Market Force gas shop mistake

Did anyone sign up for the Market Force audits at $30? Only to receive an e-mail days later telling you that it was a mistake, and that they should be $10? But of course, they understand that the fee may not work for you, so they are offering $2 extra dollars.

Edited: I originally said Maritz, but it was actually Market Force

I signed up for one, at $30.00 was okay but at $12.00 I don't think so, I asked them to remove the shop from my shops to do, it's not working for me.

Me too. I signed up for six, all near me. I should have known they would never knowingly offer a reasonable amount for this 3 hour (with printing, prep, mystery shop, revealed audit, photo upload (3 at a time), and questionnaire) shop. I told them, when you've got at least $20, hit me back. I'm not doing anything for $3 an hour, and no one else should either.

I do picked up about 20 of these shops all month long only to find out that they goofed on the pay and decided to cut it 2/3 of the way. What makes me so mad is that had this been a shopper error and the shopper needed to remove the visit, it would give them a negative mark on their profile. But since MF made the mistake, then it's ok. I almost found it insulting that they tried to make good with the $2 "goodwill gesture". Had this happen with other companies, they would of made good with their promise and honor their mistake.

I totally agree nobody should be working for $3 an hour but I am wondering why it is taking you so long. I have done a bunch of these for MF for around $12-15 per audit, and I can usually get the onsite visit and reporting done in under an hour.

I guess the places you visit never have anything wrong, which now requires two extra photos each. Most of the time I end up with about 25 photos to upload, and the "new improved" photo uploader can only handle 3 at a time (otherwise it hangs and does not download the rest). Babysitting that operation takes about an hour by itself. I suppose I could take pictures of 10K size each, and maybe the uploader wouldn't crash, but I don't think tiny thumbnails is what the client wants.

I could certainly get the visit done in an hour, but I don't see how you can answer that questionnaire and fight with the photo uploader to load 20 pictures in less than an hour. When I can go to a bank, talk for 6 minutes, and enter a 5 minute questionnaire with one business card scan for $15, these gas station audits tend to look ridiculous in comparison.

It would save me lots of time if everything at every station was "perfect" with no additional pictures necessary. Paying only $10, the client's stations probably get a lot more "benefit of the doubt" than the client wants. ;-)

I had signed up for eleven of these gas station shops when it was $30. I grabbed as many as I could when I saw how much they were paying. But I just got an email last night saying that they made a mistake. And then they wanted to offer a $2 bonus to make up for the mistake. I asked them to cancel the shops because I was not going to do these shops for $12. I think they should have paid the shoppers the $30 because that was the agreement when we accepted the shops.
Dave, you know who actually pays for that audit? The oil company charges the franchise owner. Maybe they deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I tried working for Market Force for a few months, and experienced problems such as what is being mentioned here. I did not feel that I could trust them, and my experiences leads me to believe that the misleading shop price was probably not a mistake. It is just interesting to read your posts because I feel better about trusting my gut feelings.
Oh no! I got a call from a scheduler asking me to do them and she said I would get $30. The shop itself is not bad but it's the uploading part that sucks. If, I spent hours uploading 20 plus photos for them to tell me that I won't get the $30 a pop, I will be very disappointed. Will keep you posted.
I looked at Jobslinger yesterday and it still said $30 there. I woulda jumped on it too if I hadn't already seen this thread.

prettygul1, do you either have an e-mail confirmation of that fee or has it been put in at that amount for your CPI? One thing I've found about MF is they will honor those bonuses. I still don't trust anyone with just a verbal confirmation!

I am curious about all the photo upload. I haven't done anything with them that required pics for well over a year now. Before the batch upload was relatively easy and then matching the photos was a bit of a pain, but not onerous. Have they changed the system?
