Met a lady at a shopping center to sell her my daughter's old roller skates (Facebook). Went to the Farmer's Market. Got 2 bags of produce for $7. Paid the young guy. The old man started talking to me in Spanish and was tickled that I spoke in his dialect. He started throwing in tomatoes and told me to go home and make salsa.
Football, eBay (auctions ending and auctions getting ready to launch), ran some laundry and hung a bunch of it outside in the sun. It's hot here today. Venmo'd the kids money to go buy Thanksgiving dinners, as we are not gathering this year, per the commandant, I mean the governor of CA.
Getting myself psyched up to do 11 days in a row starting tomorrow at work.
It's very nice of you to send your kids Thanksgiving dinner money!
Awww, thanks. I feel kind of badly that they (and everyone else) can't have a nice, big family dinner this year.
The daughter went to the grocery store today and got fresh veggies. She's with her cousin in Los Angeles, studying remotely.
The son was playing volleyball (beach) all day, so I guess he will figure it out later. He's alone, unless some of the volleyball women stay at the university. He can actually cook, but I doubt he'll do a turkey just for himself. Hopefully Whole Foods, Gelson's, Nugget, etc has something to-go.
Last year, I worked at the laboratory. Husband was in China (just missed that virus by a week or so). My kids were up north and went with extended family to one of their restaurants for a private dinner. I went out with my childhood BFF and 8 other ladies for a swanky dinner by the beach after work.
