print comes out clearer. True?

It depends on the scanner, camera, how steady your hands are, lighting condition, etc.

Unless you have a pretty old scanner or there's something wrong with it, I don't see why you should change your system based on that scheduler's opinion.

The issue is whether the document clarity is acceptable with your scanner and not whether the document clarity may improve with a camera phone. I'm pretty sure the scheduler is not offering to pay for a camera phone for you.

If you have a camera phone already, you can always experiment.
It depends on the scanner and what you're scanning. If you have a fairly old scanner and are trying to scan photos/mixed documents, the camera phone probably would be better. If you have a relatively new scanner, you're probably in good shape. In fact, I would bet about 50% of the time, a flatbed scanner would produce better results than a camera when scanning receipts.
Check your scanner's resolution settings. 300 dpi should be the default and is gracious plenty. I can't think of any reason why a scanned image wouldn't be clearer than a photograph. I wonder if maybe your scanned files are too big? You might try dropping the scan resolution to 150 DPI.

Yes my scanned file is large. Would that have an impact. Will delete,
Unless the glass on your scanner is dirty it is always better than a photo. If your file size is too large you can resize it with IRFRAN view or similar program. With irfran view go to image scroll down to resize resample then choose on the right side of the box, 640 x 480 and press OK then you can save and name the file what you need to. this file should be quick to upload on any of the websites.

HOPE this helps
