What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I am waiting to hear back from the broker to see if closing is a go for tomorrow. I'm not on pins and needles or otherwise anxious. This team jumped through a lot of hoops to get the deal to happen.

I am 2 weeks into my 30 day vacation...it's going by rather quickly. On my way to the grocery store, then coming back to my cousin's house and will sit out by the pool in the sun for a few hours. I don't want to go home next month sad smiley
JAS, I'm glad you are enjoying your vacation!

Everything for me is in a holding pattern right now:

House: we are still waiting to see if we can close tomorrow. I had to send copies of my last two bank statements, signed by my banker. I scanned them and emailed them to me. They still haven't arrived. Broker is saying that is the hold up. I send him pictures of key pages. He says that won't work. I'm still waiting for the scans.

School: my final is due Sunday. I processed my name change with the school on Tuesday. In order to do it, they had to lock me out of my account for 48 hours. I should have been able to access my account today, but no.

Cell phone: FedEx whirlwind

Closing didn't happen yesterday. Maybe Monday or Tuesday.

I still can't access my school stuff.

Cell phone is still in limbo.

I'll be doing my healthy lunch place today, happy as I planned to be in that area going to Marshall's, and getting my week's supply of bagels from Noah's right next door. Seems I can't say anything without food being mentioned. Great weather, low 70's, this is what CA is all about.......really glorious. May go to pool later and visit with neighbors, no swimming, just relaxing.

Taking my 6 year old to the free craft that Home Depot does a couple Saturdays a month. Taking my 17 year old to the fire station to interview someone for a homework assignment.

Other than that, I've been working like crazy the last couple days to get the photos (over 3000 photos!) from our vacation in May organized into folders; then further organizing it into "more individualized" folders for each of our four kids; getting them onto a thumb drive and going to the library to make photo album books for part of their Christmas presents. I have today and tomorrow to get 70% off...and that's significant since each book, before the discount, is close to $100.
I had been planning on reading Michele Obama's "Becoming," today. However, with last night's news, I have decided to re-read George HW Bushs' "All the Best, George Bush: My Life in Letters and Other Writings"
@Jill_L.. Kudos to you. How do you find the energy?? I am just exhausted with one kid (6 year old daughter) Today finds me Grocery shopping, Costco, going on a play date for daughter besides cooking.
@Mum

I don't know...there are some days when I feel like things are falling down around me. I actually had a good cry a couple days ago, which is unusual for me. I have to say, though, that it was much harder when my 3 oldest (who are 17, 16, 13) were littles. Now they can feed and entertain themselves and they help feed and entertain the youngest.

I homeschool them, so they are busy with assignments pretty often. And I also tell them that home school is a privilege and that it takes away from my cooking, cleaning and "down" time. So they are really pretty good about cleaning up after themselves (okay...half the time....lol); they love to help me cook meals; and they all help the youngest out with his education to help me out....

All 4 are in soccer. Two oldest boys are in school (can play for any school when home schooled) and club soccer; All of the older 3 have been in dance for 7 years. Daughter has been in ballet, tap, jazz and is starting on pointe. Sons are just in ballet, but have tried hip hop, jazz, tap. All 3 of the older ones take piano lessons and also one takes guitar and one takes trumpet. All 4 have sign language classes. One is in chess club. One is in a book club.

My long lost cousin tried to get in touch via text last week and got an attitude because I didn't text back right away. I said...."Just because I don't respond in 30 seconds or 30 minutes or all day doesn't mean I'm ignoring you. It means I'm busy." His response, "How are you that busy? You're a stay at home mom??"

LOL.
Today i relaxed at the ocean and tonight we're celebrating my great- uncle's 80th bday. It's been so nice being around family
Thanks JAS! I'm actually doing okay. No stress.

I finally gained access to my school platform. I submitted my final first thing this morning. YAY!

The mortgage broker sent me a text asking me to come to his office for 30 minutes. Nope. I'm not that pressed.

I got my cell yesterday. I am having a ball getting it set up! It's a Samsung S7 Galaxy Edge.

I went to church this morning and then went to pick up my oldest son's girl friend and we all went to son's (indoor) soccer games (he had 2).

Then I went to Little Caesar's and got 6 pizzas for the kids....almost picked up a Papa John's shop, but that's only 1 pizza, so I passed...

My husband and all the kids dropped me off at the library so I could work on these photo albums I'm trying to get done for the kids for Christmas. I can't do them at home because our internet is so crappy that it takes forever to load photos, etc. I know, I know...I need to get different internet, but right now, I just need to get the albums done!

I got the one I'm giving to my parents done; and I also got my daughter's done. I got my middle son's started just before the library closed. grrrrr! I wanted to have so much more done because today is the last day of the "70% off deal...." So now, I have to still finish my middle son's and start new ones for the oldest and youngest.

The library closed at 6. I started to walk home. I figured the walk would be good for me. But it was so cold outside, I had to call husb and REMIND him that he FORGOT me! LOL

Now I'm in my pj's watching "How to Train Your Dragon" with my little guy and having (ugh) Little Caesar's pizza....
Put up Christmas decorations with Hubby's help.

Sounds like a lovely tradition with the gift opening, Irene.

For myself, before I go do 2 small MS/merch tasks, I've got to go get some blood drawn to check on the level of 2 cancer antigens specific for breast cancer. I have it done every 6 months, and so far, for nearly 4 years, they've been within normal limits. Here's hoping for the same!
Closing is Wednesday December 5! Yay!!

Congrats @HonnyBrown! I have spent the last few days catching up with old friends. It's been an amazing time.
That's great.

Today and yesterday were warm enough for my contractor/neighbor to remove and replace two of the 5 windows that I am upgrading. We will have to wait for another mild spell before he can start the three that will go into the housemate's bedroom. These are very energy efficient windows and should help to lower heating and cooling bills here. My townhouse is oriented due east/west so the summer solar gain has been terrific with the old windows. And the highest electricity bills here, in an all-electric house, are always in the summer.

I did an app shop yesterday at Pier1 Imports. The app was $20 off of $100 and reimbursement was $30. I'm thinking cool! New house, new Pier1 stuff!

That store was so junky. Most of the items looked like they came from a dollar store clearance. I spent 45 minutes walking around and came up with $87 worth of items.

HonnyBrown - congrats on the grade and closing. guysmom - hope you get good results. Put up a few decorations outside and now working a little every evening on the inside. It's helping to get in the holiday mood.
I became a homeowner at 1:30pm today!

Without going into detail, because of my ex-husband, I lost everything that I owned in 2016. I have to rebuild from scratch. Remember your first apartment? Rebuilding like that.
