Today the kids and I are painting rocks to use as place markers for perennial plants that "hide" in the winter and early spring. I got a great deal on a bunch of peony roots and I don't want to accidentally displace them while doing spring clean up next spring. We got a bunch of templates at the dollar store to use as patterns.
Sandy,
What a great idea ! Not to mention getting the kids more interested in that garden.

That pot of bones and veggies yielded about 2 quarts of broth. I have removed the solids and now boiling it down to about 1 quart of even more flavorful broth. I will chill that overnight, then de-fat it and and make soup with one pint and freeze the remaining broth tomorrow! We will have very nippy weather starting tomorrow night. Soup time ! The frozen concentrated broth will reappear as the base for bean or lentil soup some time later.

I'm making tentative plans to visit my parents for Thanksgiving.

My grad school loans are due starting in January. I consolidated credit card debt to prepare. SunTrust is not playing nice. The mystery shopping profits will go toward the debt.

Honny,
Maybe you can get a better deal thru a credit union? But not the one that you hated, I think.

Work, vote, errands.

Kept my job and must work in a closed offfice (and enjoy nice pay raise).

wales, ironically Crappy Credit Union gave me the best rate and terms. I kept the savings account so I could get the calendars every year. I'm glad I did!

I told myself during my Five Guys meal that I was only going to have one or two fries, but should have known myself better. Magically, the bag holding the leftovers opened in the car, and by the time I got home the entire order was gone! Now I don't feel so good :-)

KathyG! *gentle hug with a sprinkling of grins and a side order of you are not alone!*

Although it eats into my profit margin, I like to take Hubby with me on shops. He orders a sandwich and a glass or water and we split the fries.

Been there more times than I can count!

I keep the cup of fries and toss the rest.

I just sold the first item that was in the ones recently listed as the start of my new Ebay adventure. (I had sold a few things per year before, but was not looking at it as a business until now.) Of course, it was a very modest sale, but the buyer paid the postage and it is labeled, packaged and will be dropped at my local Post Express when I go out to do my last garage shop of the month today.

Now awaiting the arrival of the neighborhood handyman to make 3 minor repairs to the basement apartment and hang a new two-way blind in my living room.

Getting tested for Covid, Hubby was exposed at hockey. Maybe, someone wants a kitty there! Lol
Good luck, prince and hubby!!!!!

I have yet to be tested and remain banished to a closed office. Fortunately, I like being cloistered in my unused space-turned-office. I have three desks, two massive,/sturdy,/comfy chairs, one prim little chair, a filled bookcase, and a pillow that someone left behind. The most interesting thing is the pillow. Who used it? Why? Are they feeling better or otherwise free of the need for an office pillow? Should someone observe a moment of silence????? This is what it is like for me to go into thrift stores... some items seem to have a story to tell...

Happy Daylight Saving Day Everyone! I woke up pretty early. Did some social media stuff, made pancakes with sausage for breakfast, cleaned up. Now time for a dog walk, a dreaded Wal Mart trip. I also want to unpack my lamp that arrived on Thursday!
Listing an Icelandic wool blanket/throw on Ebay and two little household items on Freecycle.
Moving living room and office area furnishings; dusting and vacuuming under all such; trying to decide what to do with several audio tapes of music; wondering about what to do with about 50 cds of classical, baroque, jazz and new age music; planning the coming week; trying to not think about the election process. .

I spent a good part of my afternoon setting up my LG tv. I got it connected to Alexa, set up my phone to use as a remote, and downloaded some apps.

Day 1 of a 2-week quarantine leading up to a trip to California to see grandkids. Baking/pureeing/straining/freezing the Halloween pumpkin. Poaching/roasting pumpkin seeds. Making a batch of broth.

Two non-MS grocery stores: Aldi and Giant. Considering a nap after that. I just want to hibernate until the election has been decided.

Isolating as Hubby was deemed a close contact at Hockey last Tuesday. We both tested negative but required to isolate.
Cooked and pureed pumpkin, didn't strain?
Going to make pumpkin pudding with the bit I didn't freeze.

Made ratatouille from heirloom eggplant I got from a farmers market on Thursday. I will freeze half of it. The rest will be eaten tonight, and again tomorrow as leftovers.
I had a busy day at work. At 9am I looked at the time and it read 2pm. My day went fast.

I spoke with my parents yesterday. They want to play it safe for Thanksgiving so I won't be visiting. I get it but I'm disappointed.

Work. Work as election judge. Load car for... yeah... another busy work day tomorrow.

Those two grocery store visits had to be moved to today. In addition, I am studying and printing (with some adaptations) a few new cold weather recipes to try out. So, the grocery lists also need to be amended.

Answering an email from my dearest fried, who is in Derby, England, to try calm his fears about post election violence reaching into my neighborhood. The British press, and not just the tabloids, are FULL of very scary stories. As a retired British cop, he is appealed at the American gun culture.

Another day isolating. I don't mind but should find a project. Can't phone the shelters regarding Dumpkitty because can't take him/her if they have a spot!
