My Pay Pal Account is Growing!

It's OCD. I like to have an even amount in my accounts. I always transfer to my savings after the interest has been added to make it an even amount, etc. I have checking accounts and savings accounts, and I would love it if they all were able to be even numbers...ack.

So after reading this thread, I made a transfer of money out of PP to my bank. I had $46 and change in there. I transferred $45. I don't know why, but whenever I transfer, I always transfer an even amount and always leave like $1 or something. Why do I think I have do an even amount...lol?

I have that issue with credit card receipts for meals. I always adjust the tip so that the entire amount is in whole dollars. I have argued to myself that it allows me to spot any fraudulent charges, but ....

I love to round up with credit and cash purchases when one of my fave thrift shops asks if I would like to do this. This wee bit of money might just do some good for someone who cannot thank me.

@myst4au @JASFLALMT @kimmiemae....

So funny! I'm the same way! I adjust my tip so that the bill is in whole dollars, too. I also pay every single bill in whole dollars....and I figure since I'm doing that, I will round up to even tens. When I had a car payment, my payment was $622.00/ month. I paid $630 a month for a long time and then I slowly increased it to $650.00 and then $700.00 and $750.00.....etc. I shaved 14 months off the payment time when it was all said and done.

I do the same for my mortgages. I do the same for my utilities, etc. I pay them all a little over each month, but always rounding to the nearest tens place....lol.
This also helps me to get my check book registers all in order and know exactly how much money I will have each month....before the month starts, since I pay the same for each bill each month.

I know: It's VERY OCD and VERY "must have control...." I am good with it though smiling smiley
I suspect there are a lot of mystery shoppers who are OCD. I KNOW that there are a lot of merchandisers who are OCD to the extreme, which is great because they are painstakingly fastidious about cleanliness and organization in the retail environment. It carries over to my home-life...you should see my pantry, all the soups and other canned goods are organized by brand and type with faced labels. Anyone ever see that Julia Roberts movie "Sleeping With the Enemy" where her creepy OCD husband who she left finds her at her new house and straightens up the cans in her cupboard?
haha @JASFLALMT....me too. Spices are alphabetized. Canned goods are lined up in a certain way, labels facing front. All of the pasta is arranged by type. I rotate it all, so older stuff gets used first (cuts down on waste). My towels are all neatly folded and I had to switch to all white because I was forever making sure the towels were arranged by color on the shelf...

I can always tell when someone has messed with things....

But by the same token, I can't fold a fitted sheet for the life of me; I haven't bothered to learn; and I don't worry too much about it. I used to have just ONE sheet set per bed (use, strip, wash, re use). When I got two per bed (I added a flannel set for winter), I just shove the unused set into a drawer, sort of half folded....

Well of course you do. That's the right way to do it. My husband has over 100 spices, and I alphabetized them years ago.

FIFO (first in, first out). My entire pantry is that way.
LOL!

It is possible to overcome those behaviors. I used to be that way, intensely. I have graduated into a slightly better way of being. I am happier now... smiling smiley

I still prefer that the baking spices are separated from the cooking spices. Even though there is some crossover in usage, this makes it possible to allocate according to given space and not the alphabet, which does not know from cubic measurements. That is the last remaining stringent rule. Limited space demands certain organizing methods, but that is not me. If I had vast space, I would let stuff occupy it in a less rigid way.

Oh...I was much worse before I had kids. Now some things are just impossible to keep organized!
So, I am not alone. I do have a system in my pantry, bathroom and closet. I fold my undergarments too a certain way that drives my husband bonkers. I strive for straight lines, things facing a certain way and I fold fitted sheets too. It's easier than most ppl think. I fold all my sheets and pack them inside their matching pillowcases and that used to be a cause of heated discussions since my incredibly wise husband thinks that I could just throw them inside the closet and be done with. I feel so zen when I see Marie Kondo but I do not like the way she treats her sheets.
I bought one of the Marie Kondo books. It is a kinder and gentler way of reminding us to take care of things. I have an older book that teaches how to take care of things. It feels like a poor peasant making rags last, compared to the softness of Marie Kondo and her peace-making work. There is something peaceful about an organized space, whether sparsely or generously filled. There is something sensible about preventing premature or unnecessary damage to one's belongings.

GEEZ, you guys make me feel so normal...lol. I don't do any of the above, pantry has me always looking for stuff, could care less about labels, fold laundry the easiest way, dishes are stacked according to how I use them.
My thing is to always have my dining room table set beautifully, and I hardly ever have company, but I like to look at pretty things....I am however, neat with myself. My daughter is like you guys, very organized, wonder if it has to do with your birth sign.
edited to add: I may be OCD deprived....

You are lucky Irene if you are OCD deprived. My first task after coming home from school was straightening things up and I was 11. I think that's when it started. My parents splly my dad made fun of my habits. I have eased a bit after the birth of my daughter. Children can make you insane but mine is making me more level headed. I visited my sister once and offered to organize her things. She said she would throw me out if I touched her things. My husband seemed elated with her response.
I like being OCD. I tried to cut it out before and I just like to be organized.

I also love a beautiful dining room table! I set mine all the time, too; and have dozens of tablecloths and place mats and runners. I bought houses based on whether or not my dining room table would fit. But I have four kids, so it doesn't stay pretty for more than a day at a time....sigh

My birth sign is Sag on the cusp of Cap
