March has been the best and the WORST month

In terms of jobs, March has been my best ever. Lots of jobs and mostly with good pay. Financially this has been a great month.

In terms of luck, this month has su**ed big time

1) Dishwasher breaks; need new pump

2) Furnace breaks after hours and it's 15 C (appx 10 F?) and snowing

3) Last night I got home after a 4 shop day only to find that when my wife used my laptop in the afternoon, it somehow either re installed windows or partitioned into a new drive and re installed. Regardless, the OS is a new install and everything I had on there is now gone. Gone. I opened up my back up HD...it's damaged as well...I have no electronic records of anything I've done up to yesterday...I'm taking the laptop into the shop today

When the wind turns against us, we must face into it and let it lift us up...

OH good, you are having a month like me...nice to know it isn't only me! LOL.

1. My female black lab got pyometra (deadly uterine infection), I was not rich enough to pay for surgery $1650. So...I found a group called Labrador Lifeline that was kind enough to donate half the money to save her life. (curse and blessing smiling smiley )

2. The night before my dogs surgery, I was on a shop 100 miles from home. The light changed from green to red. I applied my brakes and they went straight to the floor. Luckily it was only me in my lane and the light was just changing as I blew my horn and flew through the intersection freaking out. I then proceeded to go through 2 stop signs before I came to a stop in a town I had no idea even existed until Sunday. No biggie, I have AAA plus. Well....those jerks took 5 hours to get to me because their drivers didn't want a long haul. Excuse me??? Isn't that what I have been paying for, for 10 years???? Just to add insult to injury, I had to pee...the whole time waiting. They kept telling me 30 minutes, 45 minutes.... and so on. So I didn't have time to get out of my car and venture far to find a restroom. Never did find one, was seriously thinking of popping a squat in the children's park I was in...it was close to midnight by the time AAA got to me!

3. Had to figure out how to get dog to vet for emergency surgery Monday 830 AM when I didn't get home night before until 2 AM.

4. Dog had surgery survived doing well!!!

5. I have 80 BP's left to do, my car was out of commission for a week (I was talented enough to blow both break lines at once, the brake booster and master cylinder). Very expensive, especially when I pledged $300 of my own money to go toward the dog surgery. This was a must for the rescue to help. The vet does NOT take payments.

6. Got my car back, the brakes still don't seem right...the pedal is very soft and I don't stop quickly. $500!

7. I got back on the road today, only 4 shops left for the day 1.5 hours away from home my brother calls (who was watching my 3 yo) he and my dad/step mom had a huge fight and my daughter was extremely upset because of all the yelling. No more shops for today, had to abandon all shops because my baby needed me.

I just need time now. Lots of it! So much to do. sad smiley Praying for a better April, May, June......
SAM--->It has been 5 days ---->have you gone to the restroom yet?confused smileyconfused smiley Was it stocked and clean? Those auto repair shops RR are a lot to be desired.

Sorry for your automotive mishaps.

I read most posts as if it is happening today until I see the date. But all if fair in love and war.smiling smileysmiling smiley
Sorry to hear about all you troubles. I hope things get MUCH better for both of you!
Update needed. smiling smiley

Dog had her operation and is great! Vet bill was taken care of by a very generous group called Labrador Life Line. I have got to say they are wonderful people. The caseworker for my dog was available around the clock. She pushed the request through the council group and got it approved. She still keeps contact to make sure my dog, America, is well and happy. smiling smiley

Car, well....it is "fixed" but something is still not exactly right. I pray every time I go down the side of a mountain, keep a hand on the emergency brake, and look on the other side to see, if my brakes let loose, where I can wreck "safely".

I finally got to go to the restroom 7 hours after my car broke. smiling smiley I can now go whenever I want, unless on a gas station route and they don't have public restrooms, which seemed to be the norm on Friday. Lol.

Thank you for asking and listening to my rant.

One quick mention, if you have a sick Lab and need help with a vet bill, don't be afraid to contact Labrador Lifeline. They were really wonderful, caring, doggy lovin' people!
