Yeah, I've done a few shops for them. The shop fees tend to be above average, and the shops were actually enjoyable.

Here's a tip - it will help you out MUCH better than posting individually asking about every company. It's also advisable as it will be much faster, and you will probably get a better understanding of the company, able to see when (if) there was anything negative and of course positive interactions!

At the top of every "Main" forum is a link in the blue bar that says "SEARCH".

I always use the "SEARCH MESSAGES" box. Type in the company name, and then make sure you use "Search All Forums", "Last Year/All Dates" and also "All Words".

That will pull up (hopefully) pages of discussion where you can review at your leisure.

I just did that for "Merc Systems" and pulled up 1 page, 14 posts dating back to October 2011.

Yes - using the "Search" function before asking a question saves us all time. You will likely be able to bring up info immediately on a particular company that you can read right away without waiting for responses and without many of us repeating ourselves. Then, if you want more current information, post to whichever thread came up when you did your "Search" asking for more info.

They have some bar intergrity shops. The narratives are a little more demanding than average.

The beer and drinks are worth the long report, and the buzzon makes the report go quicker.....love the early 3:30 jobs, never crowded, easy to see, home by 5:00. I still miss TUAU, same jobs, no bar audits.

Yeah, I forget to do that also and then wonder "what is wrong with this company"!

It definitely helps though - it's how I found out about Franchise Compliance. I had a job scheduled with them the very first month I started as a shopper. Used the search and found out they were in the process of becoming notorious for non-pyaments. Canceled that job pretty darn quickly!

I always do the "search" before I sign up with a company, This is just the best

site there is, thanks to Jacob.

but it's also good to ask the wise owls hanging out in the trees here

cause sometimes there's nothing really recent on a company you're asking

about.

Irene....I had to laugh about the buzzon reports. I have a hard time being totally coherent after a couple of drinks. I'm more about one cheap drink and more reimbursement for food.

How on earth do you apply to shop for this company? This is at least the third company I could not find this information for on their site. Help appreciated!

MF now has the shops, but since I don't work for them, I'm out of the loop and will stick with Mercantile for more than one reasson...

I did a restaurant shop for them. It went just fine and I didn't need to put too much narrative, and I got a 10/10 on the shop. It was just a few weeks ago and I haven't been paid yet, so I don't know yet about the timeliness of their payments.
