The somewhat less bad thing is that all the I 9's and 1099's were unopened. I never, ever open them until the last second. This is because I only gather information and bring my records to tax guy, who enters everything. So if these docs went astray and someone found them, there might be a bit of privacy and identity safety for us. This is the wee glimmer of hope now.

The good news is that I found a beloved book that had fallen behind something else (when I was looking for errant tax docs). The better news is that it is day 5 of six consecutive shifts and I have not died. I just feel like road kill or its near cousin. I think I look like it, too. But sleep will eventually fix that. The best news is equally two things. First, in the worst case scenario, tax guy helps me to file for an extension. That really is not so bad. Second, in the process of torturing my back in order to move lots of things during my search, I remembered the old Aleve trick that a doc taught me.

If ever you need to know, and I hope that you will never need to know this: you can take one Aleve and a second Aleve not more than one hour later. For whatever reason, this separated dose sometimes helps more than the one Aleve that is mentioned on the product label. There is still a limit on the amount of product per time frame otherwise. You should always confirm anything like this with your own doc and even more important than that, hope you will never need to know from this. !

Day 6 of six consecutive shifts. Huzzah. Too tired for the exclamation point. There are just a few things to do at home to prep for upcoming inspection, which will happen when tptb feels better. They have kids, a cold, and a huge amount of work for the time frame. So I pray for them. I am emerging from some of that. They, too, will emerge from their overwhelm and all will be better for them, too. I also need to make phone calls for gigs and visit my storage unit. In a fit of overwhelm and hurry and haste makes waste, did I accidentally put the tax docs with other stuff? I hope so. This is better than an extension for a new set of docs. But enough of that. It snowed again! So far, there is not enough to close anything and give a snow day. But it is cold enough for a last hurrah with beloved sweaters.

Cold here too. Been -10°C the past few days.
But at least I'm not in Manitoba where they are expecting 30 cm of snow!

Here, @Shop-et-al, all the documents are on the revenue Canada website. I'm not even sure why we are still sent paper forms. I can access them, I can permit the tax person to access them.

I still have to gather my own info from mystery shopping.

Today is a mixture of grades, mainly grade 5. This teacher works .75
Yesterday was grade 1 half day. Civilised way to work!

Doing a bus trip through the community college, which stops at several different restaurants in the area. I've been looking forward to it for a long time. However, this afternoon's forecast calls for severe storms. Wonder how that will impact it?

In addition, last night I went to bed with what felt like a cold. I used my neti pot, then tossed and turned all night trying to wish it away. No luck. This morning I neti-ed again. An hour later I did a Covid test, which came back negative. To keep others safe, though, I will mask up except when eating. To keep them feeling safe I will take a Benadryl to dry my sinuses up so I'm not continually blowing my nose.

So we get to the community college and can't find the designated parking area. Call the tour guide, who tells us an email went out yesterday that event was postponed until next Wednesday. Neither Hubby or I had received message.

We ended up doing some shopping for Easter dinner (which is going to be lamb stew). At first store a butcher associate said he didn't have any lamb shoulder, but would order in a case of lamb stew meat and I could pick up tomorrow.

This afternoon I will make and freeze the chocolate carrot cake I'm bringing to an event on Saturday, and throw it in the freezer till I'm ready to frost Friday.

Free day! Woo-hoo! Unless you count the usual house tasks and errands. We will visit the storage unit and hope to find tax docs. If we find them, great! If not, equally great! We have our appointment with tax guy and know what to to along the way to an extension. My fave old golf sweater sprung a few leaks recently. When I removed it from the washer and hung it to dry, it had just one tiny pinprick of a hole. When I was ready to wear it, I noticed a few larger holes in the beloved thing. Alas. An exact replacement would cost a mere $150 or so online. Think I will go back to the thrift store where the golfers tend to donate their gently used sweaters and get something for a lot less money.

I just finished teaching an online class.

An on-campus class in a couple of hours, then the shopping begins: car wash, apartment video shop, Chinese fast food and two red/blue conditional reveal gas stations.

Thanks to social distancing it's been a couple of years since I had a cold and I forgot how debilitating they can be. Today I've done little except sit on the couch, read, and nap.

Another "free" day! I can hardly wait until this evening and the exact moment when official inspection and visit with tax guy are completed. No offense to anyone at all. At that point, nothing needs to be done except wait for replacement docs. Mind you, I will then start the infinitely fascinating task of sorting and inventorying shoes. This might be the cheapest soporific known to humankind, after sorting and inventorying socks.....

