GapBuster risen from the dead ??

For the longest time, I had never seen any knew assignments for Gapbuster since they lost their major burger chain one. I even deleted there bookmark since I hadn't heard from them in a very long time (Over a year). Now I get a call from them for doing a Japanese BBQ shop that I had done over a few years ago. Does anyone know if they are starting to make a comeback?

I was deactivated for life (per their email) when they lost the Golden Tits of America so I guess I will never know.
Last month, they contacted me out of nowhere and offered huge bonuses for a new FF client. I'm glad they're back and can now look forward to phone calls from Australia smiling smiley
Normally I would sign up and give them a try but they don't use a secure internet connection (https://) so my vital info is staying put.
I got emails asking me to certify for a new major FF chain... no phone calls yet...

THIS is what I'm talking about.....

It starts with a birth date, who knows where it goes from there, and for my money who cares.

I guess I'm not that paranoid. Once you fill in that part, they send you an email with a secured link to fill in the rest. If you're that worried, give a fake birthday and fix it later in the secured link's site.

This isn't some fly-by-night organization that nobody's ever heard of. This is a legitimate company that's been around for a long time and has a proven track record. I've worked with them in the past & my experience with them has always been rewarding.

As for the person who said they don't provide a phone number, here's a list, from their website, of their offices and contact numbers. Why you would want to call Australia about a shop is your business.

That's fair enough. I'll go the fake birthday way and see what's up, thanks for the angle :-)
I loved working with this company, but I did find that they did not code my bank account information. When I told them about this, they said if you don't like it please deactivate your account. They were not concerned about this.
How do you mean "code"? Do you mean you could pull up your account with them and the bank account info was visible?
i am no sure why there alway reject my request
i cant register after i fillup my detail

I recently got "fired" from this company with a form letter after they have been calling me for years and asking/begging me to do their shops monthly giving me bonuses...then bam, suddenly fired and told to never darken their doorstep again.
I suspect it is age related as other shoppers said. I was always told I was one of their best shoppers when they called. They are still alive and have only the one BBQ restaurant on the west coast from what I can tell. You will only see those jobs once in a while and have to hit the correct day to sign up for them.
It's too bad as I really liked those shops.
I just got the form letter too. And I just completed a shop that they called and begged me to do. I wonder if I did it wrong? I haven't been paid either, and of course I can't log in to update my payment innformation.
I got paid for my final job and the bonus...no problem. I doubt I did anything wrong as I knew that job backwards and forwards...it is so hard to contact them tho not sure if your payment info has changed what to advise. You could try sending an email to their last known email. They did sometimes respond after weeks. Athena34 Wrote:

I got an email from them the other day letting me know there was a shop in my area. I always liked working with them when they had the company with the brown delivery trucks; they were my favorites. But I couldn't take the shop because it interferred with one I already had for the same day and time frame.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart..."
Ok. Here goes my woe tale with this company. I. Am. Really. Bummed. I will let you read for yourself and then, please, if you will, offer feedback:
Preface to say I first received a phone call, asking if I would be willing to take some shops. As I knew the call was coming from Australia, and the charge terrified me(LoL) I asked if she would be willing to send the request to me by email, then quickly hung up! She did.

Here it is:
"Hi Lynn! Could you visit shops in following addresses?

If you could complete these assignments tomorrow or Tuesday, I can offer you extra $3 for each. So totally you will receive $60 for 3 assignments.

Please let me know if you would like to take them.

Thank you very much."

My reply: "No, I am sorry. I have several already scheduled this week."

Next email:
Hi Lynn,

If you can complete shops by 18 Apr, I can offer you double fee. So you will receive $68 for 2 visits.

Pls let me know urgently.

Thanks"

My reply:
"If I can complete shops and submit by 18th, yes, since that is a day off for me this week. Can you send time frame and locations to complete. Thank you."

Now my question, before I tell you how this sad tale ends, what do you see being promised in these emails, from me and the company. I will do what, when, specifically? I want to know if I am missing something here. Bare with me, please.

MsLynn

where's the rest of the story?

by the way, download Skype and call for free. I dropped my long distance and use skype for all long distance calls,(for 2.99 a month) which in my case, the way ATT configured..long distance is a mile up the street !!!!

BTW, Sprint doesn't charge for incoming international calls on their cell plans.
My understanding is that you turned down 3 shops for $60. You then accepted 2 shops for $68, for a later date (18th).

They're originally $17, with a $3 bonus, making 3 shops worth $60. In the next offer, the company offers to double the fee (without the bonus), making each shop $34, $68 for 2 shops. Sounds pretty good to me!

Did I miss something? I have a feeling this didn't go like it should have...
Thank you MtlShopper. No, it did not. You clearly stated what I thought the agreement was.

Well, after completing the shops on the 18th, all went well, employees did a stand up job, got my business cards, my photos and did one more shop for one other company. All is good. Go home, log in and lo and behold, the shop date is not adjusted to show the shop date as the 18th. I cannot get into the system past the date. I promptly send at least 3 or 4 emails the same day, expressing my dismay and problem. No reply. Another 2 or 3 emails, same day, "Help!" "How do I submit my shops!?" No reply. Next day, same thing. End of day on Friday, another email: Sorry, the shops have been cancelled. We no longer need you to go to the location. They have been removed from your...." ??????? : (

Now mind you, the acceptance of the job and the dates and the pay, all this was done by email. The scheduler even said in an email, "I have assigned the jobs to you, just go in and download the paperwork for the addresses."
I. am. bummed.
Oh, and thanks much to the advice from Shoppinalong and Mantis. I really just don't know if my cell plan has international. I am reminded I need to check. I simply did not want to take any chances and be shocked with my next bill. smiling smiley
So, what do you think? Shop for them again? Cut my losses and move on? Feedback? Thanks.
MsLynn,

I had a similar problem with the dates being past the due date and not being able to submit the shops. I received a call from Andy a few days after I sent the email and he had the forms reset so that I was able to enter the shops. They might take a day or two, but they most likely will give you a call. I've never worried about them calling from Australia. I don't pay for them to call me, plus I love, love, love those accents. Anywho, I wouldn't give up on them just yet. I also didn't get the "secret code" from the guidelines for one shop and...puff...not good...nada....no entry allowed. So be sure to get that code at least a day or two ahead of the shop or it blocks you from seeing the form and entering it. Remember their time is ahead of ours and it seems to screw up the dates somehow. They are more than agreeable, at least in MHO. I only recently started working with them again after several years of nothing, so I'm learning their ways all over again.

They will also call if your shop shows as overdue. Ihad several calls from them because one shop I did was a closed location and there was a bit of confusion with the reporting of it. They should work with you. Try emailing again through their "Inquiry" or "Enquiry" or whatever it is.

MsJudi,

Thanks so much! I will follow your advice. I really do like the shops. They are easy, I love shopping for this item, just checking um out. So I hope all is not lost. Thanks again!
So even though the same shops have reappeared on the board you think it possible they will let me summit my reports for the two I did?
MsJudi,
You were right, it happened just as you said it would. Spoke to Catherine, she reassigned both shops, changed the date, and I just completed both.
MsLynn

So glad it worked out for you. I remember back in the day, they used to pay almost instantly after completing the assignments. Now, I noticed they pay once a month. Oh well, all is still good.
