For computers you are going to use all the time I would recommend buying a business class computer and if you buy a laptop for sure and if you buy a desktop, and space is not an issue buy the largest case it will have the best airflow and heat is what kills computers.
The Dell outlet has some good deals and 4 -6 times a year Dell will have coupons for 20-30% off which can make for a great deal.
Many of the business class computers will come with 3 years of next business day service so you don't need to bring the computer anywhere and it will be fixed fast.

Dell has a nice 12" laptop for 644.00 with 8GB of RAM and a solid state hard drive ( won't fail from being dropped) with 3 years of onsite support.
They have a 20" all in one for 552.00 with 3 years of support and a touch screen. The 3 year warranty is worth about 200.00 squaretrade wants 250.00 it includes accidents but you have to ship it back.
I have more computers than you can count on two hands but the other day a simple connector failed in my basement and killed my internet connection took me 3 hours to figure it out!
That was when I was trying to print my shop paperwork for the 13 shops I had the next day!