Hubby and I were invited to my niece's house for an early Easter celebration. We hadn't seen any of that part of the family since Covid. At the last minute the rest of the family (her mom, brother, his wife, and kids, who all live together) had to bow out because of stomach flu. I was touched that Niece still wanted us to come.

Watching the 1997 version of Twelve Angry Men. Love it. Just when you think you know something with absolute (or at least reasonable) certainty... wham! Now comes a reasonable alternative explanation before you, for your due diligence and careful consideration.

We wanted to visit with mil on Easter but snow made it advisable to postpone the trip. We can visit later. Perhaps weather then will permit us to take her somewhere that she likes or just wants to go.

Hmmmm....didn't know they did a remake of the 1957 original. I'll have to check it out. Have you seen the original??? Great cast, superb movie!! It can be found free on several Roku Channels if you look. It's also free with ads on YouTube. If you haven't seen the original, check it out!

I bought a unique clay pot on one of my Goodwill shops. Yesterday I used it to make chicken and onions. It was delicious!

I reupped my Earl Grey tea yesterday and also bought a gunpowder green tea.

They did, and it was good. I have not seen the 1957 movie but have read and heard that it is excellent. I have time for the original, free with ads on Youtube, today. (The newer version starred Courtney B. Vance, Ossie Davis, George C. Scott, Armin Mueller-Stah,l Dorian Harewood, James Gandolfini, Tony Danza, Jack Lemmon, Hume Cronyn, Mykelti Williamson, Edward James Olmos, and William Petersen.)

Trip to the gym and then to DMV to renew car license. I was pleasantly surprised to get out of there in less than 10 minutes! Tonight Hubby has a meeting to go to and I will take myself out somewhere for dinner. Sadly, I can't find any shops so will have to pay for it myself.

My heated throw conked out. I keep it on my bed to take the chill off the sheets. I got it from Aldi's in 2016, so I guess I'm due for a new one.

Dealing with a bad cold....It's hard being the one coughing when out in public.

Hang in there! I dealt with this last week. I chose to mask up for the safety of others.

A shift at the cat adoption agency, a tire shop on the way home, then grocery shopping. We don't need much so I will probably walk to and from the store for exercise.

Weird stuff in the news makes me wonder: have the tables been turned, and have kids in general now begun to take the lives of parents? Is this payback for the attitude that killing fetuses, babies, and newborns is somehow okay? But enough of that. For a fact, it is Tuesday and we have errands and small house tasks. My goal today is to find two LARGE planters for a HUGE indoor plant I have that desperately needs to be divided in two and each given their own plot of dirt. (Have to buy some potting soil, too!) I originally received the plant as a gift in 2008, and have transplanted it twice since. But now it's SOOOO big that I've got to divide it in half. I guess I'll have to find another spot indoors for the second half after it's divided and transplanted!

So pleased about hair in the world. One of co-workers at talking head job is not only infinitely better than I am in the job, but they are also a beautician. They have promised to give me their business card so we can find a time for them to trim my long, messy mane. As you know, I am building up (slowly and at the approximate speed of molasses) to diy hair trims. I don't mind paying for one more appointment, and I have realized that it would be easier for me to maintain a proper trim than to start from this point and hope to achieve the desired effect. So all is well.

@guysmom: We are there with our plants. A few years ago, I found neutral-toned large planters at Big Lots for a decent price. Some were glazed pottery. Others were plastic and looked as good as the pottery. It occurred to me recently, while driving past available gigs that I knew I would not do for awhile, that now is a good time to pay for plant stuff that we can get during hardware stores at locations that also have garden sections. Some of the gigs let us buy whatever we want, regardless of our given shop scenarios. If I can put together a long enough shop day, I can string together enough gigs to pay for the soil, if not more planters.

Went to Home Goods on Monday and got some new pictures for the walls. I like the "Bless This Kitchen" sign the most. I've tried cutting back on mystery shopping since it doesn't excite me as much as it did a few years ago. Trying to just focus on other things which is mostly relaxing and slowing down.

I went to the international market. I was very disappointed by their selection. The prodice looked like it was on the verge of rot. The salmon was overpriced and frozen. And so on and so on. I ended up going to Aldi's which is my happy place.

Went on the community college bus tour that was cancelled last week. The tour went to a Mexican bakery, Greek restaurant, Italian grocery store (and at that stop we also had toasted ravioli from a restaurant) and nitrogen ice cream. Needless to say, dinner will be simple!

Nitrogen ice cream? Must know more!
