Paying quickly is good, but don't forget the shops that pay 2 months down the road and don't ask you to put out any money up front. You both win.
I'm still anxious to receive my first payment for anything I've shopped from anyone I've shopped for. First shop date was 5/16/12 so I'm thinking I should be seeing some money soon. I hope.

Yes, soon you'll enjoy the fruits of your labor...some of it anyway. The cashflow in this business is hard to predict at times. I find I reap the most amount around the 15th of every month. A lot of companies seem to pay then. What gets me is if I'm expecting a payment on a certain date and it doesn't arrive. It's best to NOT expect anything and be surprised when it arrives. There always seems to be the "lost" payment, "system error", "delay payment this month", so you can't bank on anything.
Anywho, fast paying companies include, GFK, Feedback Plus, Trendsource, CoRi and usually Research Services Group, although I haven't received payment yet for their most recent project.

All the companies listed there are legitimate and reliable and their website are listed so you can go straight to the company and apply.
I have received payment for jobs in as little as eight hours and as long as several months.
Normal accounting practices are to pay within thirty days.
Overall, the mystery shopping industry is anything but normal on payments.

I Spy in Philadelphia pay the same day the shop was perfomed on a consisten basis.

CSE pays twice a month on the 1st nd 15th fo shops completed before their payroll is sent out. Bare pays the 15th of the month for all shops done the previous month. MarketForce pays around the middle of the month after your shops are completed.
IPSOS paid me the day after I did a phone shop to a call center!
I like that Bestmark pays promptly. I am still new and feeling out the others
I just did my first Bestmark shop. They seem to offer good paying gigs as well, and if they pay fast t'boot...
I got paid by MsI in less than a week for my first shop
I don't know what their payment schedule is but Qams has always paid me quickly, and has easy shops with minimal outlay.
I agree QAMS pays very quickly. Their reports are reasonable, too. But I find I work very little for them since they have changed schedulers. I guess I must have had a relationship with the previous scheduler (altho it did not seem so) and do not have a relationship with the current scheduler, because most of my applications for shops are deleted with no notification and are assigned to someone else. I have also noticed that they auto-assign quite a few jobs. A friend who also shops for them tells me she applied a year or so ago for one of their "dog" shops - a cheap shop in a not-great location - because she planned to be in the area. Now that shop is no longer advertised - instead it is auto-assigned to my friend every other month without her applying for it. There was no discussion and my friend was not asked if she wants the shop permanently, it is just assigned to her. If she doesn't accept quickly, she gets e-mails "reminding" her to accept. She says she isn't excited about doing the shop and would probably not apply for it, but she doesn't want to complain because she is afraid the schedulers will not assign her anything so she continues to accept and do the shop when assigned. This used to be one of my favorite companies. Still a good company, but no longer a favorite.
Has anyone received their 20th Paypal payment from Trendsource?
I have an invoice that says I was paid on the 20th but I received no payment. I emailed - they replied their paypal payments were delayed until Thursday the 23rd (yesterday). It is Friday the 24th at noon and still nothing - grrr, and no reply on my most recent email.

I began making a chart of all the companies I do shops for and when they pay and in what form. I have collected this information from each comanies own website. I have a few I cannot find info for but here is what I have( some may have multiple forms of payment but I wrote which I use from the company):
CRI- direct deposit- Submit before Monday to be paid following Friday
Secret Shopper- Check- 19th of following month
ICCDS- Check- Last week of following month
BARE- Direct Deposit- 15th- 20th of following month
Amusement Advantage- Paypal- 14 to 21 days after shop completion
Reality Based Group- Paypal- Unknown
Market Force- Direct Deposit- before 20th of following month
In Touch- Direct deposit- ~ 4 weeks after shop date, payments issued bi-weekly
GFK- Paypal- 2 to 3 weeks after shop date
J.M. Ridgeway- Prior to end of following month
KSS- does not pay through their group. Providers pay directly
Second to None- Direct deposit- unknown

I have had the hardest time getting timely payments from JM Ridgway. They take 4+ months to pay and I always have to hound them multiple times for them to pay at all.
I have found that Intellaprice, Viewpoint & TNS pay very quickly. And other companies others have mentioned (e.g. MSI, Amusement Advantage, etc.).

I agree, fluxmaster, I don't think Ridgeway belongs on a fast-pay list. I totally disagree with the above poster's statement:

I've not known Ridgeway to pay fast. In fact, not only have I always believed they pay very slow, but I have always had to contact them and ask for my money. I don't shop for them because of having to request payment.
