Market Force and Recertification?

Well I went to see if there was anything interesting on the job board of MF, and it told me that my certification had expired. I had to take some quiz, which is okay, no big deal, but I also have to have another background check, for $7 plus some processing fee. What the crap? I havn't committed any crimes this year that didn't show up (or not show up as the case may be) on last years' check. I think it very unreasonable to have to pay this fee each year. Opinions, please? thanks,

The annual background check was a requirement when you signed up. If you do a lot of shops with them and you want to continue to shop for them, that I think it should not be a problem.

Huh? I've been with Market Force for years (since they were Shop'n Check) and never had one background check. Same with the Certified side.

Why is it always the companies that have the lowest paying jobs passing along the cost of a background check?

Same here. I've done shops with MF for three years and not once have I had to do a background check. Maybe it is for certain jobs they offer.

I've worked several years for MF and never had any type of background check with them. ICarol, is this required because of one client you shop for?

I've never been required to have a background check for Market Force. Do they require this for certain states, or what??

I started shopping with them in January 2012. It was a requirement upfront for me.

I signed up with them in May (I think) 2012 and wasn't told anything about a background check.

My apologies. I went back and did some research in my files. The background check that I had to complete was for a different company and it was because I do several audits forthem. TS. I just signed on to MF and cannot find anything that requires a BG check nor are there any messages for the shoppers regarding such.

Yeah I thought you might have meant TS and I may be wrong, but I thought it was for audits only???

Yes it is for audits. I do quite a bit of them.

I was wrong. As the teenagers would say, "my bad." It is for Trendsource, but it is not for audits, it is for any shops.





Our records indicate your OSI Certification anniversary has expired. Every Field Agent performing OnSite Inspections must renew their certification each year. In order to remain certified, Field Agents must have both passed a background check and taken a short re-certification quiz within the last 12 months.

funny,I have never done an audit or on site inspection, only mystery shops for this company.
