I dunno. I was not there. I was *looks around furtively, whispers* land grant all the way. This is very far from an Ivy. However, I noticed something recently. People have bashed others who have questioned the accuser's description of events or who have wondered whether an attack happened at all. People have bashed the defendant for making statements that they do not like. It is as if some people have decided what must have been even though there is nothing that proves anything and it really does not matter now anyway.
As for confessions, no one needs to confess anything anywhere that I can find out about it. Priests, good friends, others... those are good folks to hear confessions. I do not want that from people whom I have never met and who are not obliged to tell me anything that could be confessed. Please, handlers, do not let them confess publicly. The public has, at most/best/worst, a prurient interest. Ick.
I do not care about their pasts. I really would like to know more about who and how they are now. Now is the time when they can demonstrate how they have applied what they learned in school and after school. Now is what matters.
Unfortunately, Mr. Kavanaugh is being held hostage- in a manner of speaking- by Dr. Blasey-Ford because she does not know what happened and cannot reconstruct that. Her inability to process a possible past incident remains her ongoing personal issue, yet her personal trouble has spread outward and crept into the Congress of the United States. Is it reasonable for this personal issue to take up Congressional time, considering that other, directly relevant resources are available elsewhere for Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford to use?
Now is a good time for that professor to do the personal work- elsewhere. Christine, Blasey-Ford (and ACLU, etc.), please set Mr. Kavanaugh free from your personal issues, vendettas, assaults and attacks so that he can live his life now. Another reason for you all to stop behaving like dogs yanking on a bone (I remind you that Mr. Kavanaugh is a person) is that other people are observing you from near and from far. Are you really doing what is right for an entire nation, or are you wrapped too tightly within the confines of your narrow, damaging agendas? Thank you.
