BestMark Problems?

First post upon finding the website.

I do mystery shops for several different mystery shopping companies and seem to be having trouble with just one of them, Bestmark. Has anyone else had trouble with them?

I did a couple of Best Buy shops for them several weeks ago and I have yet to be paid. Then my account was closed. I have tried to contact the company via email and phone but have yet to get an answer.

So far they have always paid me as agreed. I did a job recently so I hope that they continue their good pay record.

I shop for Bestmark from time to time. I've not had any problems with the company, but when I first started shopping I did have one shop they didn't pay due to my error. They called and explained that the report was not being accepted and gave me details on the mistake I had made. Not knowing why your account was closed, it's not possible to make a helpful comment. Did you do more than one shop that was not accepted? If you can tell us more, perhaps we can be more helpful.

I had done over 50 shops for the company and was contacted if there were questions. Then one day I was not able to log into my account. I never changed the password or username. I even typed in both several times to make sure it was not my error. The company seems to not want to get back to me for some reason either by phone or by email. So I cannot say as to why it was closed. I have even tried to contact the schedulers who send out reminder emails about the issue. Maybe they were instructed not to respond as well. I do not know and am just looking for a response from the company.
hrm113 - The relationship between the MSC and the shopper is that either can terminate at any time. What you are describing is a company who has terminated your account and by choice is not responding. If you have made all possible contacts with the company, there is nothing else you can do.

What if there are shops you completed and you were not compensated for? Is there anything I can do at that point?
If you're talking about accepted shops on which payment is past due, I would pursue that by continuing to contact the company. If accepted and not past due, I would wait and see what happens. If not accepted, you won't be paid.

Bestmark was the first company I signed with and they have treated me well so far. They've been helpful and understanding more than once when I've had unusual situations occur during shops. They also have paid promptly and accurately. Your situation sounds very frustrating! I hope it's in error and gets straightened out.
I have never had any problems with BestMark. I was paid for the some internet inquiries within 2 weeks.
I was always paid quickly, even after I deactivated with them, I received my pay within a week.

Bestmark was also my first company, and I have never had a problem. I forgot to identify a manager at a restaurant once. I called back to ask the manager's name, so I had that, but no description. Didn't count.
I just got a check from them the other day.

I had a problem receiving payment from them for a high end restaurant. It was several months and the person in payroll was nasty and unprofessional. I reported them to the BBB and they paid me within a week and deactivated me.
Recently Bestmark changed shoppers passcodes because of security issues. I received an email from them regarding this along with my new passcode. Perhaps yours was sent but you haven't received it? You may try calling them.
I also had trouble getting into my account due to the pass code situation. Once in, I was not able to navigate around the site because all the policies and agreements were on the homepage. I was required to check the box that I "agreed" to the terms of each policy before I could proceed. I checked all the boxes but still could not navigate. The policies were still posted on the screen, just without the check boxes. I emailed the help desk since I had a shop due that day. They responded in about an hour and had fixed the problem.

Their pay schedule is posted somewhere on the site. Checks are printed twice a month (I THINK-NOT CERTAIN) on Fridays. It usually takes 3 weeks for me to receive a check after I have completed a shop. I would assume that even if you have been deactivated, they would notify you that your shop was not accepted and you would not be paid. Let us know how it turns out.

Today, I find a nicely bonused shop that has only one date available to choose - Monday July 30th. I take the shop and then go and start reading the guidelines which state there needs to be a web inquiry sent a minimum of 24 hours before the shop and can only be sent Monday-Friday.

I contact via the weekend emergency button hoping I would be able to do the web inquiry and shop on the same day and wait to report on the web inquiry and ask what I can do. The response is thanks for letting us know in a timely manner, we will note in your history that you canceled the shop.

Really, I couldn't complete the shop per the guidelines, but didn't request a cancelation and e-mailed them because of concerns within 15 minutes of accepting the shop.

I am currently at my parents which is 3 hours from home and was going to pick this shop up while here. We are leaving Tuesday morning, so could possibly do this shop right before leaving if acceptable, but I really needed to know what I could do.
Watch out for that because they keep track of cancellations. It sounds like they were having some comprehension issues. Thanks for this because they have some shops with big bonuses and I was considering picking them up for Monday. I may have to wait until I can speak with someone there.

I picked up a heavily bonused car sales shop (ugh...I hate those, but it was bonused by $21). Of course, you can't see the instructions until after you accept. I accepted it yesterday to be completed yesterday. It required a phone call/visit. The phone call was to be done 24 hours prior to the shop. This was impossible. I went ahead and called the dealership and visited the dealership. I had three other shops within walking distance of the dealership.

Im keeping fingers crossed that it is accepted. I wrote a note to them explaining the obvious.

We will see! If it is rejected, that will be my last shop for them. I think it is crazy that they will not disclose shop details until after you accept then track cancelations.
I will try to call on Monday, but I would have to make the website visit and do the dealership first thing Tuesday. I don't see how the have a shop posted where you can't complete according to guidelines.

I know that they track cancelations and it is frustrating that I never asked to cancel, but wanted to know how to complete the shop when it was impossible to do as the guidelines indicated.
I have never had a problem with any of my shops payments. There has been a couple of times that I have had to contact them, they were very accommodating for me and one of the best as far as how fast they pay. I am sorry that you have not had that experience.
Just to follow up from my previous post. Bestmark approved my shop with no questions asked. I made my phone call the same day as the shop since I assigned it and was to perform it the same day.
BestMark was the first company with which I worked and so far has been reliable and professional. Editors have been polite and payment has been prompt.

No fee, no shop.
