Cirrus Marketing

Has anyone done shopping with this company?

They REQUIRE an Invoice in order to get paid. Not just an Invoice, but their invoice with the:

Name of The Client, the Target person (if any), the date shopped, THE SCHEDULER and the President of the United States (just kidding). In addition their caveat is: IF INVOICE IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 3 MONTHS OF SHOP(S) BEING PERFORMED, PAYMENT WILL NOT BE MADE. [ which I do not believe is legal].

Their invoice then requires your Name, Address, Phone No., e-mail and SSN is you plan to earn more than $600/per annum. Now, they already have all of this information. I felt like I was doing their job for them.

Meanwhile they issue payments at the end of the month to PayPal NINETY days after your shop. What's up with that?

I shopped at the end of Feb. and will not get paid until the end of May.

Just curious about shopper's dealings w/Cirrus. I just check my profile and they require: Weight, Height, Marital Status, Annual Income,Education and No. of Children. Can anyone enlighten me on why they need to know my 'Annual Income'? My 'Marital Status'?

"You need to invoice for all shops completed. If you have not yet invoiced, you may do so within 3 months of your shop. Attached to this e-mail is a blank shopper invoice for your use.

If you previously invoiced, you should attach a copy of your invoice to your inquiry addressed to the billing person listed above. This will help her in researching and resolving the problem.

If you previously invoiced, but no longer have the invoice, please fill out another one and send it along with a note explaining the problem."

You can be certain I'll never shop for them again.

There is lots of info here about them. Lately it's taken longer than the 90 days stated.

As always, thanks for the info. It is invaluable to have these *heads up* about companies. It's hard enough to make money these days.
Besides the lousy payment terms, does this invoice get sent by e-mail? It's one thing to enter all your personal information into a secure server and quite another to send it all by e-mail each time you have a job. I work for several companies where I have to e-mail an invoice, but there is no additional personal information required, mostly just my name and client/assignment info.

How long is it taking recently for shop payment for them? I completed a shop in February, and have sent at least six emails and all of them returned the same reply. They just sent me the pay schedule and attached a blank invoice to fill out. I emailed somebody in the invoice dept. and she said that the invoice was received for the shop but it should have been paid at the end of May. I still have not received the payment. Is there a phone number that I can call? I can't seem to find it online. I completed the shop on Feb. 17, and now that it is June I'm starting to worry.
Thanks for the heads up. I signed up with Cirrus, but I'm no longer interested in their shops.
No problem! Just to update everyone again, I sent them another email asking for the status and yet again I got the same generic response. It just said that I needed to submit an invoice, included a blank invoice, and also stated the payment schedule. Not helpful at all. I WILL be calling them to get my money. I did find a phone number listed in the reply email this time.

I think they are the ones that do the Swedish furniture shops everyone abhors, too. That's TWO red flags!
It definitely is. That is the job I completed that took hours and I want my payment!!! I received a response that my payment should be here by this friday so we will see.
I was assured that my payment for a Feb 17 shop would be in my PayPal by Friday, 08 June. I called twice today, still nothing. That shop took HOURS and HOURS, and they drag their payment out to 90 days and BEYOND?!! This company is OFF MY LIST!
maybe franchise compliance took them over.

Ok.....I will be fair and update that I received my payment today. So it almost takes 4 months for a payment? No way will I ever do shops from them again.
They keep advertising two apartment shops right by my house. $25 each, but, I keep resisting every time I read this thread. I don't want to wait four months for a payment :/

When I went to open the Cirrus site, I got a warning not to open it from my McAfee scan for bad sites. It said it had a danger of "phising"(not sure I spelled it right.) Any one else get this or have a problem with them?
Cirrus finally paid! YAY!! But, really, almost FOUR MONTHS to receive payment is ridiculous, so they are definitely off my shop list.

Fuschia, I've not received any warnings when entering their site either.
My introduction was with them doing the furniture store, five hours, three in store, three reporting + driving time, report wasn't accepted, this was 6 years ago, and I still have the bruise. There are threads about this job and company, why do newbies still even bother with the price having gone up from 50.00 to 70.00, it still averages to about 14.00 an hour, and the report being so demanding, they have many ways to get out of paying. Shocked you guys are doing this horrendous job...they are up there with the few "don't do" MSC's. I'm sure many experienced shoppers stay away. I am glad some of you got through it and eventually got paid, you did put your money out, so once again, they keep your money, rack up on interest, and you lose. This is a one man pony, most won't go back.

Live consciously....
I did that famous furniture store one time. I heard people asking if they were still shopped and want to do the shop again. Maybe that was just a scheduler in disguise.

Oh, it gets a bonus all the time here (goes fro $55 to $55 plus $5) "because there are so many of these shops" - don't forget you have to order meatballs out of the flat fee payment.

I saw another member of this board post they loved the shop. Said the first couple took forever but after that it was a breeze. Well, I am not so sure I want to go thru the pain the second time and wait about 4 months for the lousy payment.

Okay, I maybe I would consider going back if the pay was doubled. Yes, maybe we are all @#$%& and just negotiating the price to paraphrase a movie!
We all thank all the posters for this valuable information.

Thanks. Cirrus? Just say no.
As a follow-up, I suggested to CM that they check out this board. That their (CM) business is suffering because of the 'slow/no pay'.

I was assured that 'my boss has seen it'...

Though I'm in a more rural area, I will not shop for them, again. Just weeding out the Infidels!

I did a shop in April so I guess it is premature to be expecting payment this month ? I wish I had checked the board first before doing the job. I only did it because I like the store and enjoyed spending the day there.
I am going through the exact same problem with CIRRUS MARKETING. I did my first shop for them in February and have not been compensated. Then, not knowing the problems I would have getting paid, did another one. So, I guess I'm out $120 I should be getting AND MORE THAN 1O BLEEPING HOURS OF MY TIME. This is utter B.S.!!!! I have NO problem with how tedious this job is (like many other who have posted about the Ikea assignments)....I'm reasonable enough to realize that's why it pays much more than others. But, to the best of my knowledge, there was nothing wrong with my report but I have not been paid (like some others reported they didn't get paid b/c they didn't get names, etc.---and you know CIRRUS used their reports anyway and got paid for them!!!) . I have sent numerous e-mails and get responses like 'payments going out soon.' Let me know if you get this resolved.

No company should be allowed to get away with this!!! I also suggest that anyone who has had a bad experience with them report them to various bureau (such as BBcool smiley. I noticed they are in Orange County--which is just down the road from me. At this point I might consider finding my way to their offices.

Maybe we should all consider a class action lawsuit. It sounds like there are enough of us who have been screwed over by this company. Even if an attorney gets a portion of a judgement, at this point, I'd be happy with a portion of what I'm due AND , MOST OF ALL, IT IS THE PRINCIPLE!!!! If they got a judgement against them, hopefully they would learn a lesson -- or go out of business.

I have been sending e-mail after e-mail and NOT ONCE has anyone mentioned anything about an invoice!!!!!! REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
still waiting on my money, and no more shops for these people. 90 days or more is ridiculous. Especially bad for me because I drove such long distances for these shops.
Hey, just do their Swedish shops every 30 days and you will get paid every month. They have a 30 day rotation (to do the shop) I think. The easiest money you can make. I had shied away from these shops after reading all the negative posts. Now I try to do them every 30 days. I personally love these shops.
I finally got paid for the shop I did for them in March, just a bit over the 90 days. (I also got an apology for the delay as well.) I was holding my breath a bit over the delay since they owe me for two more!
