Please help me out here. How is a portable scanner better than taking a picture and uploading the picture?

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.

They use AA batteries and yes I use it in the car and outdoors. Mary, it's actually the same difference: photos or scanned. I just find scanning easier. And I use the scanner for other things besides receipts, at my day job. It's little and portable so it fits in my purse. Easy to use and I love it.

Not sure why scanners anymore at all if you have a smart phone. You can have it emailed from phone to computer instantly.
Free or at worst Turbo scan for a buck for life.

I personally would not buy a portable scanner unless I had to take a lot of pictures in low light conditions or if my hands were too unsteady to take good pictures with a camera phone or camera.

Me either. And to think it had never even crossed my mind to take digital photos of my receipts until i came to this forum! : )

PS: I never scan anything anymore!

Whatever works, but I get a much better image with a scanner for receipts, biz cards and other docus than camera.

Honestly, the image quality with my camera or phone is pretty darn good. I figure as long as it is legible, it is good enough.

I dont have any idea about portable scanner deal. I use 808 car keys Micro_camera and they are giving me trouble.
They dont come on sometimes, sometimes too they dont go off after removing from the charger. I need different types of portable video/photo camera device.

I would never use an 808 Car Keys Micro Camera to take photos of my receipts.

My phone photos are always accepted without me doing any editing. My camera photos have to be resized for some companies, so I rarely use it. I rarely use my scanner even when at home because the phone is quicker.
