Thumb up for Maritz

I have worked with this company for few months. Unfortunately I will have to skip the next two months (hopefully only that) because I have to have a tumor removed from my brain.
Maritz is the only company that actually called me home in three different occasions to ask me how I was doing. Not even my full time employee did that much. Plus I appreciate that this company works almost only with phone calls instead of email. There is a real personal human contact.
On the side note, I know they always look for new shoppers.

I wish they had more jobs offer...if clients need a good marketing company I would vouch for Maitz.

yes, they are more personal than any company that i've known. i feel like i know them, and they are not just invisible people behind emails. they always try to work with me.

me too. smiling smiley
I guess I'm the odd duck. It drives me nuts that they won't email me when they have a job. I can't take calls at work, and checking my voicemail and then calling them back can eat up an entire break. I can check my email while I'm on a potty break and still get to use my breaks to have a break.
Hello Chary - Here's hoping for the very best possible outcome from your surgery. Be sure to get back with us and let us know how you're doing at the first opportunity.

I also love Maritz and do a lot of work for them, but the calling doesn't work best for me. I don't like to leave my cell on when I'm doing a shop and I don't like to answer it when I'm driving. I also don't like to be delayed by a phone call when I'm on a tight schedule. However, I'm realistic and I can work with their system. I do miss a lot of calls. My experience has been that returning the call later is not fruitful.

I'm a big fan of the system at Cori. The job fee increases on the board until someone takes it. I can work with that.

Be sure you keep us posted. Here's hugs and wishing you well.

Charyuop,

Sending up wishes for a quick and full recovery for you.

Maritz is that mixed bag for me. They obviously do take notes about shoppers and follow up on what they said. Once I had to reschedule a shop because my grandmother passed and when I got a call from them two weeks later, the first thing they asked was how I was doing before they asked about my willingness to do a shop. Earlier this summer, I went to Ireland on a trip of a lifetime. They happened to call as I was on the way to the airport. Follow up calls asked me about how my trip had gone. It is nice to have that instead of getting called four times in one day to do a shop you have zero interest in doing and they act shocked when you mention that you were already called. They actually make you feel like you are a human being and they care.

That said, I do wish they were more willing to do e-mail contact. I teach and am not allowed to use my cell phone during the day. Trying to contact the right person over lunch is sometimes tricky.

The shops are easy enough and they pay when they say they will. They are willing to negotiate for distance. All things I appreciate in a company.

maritz is good at receiving emails. they just don't tend to send them out. if you send them an email, it will most definitely be seen. you can send the email to the attention of a specific person, if you wish, and the message may be relayed to that person if it directly affects them.
That is the problem... They see the e-mail and call me back on the phone. But I typically can't be reached via phone from 7:30 - 4:00 or later. I do like that when things have gone wrong while out on site, I have been able to reach them by phone and actually talk to someone.
Shelly have you tried to ask them to set as your preferred way of communication email? Or calling them and ask them to contact you only via email?

Yes, I have. I even include that in e-mails and messages I send them as a reminder and 90% of the time the response is by phone.

I have a hard time with them always calling, as well. I can send a quick email from my day job, but they always insist on calling my home phone. I finally gave them my cell phone number, but I cannot answer my cell phone while I am busy at work. I have Wednesdays off, but usually use that as a Mystery shopping day! I also have a hard time wanting to call on my breaks. I wish they would respond via email too!
