What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I lost my phone somewhere between a shop and home. Luckily, it was in my car.
I was hoping it was in my car as well. Even had a stranger outside of Dollar Tree call my number while I searched my car and trunk, but it wasn't there. At least I found it later at Aldi.

Update I went on Amazon last night and ordered me one of these cell phone lanyards you can keep either around your torso or on your wrist. Losing it once was ENOUGH for me! There are a gazillion of these for sale on Amazon! Who knew! But I don't ever plan on losing my phone while out ever again!!!

I had a brain flash regarding merchandising. You are a merchandiser. Obviously, the phone lanyard will make you hands-free. Will you please let us know if this makes some gigs easier? tia.

I have had some rather debilitating arthritis related knee pain over the past few weeks. I went to urgent care this morning. They prescribed Prednisone. I took it less than an hour ago. I swear, it's working already.

Hey SEA, yeah, I sure will. I don't do a lot of merch'ing. In the past, I have usually worn (and will continue to wear) smock-type tops with big pockets when merch'ing. That way, I have kept/will keep my phone in one of the pockets. That usually works fine. I wasn't wearing such a top last Friday, and so had my phone in my jacket pocket, which is what I usually do when out grocery shopping.....no more though! Lanyard came today and I'm all set!
I thought I was cooking breakfast (scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, and fruit) at the church for four people, but it turned out to be six. I quickly toasted to some bread to add to the selection, and mentally resolved to always make food for six.

Still to do: the gentle workout that ends with the deep back stretch; affirmations & prayers; and review the new, stringent budget. What else can go? This budget has to survive more months of zero income. Unless/until a financial miracle appears, I have to stretch nothing, essentially, across the absolute minimum of expenses each month. Hubby can contribute more money starting next month. Will he help our situation? Or, will he continue to fund scammers? I know what I am hoping and praying for...

So the duality: Pray for the miracles and plan for the worst contingency. Be open to opportunity and stay on track if no opportunity materializes. Hope eternally for hubby cooperation but know that nothing may change after these years of misplaced belief in scammers.

So how do.you get moisture into the dish besides using the requisite sour cream (or whatever)? With very lean beef, I have used a little baking soda to soften the meat without adding a fat. This is good for basics such as meatloaf or meat for marinara.

Perhaps you could post a recipe, or at least the hints and tips for cooking with the very lean moose. ? smiling smiley

Will be looking for my dinner invitation to show up soon :-)

So @SEA, I did a quick 45 min merch gig today at Christmas Tree Shop. I kept my phone on my lanyard, and it worked out OK just hanging down. My phone, plus the wallet-type case it's in, plus the junk in my case, cause the lanyard to add more hanging weight than I expected. The lanyard isn't too cumbersome hanging around my neck, but it does add a bit of weight.....which is why smock-type tops work great for merch'ing, so I can just keep my phone in the large pockets. Where the lanyard will come in handy is when I'm out shopping, and I want to keep my phone in my outside jacket pocket. With the lanyard being adjustable, I can keep it long enough so that it stays in my jacket pocket without hanging down as dead weight, and doesn't add any weight to my neck area. HTH.
Pleasant night: Hannukah music in several languages, workout, and put away dry laundry.

Chiropractor appointment and errands. Getting outside to walk in the mid-30 degree weather before the late week chill sends temperatures plummeting. Youngest Son is coming over for dinner tonight to celebrate Christmas.

Paying bills online; Costco to collect one of my 2 new pairs of glasses; CVS for Rx pick-up; local Shell station to inaugurate my new Shell discount credit card; home to do laundry and KP. Late week will be cold and very, very rainy (possibly icy) days so lots to do today before being housebound for several days.

While you walk in 30°weather, @KathyG I will decide whether to walk at -30 ° C Windchill bringing it colder than -40.
It will be a short walk to the compost and bird feeder, maybe check my little trail in the bush.
School buses didn't run and noone needed a sub.

What a morning! I was waiting for the bus to show up and when it was already 20 min past the usual time, I called transportation and the lady said that we missed the bus. I said it was not possible and I have been standing there since 7:20 am. I did see a bus that looked different but it went round the block and never stopped. So she said she will send it back in 10 min or so. I asked my husband to get the car ready in case it didn't show up. We were sitting in the car since it is -4 C. A bus shows up only on the other side of the street. Husband went down and asked if it was for us and the driver said he couldn't figure out the address correctly. So, I ran down the street, got my daughter on the bus, husband ran back to get the car back in the garage, and then I noticed I lost my keys!

I am running up and down the street in the cold trying to find my keys in the snow. Then , I remembered maybe I dropped it in the car. Phew! found it. By the time I got inside, my face was as red as Rudolph's nose. Severe weather alert..getting a foot of snow on Thursday.
I walked today because temperatures are dropping on Thursday/Friday-close to 0 degrees Fahrenheit :-)

Our citizenship test date appointment has arrived. We are set for late January.
Finished with the cards and included Starbucks gift cards for our beloved bus drivers and mail carriers. With the current shortage, they are working so hard. Last day of school today so I will finish making a few dishes and casseroles. Went to Costco and got a whole lot of groceries in anticipation of severe weather.
Celebrating Christmas with my son's family today. Tomorrow I will go to my friend's for an early celebration. I live in one of the areas getting the severe weather Thursday night into Saturday. Hope to get back out Sat evening for Christmas Eve church services.
I had planned a no shop day, however I realized I need to get a few more gifts. But most of the day will be at home with laundry, paying bills, and wrapping gifts. Trying to use my time wisely while my little one is at day care.
Since the temperatures won't drop until tomorrow (and my princess toes can handle close to freezing) today I will make sure I get steps in by bundling up and walk some letters to the post office. Otherwise, work on removing piles scattered throughout the house and starting the sending of wishes to the Universe for roads to be in good shape by Saturday when we leave for the airport.

I drove up to my parents' house for the holidays. I came up today to get ahead of the snow. I go back on Monday.

I left kibble and water out for Pepper. I miss her already!

Must get back to structured movement! For awhile, I was doing about an hour per day of a variety of movements and walking styles. I do not know what happened to that, but tomorrow hubby will help me by recording timings and we can build from there. It is really friggid cold here, and I am glad to be indoors.

Hubby stole my cards again, overspent, and blew the budget. Again. Scammers are happy! They have our January grocery budget! I will survive this. G did not appear in flesh at Christmas for my personal ease. He came to rescue me from my personal issues and provide parables and other lessons for better living. I cannot control hubby, but I might work to change laws or policies re: who can be prosecuted for unlawful use of credit cards and the like. It should be clear that theft by spouse is no different, essentially, than theft by burglar, wallet snatcher, etc. Hmmph. !

That is very serious stuff, and we should remember to pack up all our troubles in a big box. If we're lucky, someone will break in and steal them! Dean Martin did that amusing bit. grinning smiley

So that might have seemed certain. And then... Along came listening to the Bible and specific, relevant and timely verses... And a few pointed sermons... And I have been schooled!

The Dean Martin thing is still good. grinning smiley

I hope that everyone who is in the blizzard and other severe weather conditions will be safe. Nothing like a whiteout Christmas, eh?

A right after breakfast walk while the temperatures still hovered around freezing. Rest of the day will be inside, with a combination of cleaning chores and self-care.

@SEA, you can put "controls" on your credit cards if you haven't already. That way you get a notice, either via text or email or both, when a transaction has gone through. Once one goes through, you can call the issuing bank and ask them to freeze the card. Also, many cards now give you the option to keep your cards "frozen" until you -- yourself -- know they are in your possession and use them just yourself. Please look into these options! God bless you!
