Gas prices rising - what's yours?

It depends for me. Am I going straight to a certain destination? Then yes I widdle away any extra expenses. If I am shopping a route to a destination, like I will be doing to go to NJ for training, then I will make sure to hit as many major cities to maximize my earning.
I once went from TX to MT and saved $200. It was a straight shot without any time to stop since I was on a deadline. I have also gone from Odessa TX to Phoenix the long way, up through NM. I made just over a grand and saved $100.

Just lost trying to find a fire pit in a concrete jungle wishing it was a wooded glen...

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all

And what you might the training be for, Ms gypsymonkey? Time share sales for a resort company, perhaps??? :-)

No I actually am turning it down. It just doesn't feel right. I am comfortably in my rut of incessant traveling. Putting down roots would upset my inner balance and make me somber. I just can't leave the road just yet. I really don't know if I ever could leave the road. Money isn't the be all, end all. Happiness is. My happiness is on the road being able to hike, camp, fish, hunt, and occasionally shop. I can't explain it, it is just me!

I am going to NJ to learn about video and audio mystery shopping. I figure if I shop like that anyway, why not get paid the big bucks to do so. Ok Ok I know it's not a lot of money but it does open a few more venues for me to shop at.

gypsy, I'm happy to hear you've sorted it out and made a decision that was absolutely right for you! It just seems that you have more travels to do, before you find what you're seeking.

When you changed your sig, I thought, perhaps, you had opted for the money and security....and I'd still be rooting you on!

@stilllearning,I cut my signature because I thought it may seem pretentious and a tad long. I still tell people that give me heck about traveling that my mind is like my home. It is always going. It is not stuck behind 4 walls. Besides have you ever seen nature to be square? The only was to be truly stuck is within a square. That is why nature is round and flowing. It can never be trapped. Thank you for rooting me on. It was a difficult decision and it meant the possibility of turning down thousands however every time I thought of the money, my stomach churned and my head throbbed. The reality was the money was great but my inner sanity is priceless as is my health.

$3.59 on average

Clothing pricing has me confused, though. Seems like all over town, women's dresses are going up while men's pants are coming down.
Just got back from the city (San Francisco) 4.17, but only 4.09 in the subs....

Live consciously....
Just checked Gas Buddy where the cheapest near me (1.8 miles) is $3.63 for unleaded. My car burns E85 but very few stations around me sell it. Last I saw, it was $3.25.
A month and a half since I started this thread and we are now at 3.69 - or 32 cents per gallon higher!
It was $3.73 here a week or so ago (last time I filled up) but with my Fred Meyer's Rewards points, I saved thirty cents per gallon! smiling smiley

I was very excited yesterday to see the cheapest of the cheap at 3.89. I'm a little further West today and don't expect to see anything so low.
I should move 4.40 for regular Southern California! Ug

I just saw it for 3.87 at a more expensive gas station in Providence, RI. But I have been getting it for in the 3.60s in Mass, where my real job is.
Prices have actually fallen a couple cents, I saw today anywhere from 3.99 to 4.17.

i dont pay full price for gas...

10-20 cents off a gallon of gas for grocery stores in the area tops and giant eagle
3 cents off at every shell station or 5 cents off if i get a gift card
5 cents off a gallon of gas for co fair... a very large local chain... 77 stores in a 100,000 pop city

if im up by my girlfriends house there is a pilot station that is usually about 15 cents cheaper than the inner city

oh and 3.64-3.79 a gallon here...

i believe i read that every 10 cents gas goes up it sucks $8,000,000,000 out of the rest of the US economy... and that is 8 billion bucks

shopping north west PA and south west ny
