What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Geez, if I get caught tiptoeing across her lawn will I be served lunch too?

Maybe, but we did have to let her know how many were coming. (19)
Before yesterday, I didn't realize how close our trail, on her land, comes to her yard.

Phew. This is not a real-life Walkers of Dembley tale...

Who said so? Why did they say it?!
@Shop-et-al, I had to look up who the Walkers of Dembley are.
Well, at least we know the Landowners welcome us. Most don't feed us, or even hike with us.

One of my favourite days of the month. Lunch with friends I've had since 1967. It's right beside one of my hiking club's trails. But ladies who lunch don't hike, it seems.
Except one who is walking the Camino de Santiago. She won't be there today.
Have a great day!

I've never heard of that show @Shop-et-al.
Hiking today, family gathering tomorrow. A perfect weekend

It's a movie. Had not heard of it until today.

I start a new job tomorrow. I'm excited about it. I will traveling for three weeks out of the month, so I have to take Pepper Cat with me.

I went to the international market for groceries. I bought a lot of fresh fish, dressed how I like it. I love shopping there when I'm hungry.

I turned to SNL last night so I could see Chris Stapleton perform. I fell asleep before his performance.

Resting. My first day off in 3 weeks.
I've missed you around these parts HonnyBrown. Nice to see you here and good luck with the new job.

yesterday, we hiked around a lake
shopped for the kids, then visited and played with the kids
went to dinner
then a great rock show
then to see a new band
was a long day and night into this morning

resting today, ran an errand or two, some baking.

Life was passing like a hand waving from a train I wanted to be on

Prince, I will find out. I've only taken her to the vet.

Getting the winter tires switched to summer. We did go skiing the beginning of the month, but didn't mean to wait this long.

Watching 1970's Mystery in St Tropez. Is the Renault Floride better than the villas, which look like game pieces on my June's Journey Islands? Is the 'locura' in the opening better than those? Is a bumbling detective in gorgeous locations the best? :-D

pinched nerve in my back but still went in with the kiddos.... DD went with me to work. She's probably about the same age as my students but likes to be the teacher helper. It's so funny seeing her 'teach' the kids. Tomorrow is the end of the year class party.
Got most of the garden planted. Just hoping for rain now. I heard thunder, but just another Dry Thunder Shower¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I ran out of my favorite wine. Luckily, I have a backup in the fridge.

From yeterday's St. Tropez to today's gaping wonderment at a phone... this phone just types anything at all when I set it aside momentarily mid-post... nothing scientific here. Just the same observation made consistently for a few months. It also takes itself in and out of web searches and sites, unprompted, and seemingly willy nilly. Is this AI? A hacker? The phone's weirder-than-mine sense of humor??

... funky phone to corporate arrogance... for better or worse, apt. owner is installing wires/cable/internet/whatever that we do not need but will be uniform in the units. I asked how this addition, and future increased costs for it, might be passed along to me via rent or otherwise, but no one has responded... My internet cost will remain stable, and I want to keep.this good situation. ! First, we received a work schedule for the Arrogant Corp. presence in our building. Well, okay. Stenotic back could barely survive our part of the prep work. Today, Arrogant Corp. changed the schedule, forcing us to prepare within a shorter time frame. Stenotic back is up in arms, or, actually, down with alternating sessions of warm and cooling treatments... and the arrogant noise will happen just when I need peace and quiet for tomorrow's time-sensitive work (which can only be performed in-home). Gaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

In other news: weather is fine, birds are communing cheerily, and I lost a few pounds without trying. Go figure!

Hope you come through all that without too much stress @Shop-et-al

Pre-K in am and grade 1 in pm. Hauling water from rain barrels to garden after. Lucky, we have that for a couple more days.

... what a crock of manure! I was led to believe that the mandated and shortened time frame was a requirement. It was not. The designated workers did not appear. I hurt my already injured back based upon a lie!!! I would never undertake such project for that amount of time. I spread out the work for the sake of my back, which is a good and sensible system. But, noooo..... they informed me that the shortened time frame was mandatory. It was a requirement and mandatory that our preparation work would be completed by late afternoon today so that designated workers could access the designated workspace in the late afternoon today.

Do Not Lie To Injured People Because You Could Harm Them! Gah!

The first day of my new job was the background check. It was intense and took a full week to complete. I actually start this Monday.

The only hiccup was having a suspended driver's license.

Mixture of students who didn't go to the city track meet. Hate that kind of day and there were so few that they let me leave at noon. Thank goodness.

:-D Was necessary to move books out of the way. Was fun to re-find Better Than Life by Daniel Pennac.

Last year, I missed the deadline for my vehicle emissions and my driver's license got suspended. I got pulled over for speeding and the officer took my license. I was driving on pins and needles until my court date. I took an Uber to court. I pled guilty. My attorney got the $1200 fine reduced to $50. I went to DMV and ordered a replacement licence.

Guess what came up in my background check.
