Showed up to cook a meal for the priests for the first time since before Thanksgiving. The sheet pan pancakes I was planning on thawing and serving were half gone! Fortunately, I had a backup plan-the egg strata that would have been last week.

9ft. Fresh tree is up. Outside lights done. DH had 2 beaus assisting him or he would be outside again tomorrow. DH is the mayor of the neighborhood. Everyone came out to chat with him including people driving down our street and passerby's. Hilarious and never ending amusement. Moreover, everything is beautiful and I am happy.

Insomnia. Grade one this AM, and it's -31°C. Buses aren't running, but for some reason, those parents get their kids to school anyway! LOL

According to NASA and EarthSky.org, there are several sky events of interest this month. It all starts tomorrow. I will watch in real time, or later online.

Brief trip to Aldi, then on to CVS for my Moderna bivalent booster shot. Assemble chicken, black bean and salsa soup in the slow cooker. This will provide supper and several future meals. Continue prepping listings and pictures for posting on Freecycle later in the week.

My plan was to drive halfway across the state to meet someone for lunch and to hand off paperwork and equipment for a volunteer job. However, last night we pushed our meeting back until next Tuesday. Now I have a good chunk of the day to get things done.

I never had any luck with the technique, but supposedly if you squirt water at a misbehaving cat they will learn not to do the naughty thing.

I love 'Do you Hear What I Hear' but after hearing it x number of times, my eyes spin and I must bite my tongue lest I scream, oh for pity's sake. Why doesn't someone bring a blankie to the infant who is shivering in the cold? And what about the comfort of the parents????? What good are gold and silver at this point if they do not provide something useful? Mind you, the frankincense, or boswelia, would alleviate any incipient arthritis from the cold conditions...

With the windchill, it was -40. I should have said that as then both F and C are the same. That is the cut off for buses.

I just listed a dozen items on Freecycle. within minutes I had more than one offer on 11 of those. The person who actually wants all 11 items will be here to collect them in an hour. Whew!

I love Freecycle! I buy Pepper's food by the case from Chewy after doing supermarket trial runs by the can. When she gets bored with a flavor, Chewy gives me a refund and they tell me to donate the remains. I put an ad on Freecycle and donate the food to a neighbor who feeds a cat colony.

Trying new pain medication. It was perfect for 3 doses. Then, it stopped working. Between crying, howling, and the occasional shrieking, I have read this forum, folded and put away dry laundry, sent a message to my provider, and prayed my little heart out. The message was so garbled! I know that I did not have that verbiage and other, inserted characters. It is as if some sprite altered it after I pressed 'send'...
