What are you having for dinner? AGAIN!

Noooo, MLZ! Marie Callender's is out of a box! However, in a pinch, I have bought, LOL. Do you drink a lot of water? Our MO is lots of it, preferably boiled and cooled or boiling hot. I have had my entire office and many client interactions commenting about my hot water or how I am going to "float away." I usually just ignore them.

Bare, it IS very good. One of these days I'm going to stop buying Marie Calendar's and make my own, I'm a better cook than her.

I was home for 2 whole days, and most of a 3rd. I had to get away from wheat for a bit, my stomach was sticking out past my boobs and I could just barely waddle. I had scrambled eggs with sausage gravy, salads, all in nice small portions. My stomach is back to limiting my portions, and I'm quitting before the pain starts. So I'm feeling better. I had to do a BWW today, so I got boneless wings and fries, then I drank an iced coffee from one of the gas stations my son did (those coffees in the can always act like a laxative on me). Then we both got bowls at Panda, using my points before coming home.

My Mama just put a huge pot of soup on. Lily roots, water chestnuts, winter melon, tofu, dried mushrooms, bok choy. This was a staple when we were young and growing up. I've learned to love it in my older age as well as my family. When we were young, it was like a get it over with, go wonder. Later we will have kiwi, papaya, Cara Cara oranges, sponge cake and tea.
Made,

Marie Calendar's pies in the store are different, no doubt. But I have eaten Marie Calendar's pies from the restaurant BEFORE they sold them in the grocery store (yes, I'm old). When they were still made in the restaurant. My pies were better then too.. But I didn't know about Razzleberry back then, because it was invented by Marie Calendar's.
Aha! My Mom told me they have Marie Callender stores on the West Coast where we visit frequently. I do not recall seeing any in the areas we were at. I have not heard of them being served at a restaurant but TOUCHE!

Oh yea, my kids used to take me to Marie Calendar's for Mother's Day brunch every year.. You go in, pay and the most of the food is on a buffet line, while slices of pie are just set out on tables everywhere in the restaurant. And they have a custom omelette bar too. I think they still have a few restaurants in southern California, when we moved there was still a restaurant on the back side of the Moreno Valley mall.

When we were kids Marie Calendars was all the rage, they had restaurants all over and were adding more all of the time. My mother liked Marie Calendar's, my dad was into Knott's Berry Farm and Mrs. Knott's restaurants (their food was really bad), their big claim to fame was inventing Boysenberries.
My son made another sheet pan thing with pork cutlets, potatoes, broccoli and onions. My plate was mostly potatoes and meat, I don't know how much broccoli he put on the pan, but I only got a few small pieces. I know he bought gingerale today at one of his shops, but all I got to drink was water. Which fine, I don't usually drink soda at home unless my stomach is upset.
linguini with marinara sauce

fresh Italian bread

Pizza delivery for DH and me. Eggplant and mushrooms with extra cheese, salad and garlic knots. Yummy. Pears, kiwi, pound cake and decaf cappuccinos.
My son got a bunch of kielbasa from dumpster diving, still ice cold, packages still sealed. So we're going to eat them with cabbage and/or potatoes and green beans like we did when they were kids.

Last night we had chicken strips from a gas station, salad, and lemon blueberry muffins. It was not the worst thing I've eaten all week..

I made myself some pork chops and rice! I pre-brown the pork chops on the stove. I mix instant rice, a can of Campbell's chicken soup, and cream of mushroom soup with enough water for the rice. Put the chops in and top with stripped bell pepper, stripped onions, salt, and pepper. Cook until chops are tender! OMGosh! So good!

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
tortellini with alfredo sauce
mixed greens and broccoli
some kind of baked granola pear & berry crumble
green tea
a couple pieces of bit o honey candy - wow old time candy

Cabbage salad with avocado dressing.... Maple Chicken with rice
I had one of the best burgers of my life today (well yesterday) ..it wasn't the bun,
it wasn't the trimmings - it was the quality of the beef...and I am picky about ground beef, so there you go lol.
and it wasn't terribly expensive either - cheaper than FG even and it was
at a nice sit down restaurant/bar
AND in these post - COVID + inflationary times, I was shocked when
the bartender brought a fee appetizer....homemade tots with a garlic dipping sauce.
It's got a brewery attached, so I had to try a small one....
It's near where I am living now...so I will definitely return.

Life was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on
tandoori chicken
basmati rice
2 kinds of salad
naan
lots of ginger tea

I've got nothing.. had a less than stellar experience at BWW, the food sucked and they asked me not to bring my son back with me. Thank goodness it's ok to do those shops alone. Oh well... The last few days we've been on the road at dinner time, I've had fast food, sub sandwiches, and salads when we got home. Nothing worth commenting on.
Shrimp Scampi, linguini, roasted asparagus, garlic rubbed Italian bread, apricots, pears.
was in a time crunch, popped into Trader Joes to get one of their frozen meals.
Some of them can be good.
We got the Detroit frozen pizza. Never again.

Oh well, today will be better.

MLZ, sorry to hear about your BWW experience - sad to say but some of the worst wings I have ever been served were at BWW, so stopped going.
Out west, I saw a chain called Wingstop but didn't try them out.

Life was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on
We have Wingstops here in AL too. And they are FAR better than BWW, but I've never seen a shop for them. We didn't do the "wings" shop at BWW, we did the dining experience shop. My son got the All American Burger and I got the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich. It was all bad.. over cooked, burnt, ruined. And the drink was candy sweet, or worse, sickeningly sweet.

We won't be going back to that location. Thankfully there are many BWW stores around here.

I DO love the Razzleberry! It’s the only store bought pie I’ll buy. It still tastes like the real fruit with a nice tartness rather than a batch of sugar in a crust with a few tasteless lumps.
Tonight I made pene chicken Alfredo with sun-dried tomatoes and peas, salad, home made iced tea, and brownies with berries and French vanilla ice cream ;-)

We were out all day, every day for the last week, I think.

Today I had 3 crunchy taco supremes at Taco Bell somewhere in TN.
When I got home I had a "SouthWest Chicken Salad" that I found marked down on a grocery shop the other day. and a ginger ale.
