But there is a cap of $5000.0F. They probably owe A LOT more than that.

Yes, but the largest percentage of shoppers don't read the boards and so would not be included in this. Wonder how much we could add up of the posters on the board here who are still out money from FC? Maybe there could be a couple of suits - one involving carpet cleaning, one involving.....do they still shop anything else? ..... thinking of Adam explaining his rationale to Judge Judy is just TOO funny .....

I contacted the vendor, sales dept and Chem-Dry's Comptroller who contacted FC.

Lainerz
10 Year Veteran Shopper
JASFLALMT, that is EXACTLY my scenario as well. At first, I thought someone was quoting me. Same time frame, excuse responses, started to seem fishy and then I realized I was not alone.

RipOff Report. Their advice is to take the company to small claims court. Not sure that would result in my desired outcome either.
If Julie quit, why did I just receive an email offer to do another Chem-Dry mystery shop?
If it was from her then apparently she fibbed a little bitwinking smiley

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Maybe there is no "Julie" maybe Julie is Adam. Has anyone ever talked to Julie?
You may be on to something.

You know, that is interesting. I remember something from another post somewhere that was from Julie stating how she had just had a baby, but then in another post, she was discussing how she had been in the business for 30 years. I was thinking that if she had started mystery shopping at 18 (not very likely that someone so young would be mystery shopping, though I suppose it is possible) and was in the business for 30 years, that would make her 48, which is a little unlikely for motherhood, though again, not impossible, especially in this day and age. Still...makes one wonder!

My sense is that they are sort of loose with the email accounts over there. I have received emails from Ralph signed by Julie.

I was probably 15 or 16 when I did my first shops as summer and weekend PT employment, so I guess you could say that I have shopped for close to 50 years--if you ignore that I did no shops for almost 40 of those years.
Sure like I said, unlikely but not impossible. Though you may have been shopping at an early age, I am guessing you probably weren't having babies at nearly 50, were you...
Okay, both were in the same post from Julie Bishop, from page 2 of this thread. She stated that she had just had a baby and had been in this business for OVER 30 years...

The cap is $3k or $5k per LITIGANT, depending on the state. It sounds like most claims would be around $200 so everyone should get paid back.

I never worked for this company but I would love o help yall sue them ! Since they are not answering certified letters, you would have to get a sheriff to serve Adam for the case. And in order to appear on Judge Judy, you would have to file a case first.

Has anyone checked to see if FC is registered with the secretary of state in Utah or if they even have a business license in their county ?
Their business license expired a few years ago.

Everyone should file a complaint with the county or city where they used to have a license for doing business with no license. If you post the contact info, goldfl, I am sure there will be several board members who will send in a complaint.
I think I mentioned this earlier, but my suggestion for anyone contemplating a lawsuit would be to have the company records subpoenaed so that all shoppers could be contacted. I'm guessing you would find a VERY large number of unpaid shoppers....
I think you need a lawyer or court order to subpoena records and it would cost a lot to hire a lawyer.

Not necessarily. It depends on the county. My county charges $1 for subpoenas in civil matters.
Hey everyone, I did a search on Adam Valdez, and look what popped up:

[econnect.entrepreneur.com]

Check out that link. That is definitely him. And there is a cell phone number listed as well. I am in the process of submitting my Wage Claim Form with the Utah Labor Commission Wage Claim Unit today. I also plan on filing my claim with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection. I might just give Adam a call later on his cell phone, how much you want to bet he will hang up when he finds out why I am calling!

I've never worked for Franchise Compliance (thank goodness!). I looked at your link & it looks like he's moving onto other business opportunities. It sounds like credit repair.

When I've done business verifications, they always ask if there are signs that the place is in the business of credit repair. With his reputation, he won't get too far in this business.

By the way, when I googled his name with Utah, a mugshot came up. Does anyone know what he looks like? Is this the same guy?

[mugshots.com]

If that isn't a link, you might have to cut & paste. Or try googling his name & Utah. It was one of the first few hits.
I don't know what he looks like, but I don't think it is him. The guy in the photo from the mugshot was born in 1987 so he is only 25 years old, and I did my first shop for Franchise Compliance back in 2004. Maybe the guy in the photo on the entrepreneur website is him?
There can't be that many Adam Valdez's in Utah. Lewiston is only a few miles away from the Franchise Complaine address.

So, I'm guessing that the Adam Valdez of FC is the same Adam Valdez of 12704 N. High Creed Rd, Lewiston, UT 84320-2122. His number for his consulting business is listed as (435) 757-5071.

I think that is a different number from the Crdit Aid place. The Credit Aid place, while still in Utah, looks to be a couple of hours away.

I guess I'm bored today. I'm researching a guy I know nothing about except that he's screwed with some of my MS friends & sounds like a royal slimebag.
Thanks, Joytron, I am glad you took time to channel your boredom in such a pleasant way for us MS's that are getting ripped off! The reason I know that the Credit Aid Adam Valdez is the same is because the P.O. Box for Franchise Compliance and the Credit Aid thing are one and the same. That's not to say that he doesn't live in Lewiston, though. I might just call that number and ask a few questions, thanks again!
Praise the Lord, and hallelujah I canceled the shop I had a couple of months ago. I kept having the feeling I didn't want to do the shop, so I canceled it at the last minute. WooHoo! Praise God for discernment!!!

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart..."
I called the number for the Credit Aid, and sure enough, the voice mail recording stated it was Adam Valdez...it is a working number! I sounded casual, left my phone number, and I did not give my full name; wonder if he will call me back?
If he calls back, I'd still act interested in the credit aid info for a while just to keep him on the line so that you can determine where he is. It can only be helpful if you plan to sue or deliver legal papers.
Apparently his new venture will allow him to use his expertise, vast knowledge and years of hands on experience as he counsels others how to hang on to their money while screwing over everyone else.
