What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Church was great today! We had a guest preacher from a mega church where I used to belong. She preached from Jeremiah, when Jeremiah was called to be a prophet at the age of 10 and he told God he was too young. God put the words in his mouth to speak to the people. The sermon was about how God will give us what we need to do his work.

After church was Thanksgiving dinner. That was my dinner for the week. On Thursday, I will be packing to move into my house.

First day with new and improved work situation. Handwriting holiday cards. Typing here because it provides a few moments of relief for the writing hand.

So I wonder: these days, when we keyboard and text more than use handwriting, are our hands weaker for handwriting and stronger for typing and texting?

Today I have my semi-annual visit with my oncologist for my breast cancer checkup. Hoping my labs all turn out well, as they have so far for the past 4+ years! Had my mammogram on my one remaining breast last Wednesday, so I'll get the results of that today. This coming Wednesday I see my surgeon who did the mastectomy for my annual visit....that one may be my last visit needed with him, as my surgery was 4 years and 10 months ago....hope so!!

Thanks Irene! It's amazing what good can happen with that loser out of my life.

I'm still waiting for a definite date for closing. The appraisal was done last week. The termite treatment will be this week. I had my big dinner at the church yesterday, so Thursday will be all packing in an organized manner.

That always works, right?

The crown I had put on my wisdom tooth back in September cracked, so today I went to the dentist for removal and prep work for a new one. This time instead of ceramic they're going to do gold, which they said should be much more durable. Since it's in the very back of my mouth I'm not concerned about anyone seeing it

Tonight I'm doing a bar evaluation. Alcohol and bar food should go a far way towards making the temporary aching go away :-)

Sorry I missed getting together with you two. Let me know the next time you come through town.

This afternoon there was a shooting at a Catholic supply store just a couple of miles from my house. The suspect is still on the loose. When I got home tonight I triple checked my doors and windows to make sure they were locked.

Coming home from my lunch there were about 20 people at the stop sign with pictures of a baby saying she was shot, please donate for her funeral.....oh, really heartbreaking.

I shopped for the five-day Thanksgiving weekend, taste-tasted the pie and pronounced it good, and did a little exercise to make up for it.

Today was homework. My final is next week. I have to submit a paper. I'm taking next term off to get settled in my new house.

Next to last day of working fer da man until December. I took the week after thanksgiving off, even though I had no plans. Turns out I was happy to schedule a bunch of shops, because to me that is much less work and much more fun then my 9-5. Maybe if I had to do it to make money I would find it more a drag, who knows, but right now I am happy to soon be relaxing with a dead bird and my family.

Today brings paper work, and finding Vegas jobs, got a tip from NV. scheduler that airport jobs will be coming out.
I just got a breakfast brunch at the Marriott across from the airport I'm taking, so nice start good pay and fee.
Food has never been my problem, now i'm looking for some retail jobs in Vegas, may be a bit early. Afternoon will go to SB and chat with friends, home to sweep garage after a major tree cutting/trimming in our development.
Waiting for rain, it will rain somewhere.
HAPPY TURKEY DAY.....

Fighting holiday traffic. Will make pumpkin pies, but I bought the apple. The store makes them prettier than mine.
The appraisal that was done last week came back lower than what I offered, but higher than the loan amount. The seller did a lot of work to the house, and I don't think that was taken into consideration. Mortgage Dude and my realtor did an addendum to the contract to lower the asking price. Hopefully, that will go through.

Work doesn't come into play when having a house appraised, they go by what other properties have sold for, location and many proven things,.
Fixing up a house before selling will get it sold, but not bring back every dollar you put into it, as people's taste's are different. Your Broker should have told you what other properties like yours sold for, but it's all about the money and if she/he can make a higher commission...well, once you signed the contact to buy at that price, it's a done deal.

This is Day III of Thanksgiving Dinner (because we started one day early). Once fortified, we will do a bunch of little errands, avoid Black Friday whoop-de-doo, and complete a few more of the seemingly endless projects.

I have been doing the math for various work contingencies: If this job ends or that job changes, or some project goes away, it won't matter much. It only means that I cannot afford bunches of expensive things that I don't want and will never miss. All is well.

Avoiding the stores, jammed parking lots, and know the sales will be going until after New Years, like always.
Today will be movie, eating, playing on computer, skyping and so on....perhaps making a spelling error here on the forum, and see if someone catches me....ahha Glad the holiday is over, now Channakah (spelled correctly) will be coming up Dec. 3rd for 7 nights. Favorite holiday and favorite potato latkes.

The seller lowered the asking price to the appraised value, then did a rebuttal using a previous appraisal and comps. I told my realtor i will not acknowledge previous appraisals.

Unless your lender's appraiser used invalid comps (unlikely, IMHO) the seller is going to lose.

After my shops I will be taking a circuitous route to 2 grocery places in order to avoid the local mall and its nearby roads. Also, one last load of laundry !
