Huge rainstorm for 2 days, with lots of winter and thunder. Then 2 nights of deep freeze to make the roads and sidewalks treacherous.

A rainy Christmas Eve Day here, then tomorrow...BRRRRRR!!!!, at least for us here in SC!! Temps in the 20s and 30s tomorrow. So thankful for our gas logs. It makes everything feel so cozy and snuggly!
It is still cold, but the sun is melting snow and ice.

The rain was totally weird for Christmas eve and Christmas day. I took all my decorations down yesterday during the rain storm. Now it is snowing. smiling smiley
The days are getting longer.......
It is snowing, and I need to move on from forum to weather reports for each city where I am scheduled to work next week.

Quite the see saw here. In the 20s on Christmas Day. Today in the mid 50s. Back to just above freezing tomorrow. Wednesday starts out warm, but cooling off and chance of snow later in the day.

We got a pittance of snow yesterday, mainly on the grassy areas. Just once this winter I want to have a storm that makes me glad I no longer have to get out and shovel.

Yay. Finished all distant work and fun days before anticipated snow in the usual places. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We have had almost no snow at all in the DC area this season. So, as I watched the Green Bay Packers defeat the LA Rams in a light snow at Lambeau Field this afternoon, I was pleasantly transported by both the game and the scene. Too bad that there is not an HD TV channel where we could get 24/7 of a pleasant, snow day, or a really crackling electrical storm.

90 here yesterday. 80 today. I wore a sleeveless top and capris with flip flops today.
I could never live where it is that warm! I left Florida for that reason. When I was without air conditioning I felt sick. Not everyone can take the heat. smiling smiley I LOVE having 4 seasons........
If 37 snowflakes per hour count, we have just has the most snow of the season here in the DMV.

It is 4 above. I went to the store to get cereal, milk and banana. It is supposed to be very cold with wind chill tonight. I'll be in bed. lol smiling smiley
It is cold, sunny, and bright. This is good. Recent snow is disappearing via the usual methods.

Just above freezing here, so the intermittent rain wasn't snow or sleet. Still raw and nasty, though.

-14°C here. Should have gone snowshoeing today instead of yesterday when it was -20!
Whole area gearing up for first serious snow in about 2 years starting Sunday and perhaps well into Monday/Tuesday. Suspect that tomorrow will be crazy for traffic and lines at grocery stores.

29 F and snow falling at the rate of at least one inch per hour. Everyone is hunkering down and waiting to see if the second wave of this arrives as snow or sleet tomorrow. .

The northeast is supposed to get a snow storm but it will prolly be down by NYC. It was supposed to snow last night but was sunny all day. stay tuned....
Additional snow overnight and this morning in the DMV has brought the local total (my yard) to about 6 inches. In an area like this, with limited capabilities for snow removal and treating road, this will pretty well shut things down. As a young Sasha Obama once put it, "Back home (Chicago for her, Milwaukee for me) we would not have even have canceled recess." Across the street from my home there is a small hill and the local children are out in force to slide on it.

Yea, winter storm Orlena has shut down much of New York. Governor Cuomo claimed state of emergency and told people in certain areas to stay home. Covid vaccine centers shut down. Plus they got rain. LaGuardia airport is shut down too.
It is just up where I live. Not windy and no rain.
It's Groundhog Day. However seeing the sun for the first time in almost a week is making me happy. So much for an early spring :-)
