What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I went to paddle. Unloaded my kayak before I realized I hadn't brought the paddle!

Well, you literally proved an old saying, "up the creek without a paddle." smiling smiley

Hiking today. Such a pretty hike.

Another very pretty hike. Mountain lakes and a waterfall. Leaving the mountains tomorrow.

Lights were flickering in a bathroom fan. Sure, I could just order a new bathroom fan from the same manufacturer which now costs about $250. OR...

I can replace the CFL lamps with LED lamps but I need to cut the wires feeding the CFL ballasts. This repair only costs around $15.

...but you need to have this knowledge to avoid spending the extra money.

I know what most people would do. They would buy a new fan. I'm keeping that money in a diversified portfolio to grow more. Oh, I'll take a little out to add to our travel expenses.
Luckily, my light isn't connected to the fan. I hate fans, I'll never need to repair or replace it. It probably works, I don't even know.

Off to Google what is Ryder Cup?

Then off to have lunch in-person with my Zoom book club.

working on my 2024 tax return today....yes, I put it off but they're due now soon.

Tonight, we're going to what they refer to, around here as a "harvest dinner" - it's a community thing.

Our town's Centennial Parade today, party and then concert afterwards. Don't think I'll make it for the party and concert. Out to dinner with my BFFs later. Empty nest tonight and DH is still glued to the TV!
Scouting out a hike for this weekend.

Pulling weeds, harvesting the last of my herbs.
We're still recovering from travel and hiking...such a good time!
Assembling my "cobbler's bench". I am preparing to move soon and I need to store away some of footwear....I buy well made brands and run them out to the finish, kind of the same way I do with vehicles lol.
So I am headed for some sealant, glue, polish and shine stuff

Also, a sibling was just unfortunately diagnosed with a serious illness, so getting together today with friends and family to come up with a support plan for these next weeks and possibly months.
I think I'm going to a book fair. I've never been to one. Apparently, there's a book exchange, but I can't think of any of my books to bring. A new experience any way.

Prayers …
Pulled out my jewelry making supplies: feeling like it’s time to combine healing stones and silver again.
Also sorting through hundreds of photos to resurrect my photo gallery.
No, it wasn't a potluck, but those are common here.
Various groups hold these dinners in the fall as fundraisers....they're amazingly reasonable in price
and the dishes are homemade by members.
Thank you for the prayers. It means a lot to know others care.
It scares us, but we're hanging in for now.

Love potlucks! And the conversation is usually as good as the food and if there’s music, it’s a party!
Today I get to visit my friend from grade one. Can't wait to see her.
