Heads up on high-end watch shops for Intelli-Shop!!!!

I have not worked with them in quite a while so I decided to give it another whirl when I saw a reasonablly paying shop for a watch brand. I was given the shop and did it today. So, here is the lowdown....you have to get a salesperson to show you 5 new and 5 discounted watches. You have to have specific information for each watch such as the full name of the watch, description, identification number, price, and discounted percentage. Let's face it, most of them look nearly the same so it wasnot easy keeping the information straight!! Get one thing wrong on any of the ten and your report is rejected. I made sure I had the instructions down pat but it was the biggest pain in the rear shop I have ever done. If that salesperson did not know I was a shopper, I would be amazed. Never again would I consider doing a shop like this. If this had been one of first ever mystery shops, I would have thrown in the towel on the whole industry!!!!

Thanks for the heads up. The last time I did them, they were not that difficult. Of course, I rarely did them because how often am I looking for a watch? I did keep one adorable watch for one shop but after that, I got tired of doing that shop.

not wise to do without undercover recording equipment. if that's even legal for the location.
I did this today. It was a nightmare. They only had 2 out of the 10 watches. No discontinued or sale watches at all. Ugh.
My guess is it is a new client for them and they will eventually revise the report, so keep giving them feedback. Thank you for the post.

Can there actually be a watch that costs as much as a car?
I've pretty much washed my hands of this company...worked for them for a LONG time but got "stung" and never again....
After my recent debacle that I wrote about yesterday, I think some things may have changed over at Intelli-Shop since I last worked for them many months ago. I received PROMPT response when I had a question, the scheduler worked with me to resolve my issue (the store did not have 5 watches on discount as I was supposed to get the information on), and they claim to have a shorter pay cycle. The report was also much simpler and shorter than their reports in the past. Although the point of the shop was to get an insane amount of specifics on the watches, there was only 2 narrative questions. In the past, they typically have a crazy number of narratives, even on the simple shops. Granted, this is only one shop, but I think I will try out a few more shops. I have received e-mails from them that mentioned some of their changes, and it seems to be true. We will see....

I did something like that, except I also had to report the exact location of those watches, in the display window and the counter. I also had to dress up to show I could afford those watches.

I was reminded of another shop for this company that made me feel like I had pasted a sign on my forehead, "I am a mystery shopper." The manager practically shouted at me for asking for something which I should have been aware of was never sold before Wednesday, if I was really a collector. Oh, I got 9 and 8 for those. Both required photos and mine were not the best as my hands were shaking. lol
I just signed up for one of their watch shops and I don't see anything about getting details on 5 regular priced watches & 5 discounted ones- either it's a different client, or they listened & changed the report! Looks like lots of narrative though.

Next time you have nothing to do and are bored...
stroll into a rolex store....watches that cost 3x a car
will be the norm

There are no stupid questions, but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots

Two different shops. I've done the one you're talking about several times. And yes, the narrative is not short, especially when there are extenuating circumstances or the location is huge! When the store is small, it's not as difficult, but there is still a lot to address, especially if they haven't hit all points.

As far as price and car, yes, absolutely! I have shopped very high-end watch brands I would never dream of owning! I can think of much better things to do with six digits.

No kidding. It would be a bad day at the office if a mystery shopper damaged the watch and had to pay for it.
I recently did some research on watch functions. These high-end watches can easily exceed $300,000. I even spotted one listed at 11 million dollars.

I did one of those - it was kind of fun, but it was one of those visits where the salesperson was really bad. My report was accepted after about 10 clarifications, but I never go back to places where I wrote up a negative report.
I do another company's watch, one watch evaluation and a fair report...wouldn't touch Itellishop, low pay too much work.

Live consciously....
Sounds rough and I assume it pays poorly! Thanks for the heads up
