Maybe that's why she's afraid of leashes. :-)

Roxie, for some reason she was afraid of brooms most of her life. She is quite elderly now but we've had her since she was one year old and the previous owner got her from the litter. I've often wondered if something happened to her as a puppy that makes her afraid like this. Yet, when a nice dog was being walked by its owner, our other dog barked at it and this dog was there between them in a minute with her hackles up: "Don't you do anything to my doggie friend!" Our other dog was on a leash. I was embarrassed that this dog did that but the other dog owner was not perturbed.
