I don't have Netflix but I have Showtime, HBO, etc. We loved Shameless a lot, which is an original Showtime series. We rented the first couple of discs of "Orange is the New Black" from the video store but just couldn't get into it.
Jasflalmt- I really enjoyed watching The Affair and Ray Donovan from HBO, until I couldn't get it for free anymore through a friend's account changing.

I have been more and more disappointed with interesting shows being exclusive content of Netflix or other on demand services. I already pay way too much for my cable. It was really disheartening to find the new Star Trek Discovery to be available only through CBS All Access. And before anyone suggests getting rid of the cable, it is not an option.

LisaSTL- I have been thinking of getting rid of cable or atleast getting a cheaper more basic package. I was very upset when CBS was in my current cable package, but I needed to pay extra to watch it on my IPAD unluck all my other television channels.

Mum- Could you believe how short this last Fuller House season was?

For some reason, we didn't like it too. I watched the first episode of Shameless. Will give it a try again.
What Happened to Monday was so freaking good. I love the Netflix series. They are taking over the big box theaters! The only TV I watch is CBS it seems, everything else is streamed. I'm considering dropping my cable service as a result. I can pick up CBS with a antenna for free. Netflix is so work the $10.99 a month. Thanks for the list Christy - other options for me to check out!

It's funny how I was so attached to cable a couple of years ago. In reality, I was watching just reruns on Food Network and HGTV. Cutting the cord definitely helped save money plus I am amazed at the vast variety of series and movies on Netflix. CBS streaming is free and Youtube too. Makes me wonder why I didn't do it earlier.
AFAIK, I can watch all the cable channels on my iPad through the cable company's app. It is the All Access that is a subscription service.

What really galls me about TV in general are all the broken promises from back in the beginning of cable. One of the biggies was the paid channels would be commercial free. It made sense since commercials were the money maker. In reality, commercial free viewing was only available by paying an additional fee for movie channels. Even with CBS All Access there are still commercials on one of the tiers.

I binge watched The Blacklist on Netflix until I was caught up. Now I watch it on NBC.

HonnyBrown- this season of Blacklist was my favorite!

Mum-No, but I am adding it to my list now. Have you seen the Falling or the Killing? They are both murder mysteries.

Have you looked at any of the over the top services like DirecTV Now or Sling?

We got rid of cable back in November. At the same time we purchased a Netflix subscription (mainly because a family member got a job there...gotta support the fam). The whole experience made me realize just how little I watch TV. Hubby could care less, and I've only fired up the Netflix a couple of times.

Exactly! It seems they are getting better now with each season. I wanted to see more of it since the plot is really taking off.

I am always on the lookout for murder mysteries. I will add that. Thank you!
Mum- Also Longmire is multiple murder mysteries through the seasons. Eventually some lead to others and the major mystery is solved in the finally season. It took me a few episodes to get used to the Actors, but once I did, I couldn't stop watching.

@Christy1879 My husband is sick of me watching murder mysteries. I can't help it. I keep searching Netflix for those when I have no work. Thanks. I saw the title on Netflix but didn't know it was a murder mystery. Loved Alfred Hitchcock and Midsomer Murders. I am just waiting for the next season of "How to get away with murder".
mum- I have noticed both of them, but haven't watched them yet. Ripper Street is one of my favorites due to the lead actors.

Wow, you guys watch a lot of tv! With 2 kids, a full-time job and mystery shopping I'm lucky if I have 30 minutes a night to watch anything. I do set aside one hour on Tuesday nights for "This Is Us" though...
This Is Us is awesome! The third show of the first season is when I got hooked. The opening of the show told William's entire relationship with Randall's Mom without using words!

Has anyone ever noticed the volume levels are different between Hulu and Netflix? I ask, because I borrowed a Hulu account to see if what shows it provided. While watching a show on my computer during my lunch break, I noticed I could barely hear the movie through earbuds. I had to really turn up my computer's volume to hear it clearly. I was just shocked and curious as to why one would have better sound quality then the other on the exact same computer and set of earbuds.

Netflix has a new one called The Cult. It’s pretty good. I also liked Alias Grace and The Killing.
Sassyangi- I will need to checkout the Cult, thanks.

Bates Motel on Netflix. It starts with Norman and his Mother buying the motel and shows his descent into madness. I like Stranger Things, too.
